The Taris Event Chapter 2

Re: The Taris Event Chapter 2
Dood raises his eyebrows.
"Syric, didn't you say you purchased a nice suit? I think it might behoove us to take in a show tonight."
Dood rubs his hands together.
"It may be possible to find our way into Kunga's presence by ingratiating ourselves with this Twi'lek. I might be able to arrange for us to find our way backstage after the performance. Perhaps a fellow bothan would grant some time from the son of the Bothan Senator. It could give us an opportunity to foment a useful relationship."

Dood leans back.
"In the meantime, Bulwark and the others can maybe follow up on Eli's other suggestion: looking for a potential hole in Kunga's security, though I can't fathom what any of those holes might be at the villa."

Re: The Taris Event Chapter 2
Alot depends on what kind of security he's using. You say he uses alot of physical during the day, what about night? How hooked in is his security to the outside world? I mean if he's using alot of electronic at night then wouldn't it be possible to have it hacked to get around it? Essentially my idea is that we basically infiltrate the compound without being seen, leave a package on his doorstep saying "hi, if we got this far in undetected just think what Sargo can do" then wait for him to call.
Also, do you gentlemen think you might want or need an escort for this evening? One of the more...physical variety?

Re: The Taris Event Chapter 2
"I'm not a huge fan of violence. Logically he's a Hutt, (Knowledge Bureacracy +11 d20+11 = [18+11=29]) so we know he loves money and power. So if we can offer to pay for porky, give him something worthwhile for porky, or do a service worth more than what porky is worth to get him back we should be fine. Now again, all of that is assuming porky is in his possession as of the most recent information I can find about the ship carrying (which I did upload to the ships computer), that ship hasn't been here, and hasn't landed anywhere of note or mention since it left Lok."
So ponders this for a moment to let both sides of his brain work on his next thoughts.
"From here it might be worth it just to go in and talk to Kunga, realizing the depth of his security getting in good with his assistant might be the best way to go. I'm thinking Syric and at least one other motivational speaker go to the show tonight, lay it on thick about wanting to talk to Kunga about a business proposition with the assistant and see where it goes. Basically schmooze him about running "special" cargo for him or something of the like."

We could also wait for the Gungan to show up and have him force persuade us an audience with Kunga.Arrican wrote:"From here it might be worth it just to go in and talk to Kunga, realizing the depth of his security getting in good with his assistant might be the best way to go. Re: The Taris Event Chapter 2
If we wait for the next performance, in two days, that would give Dood and others a chance to get presentable clothing. I have no delusions that I will fit in with high society, so I'll skip the suit and work on recon on the compound.
Re: The Taris Event Chapter 2
"I can play the awkward genius all night, I think I might have a better use of my time. We have a chance to upgrade our hyperdrive, I'm thinking with all the information I'll be gathering today on Kunga's ship, I can take tomorrow to get a nice suit of clothes just in case for future necessity and then go ahead and use the droids to upgrade our hyperdrive. If the current CFO is ok with that. We'd be selling our current hyperdrive for 5k, the new one is 10k, and it will take up an additional emplacement point, but it will make our hyperdrive trips that much faster [ooc: 1d6 less for trips]. What do you think?"
Re: The Taris Event Chapter 2
"I could go tonight with Cuspar, but it would be strictly recon. It might not hurt to have one or two people watching the doors to identify the advisor and his bodyguard incase we can't lose them inside."
Looking at So, "I think that's a good idea, do we have the credits for it Dood? Also, maybe we could mount a couple docking guns to if we have the room. "

FYI you will need a crew of 5 people (droids are people in this case) helping you install the hyperdrive.

"There's always a potential for him to be a better navigator than us and beat us to a location, there's also the chance that we could be somewhere in 2 days, and it could take him 18. It's just the ways of space, but all in all his ship would be "slower" than ours."

Re: The Taris Event Chapter 2
I'm instituting a "Fleet Rule" where if both ships are headed the same place at the same time you get the better of the two time rolls applied to both ships. It is like hyperspace drafting in Space NASCAR. However since you guys have a hyperdrive difference we will have each ship roll 1d6, the better result will get multiplied by 2.5 (rounded down) instead of 3.

Re: The Taris Event Chapter 2
Just a point of correction, but it's Sargo that is getting the Xanadua ready, not Kunga. So while it's interesting, I don't think we necessarily need to do intensive research on it at this time. Currently Kunga is our concern, not Sargo.Arrican wrote:"I can play the awkward genius all night, I think I might have a better use of my time. Also, if it's ok with the rest of you I'm going to borrow Cuspar for a little bit and he's going to take me suit shopping. Hopefully we can find a shop that will be able to get something ready for me by friday, especially with the customization that I'm looking for. If you need either of us our comlinks will be on and open.
I'll wait a moment to see if anyone objects, and if not then the squid and I head out. I'm placing faith in our shipping magnate son to find me a tailor shop that will not only make quality merchandise, but knows how to not only make clothing appropriate for a bodyguard, but will also be open to a slight custom alteration I have in mind.

"Agreed. If we can maybe run a search in the background or something along those lines, then let's do that. For today, let's see if maybe we can get information on the security systems and even a construction readout of Kunga's lair.Furiel wrote:Just a point of correction, but it's Sargo that is getting the Xanadua ready, not Kunga. Syric and the Calamari should suit up and get tickets to the show tonight. Get a lay of the land. Tonight Bulwark and I will go see what Kunga's security looks like in the dark.
As for the hyperdrive, my understanding is that for something that complicated we'd need at least five of us to install it unless we're hiring someone else to help us. I have concerns about spending 5,000 of Aderbrent's current 5,600 credits. I'm not wholly against it, I'd just like to think about it for a bit unless everyone else is in favor of doing it right now.
As for the rest of the day, I'm going to join Eli and the Squid in their suit shopping. I'll need something nicer than these rags for Friday as well."
Dood gets up and wanders after Eli and Cuspar.

Cuspar hails Nolan Tsont'Ar. Assuming I can get him, I ask him the following:
Mr. Tsont'Ar - I hope you're well. My colleagues and I have found ourselves in Tal'Kor on Bryx, and they seek a tailor the likes of which I met you at on Tattooine. Have you any recommendations?

The view screen lights up with an old man with a growing smile. "Mr. Inirv'E the younger. It is a pleasure to hear from you. On Bryx...why are you on Bryx? Tell me how your enterprise is faring while I look at my notes."Cuspar wrote:Cuspar hails Nolan Tsont'Ar. Assuming I can get him, I ask him the following:

@ Tsont'Ar
The enterprise goes very well. Aderbrent shipped a small herd of dewbacks here, and I came along to audit the processes. It went, I must say, wihtout a hitch. We're investigating diverse options here, and my head of security and Aderbrent's CEO require garments suitable for a meeting after an evening at a formal theater. And how are things on Tattooine? Have you secured contractors for the job you required?

FYI, the reason we're down to that level of credits is that Aderbrent had 12K in funds, 6600 of which went to buying things like food and fuel.Whiteness wrote:"I didn't realize we'd blown through our credits so fast, I don't think the incremental increase in speed is worth the 5K right now. "Ah here it is. When I was last in Bryx, several years ago I'm afraid, I had a suit made from a delightful gentleman located in a small rustic shop by the river in city of Tal’Kor. His name Is Reshan. He is a bit pricey, but your associates will look dapper to say the least. I'm afraid I have not yet found a team able to pass my test job. I might need to venture elsewhere. It is quite disappointing to say the least. Oh if you plan to go to the theater, should you bump into a gentlemen named Ro'Talth, he is a big theater goer in my recollections, give him my regards. He and I worked together on a project a while back. A real charmer."
