The campaign is dead, long live the new characters!!
I guess it's my turn to try my hand at this whole forum-based game thing. I'm going to be slightly lazy and likely recycling ideas from previous games I've ran since I've been running episodic Star Wars RPG games for more years than I care to admit.
The game is going to be episodic, meaning I'm not planning on having 1 grand story arc that's going to take you from level 1-20.
We are going to be playing in the Rebellion Era, so after Star Wars but pre-Empire Strikes Back.
As it is the Rebellion Era Jedi is a forbidden class.
Also as it is the Rebellion Era you can play a droid character, however you will have non-aggression programming as that is standard in this era.
You are starting at level 1.
You are a new member of the Rebel Alliance.
The game will start on Tuesday June 28th. I'm waiting that simply because I don't want to start and get a couple days in then have a 5 day break for Alvistide kill the game like what happened with Pat's game. So start tossing around ideas, I encourage collusion on character creation, you have 12 days til launch.

Also please elaborate on non-aggressive droid programming.
Does it mean no combat, only defensive combat, only non-lethal combat options?

So here is my idea:
Lvl1-7 Protocol droid. Mostly noble stuff, maybe pick up scoundrel for gambling.
Lvl 8+ Crime Lord.
Early I will be mostly noncombat obviously and after Crime Lord I hope "non-aggressive programming" doesn't prevent me from issuing aggressive orders to my minion.

I will provide stats.
Non-agressive means that the behavoiral inhibitior programming is in place - ie you cannot intentionally harm or allow harm to sentient beings. See page 187 of the main rulebook for the full description.
Gambling will be allowed, however it will be arbitrary and ad-hoc rules that will involve opposed rolls against either the dealer or your opponent(s) at the table.

Re: The campaign is dead, long live the new characters!!
So my plan of the Protocol Droid breaking bad and getting minions would be allowed per 187 because it says a heuristic processor can allow some circumventing the rules allowing a droid to attack or even harm sentient living beings as long as it believes that doing so will ultimately save more sentient beings from harm? (heuristic processors pg 190-191)Furiel wrote:I will provide stats.

There are ways around it if you have a heuristic processor yes. Just takes some creativity.Blackferne wrote:So my plan of the Protocol Droid breaking bad and getting minions would be allowed per 187 because it says a heuristic processor can allow some circumventing the rules allowing a droid to attack or even harm sentient living beings as long as it believes that doing so will ultimately save more sentient beings from harm? I will burn down this orphanage. Yes it will kill 50 kids and some workers which is bad. But it will allow me to build my corrupt hospital which by itself will easily save 50 lives the first few months of operation. And because it is corrupt I'm skimming 10-15% of the total revenue to arm the rebellion which will topple the Empire thus stopping another Alderaan. So as you can see I have to burn down this orphanage. I mean it would be much worse if I didn't!

Boo to starting at level 1
Double Yay for starting a new game
Boo to my plans for my next character to be a lawful good Jedi (this is not a boo to the rule of no Jedi)
Boo to me not being creative and notknowing what other character to play
another Double Yay for starting a new game

I think I found the model droid I want to be.
http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/M-3PO_mi ... ocol_droid
Basically they are 1) era appropriate and 2) primarily used for logistics and personnel management which is my in to the rebellion.

I would like to play an Aqualish named Bronto Gaga. Story details removed.
