I think we need to see if we can adjust our hyperspace rules.Hyperspace travel times
While generally determined by the distance between two planets, hyperspace travel times between two locations seemingly close to one another could be drastically extended by the need to navigate around stellar hazards, such as asteroid fields and nebulae.
An example of this is the journey from Coruscant and Alderaan. In terms of distance, Alderaan was very near to Coruscant. However, it required sixteen hours of travel to reach Alderaan due to a section of the route crossing through a part of the largely-uncharted Deep Core which is star-choked and therefore more difficult to navigate in due to its many gravity wells.[6] Ironically, then, it was actually faster to get from Tatooine to Alderaan on the other side of the galaxy. In some cases, intragalactic travels could take days, depending on the distance between two planets and the obstacles between.

I wonder if Ro tossed Ra's comlink in the back of a taxi and paid it to go to the garden district while they stayed at the starport to find a ship leaving immediately.

There is no way to prove it, but when I decided that Ro was going to lie to leave that he knew he'd have to get rid of a few things which would make it easy to track him. I decided that going to the garden district and dumping the comms was going to be first on his list. the garden district was to sell the lie a bit further to give him a bit more time.Whiteness wrote:Gandolfini wrote:I wonder if Ro tossed Ra's comlink in the back of a taxi and paid it to go to the garden district while they stayed at the starport to find a ship leaving immediately. My destiny will be to make Gandolfini make as many characters as possibleAbout 40 meters north of where you were eating you notice a pair of commlinks on the ground. Then Gandolfini posts the taxi thing and I was like "jerk you are ruining my fun!"

1. I didn't shoot Ro.
2. I didn't say in front of Ro "Let's sell Ro to Mr. T".
3. I didn't let him waltz out of the ship without an escort/guard.
And I am very sure that Pat had this in mind long before I said word one. Pat doesn't need my help to get you guys chasing your tail.

It doesn't really help that we asked our GM to track himself...
Syric: "Fandango track those two!"
Fandango: "I will track their comlinks!"
Ro': "We better ditch these comlinks!"

For example, Wailer knew of three force signatures on Bryx but he never talked about it because he couldn't pinpoint it. If he had, it might have moved up our time table on picking up Ro and avoiding the Sith droids.

Also, if Ro'Talth was lieing why was there no opposed deception/perception rolls? I would have to say in such a tense situation Syric would have had reason to not take what Ro had to say at face value...

Re: The Taris Event Chapter 3 OOC Thread
Whoops. My bad. I sincerely was misunderstanding the rules. As we are already down this road it is done, but the other alternative I was considering was trying to shoot my way out. Fandango only has Ion weapons, and it would have been messy and time consuming to say the least. In the future I will ask for perception checks when lying.

As the GM you are certainly allowed to roll those things for us, especially when it prevents us from OOCly knowing what is happening in IC land. Even knowledge we don't really know can influence our decisions.Blackferne wrote:Whoops. My bad. I sincerely was misunderstanding the rules. Re: The Taris Event Chapter 3 OOC Thread
Yeah, lieing is one of the more complex rules in the game. It's beat will if they have no reason to think you are lieing, beat perception if they are suspicious at all when lieing to NPCs. Whenever a player is involved I always have them roll perception. However you can also make that roll for the player rather than having them roll it if it's a situation where you don't want the player suspecting they are being lied to when they are as well.
