The Taris Event Chapter 2

Post by Reese » Thu Mar 17, 2011 5:42 am

Klak looks to Dood approvingly with a nod and makes his way towards the cockpit. He is glad someone around here recognizes the value of a soldier on board. He takes a sip of the whiskey bottle he still has on hand.

Once at the cockpit entrance he says "Hey there So, what are you looking for?" and remains sipping whiskey and watching So Leet.

Klak doesn't want to think there are divisions in their ranks but he Cripple left, the Gungan is leaving and for some reason Dood now has concerns about the young hacker. Best keep his eyes open and protect those that keep Alvis' prayers in his hands and belly.

Everyone hussles and prepares for launch. You get clearance and liftoff for space and then the jump to hyperspace to Bryx.

15 days worth of butt kickings coming right up.

I think Cuspar also offered to spar with me as well during the trip, but I can't find a quote on that. Anyone who wants to spar, or wants "lessons" are welcome to them. My sparring sessions are going to probably be quite different depending on who I'm fighting. When I'm sparring with Klak I'm not holding back, but I'm also not going to be trying to hurt him either. With the others I'll be holding back and I'll be taking much more of a mentoring role as well, stopping the sessions to correct technique flaws and teaching them new tricks and attacks etc. Klak being the soldier that he is I'm sure doesn't need any additional training, the rest though, I need to make sure they are in fighting trim for when things go bad.

During the trip, Dood spends his time taking his shifts in the cockpit, doing whatever other chores are required, and playing a few friendly games of sabacc with Syric, Klak, Cuspar, and (if he can talk him into it) Eli. He also makes a point of observing the occasional sparring match between Eli and the other crewmembers, but declines any invitation to join in.

@ Wailer

9 days in hyperspace allows plenty of meditation over your mission so far. The trip allows you to tune yourself back with the force and atone for your dark side transgressions. You have erased 2 dark points at the cost of two force points. During your journey you learn that Slick thinks he is pretty funny. He often uses the ship's view ports to tell you jokes. They are usually not very funny. For example "One battle droid looks at another battle droid and says 'Can you pass me that oil?' and the other battle droid says 'What do I look like a class 3 droid?'" When you don't laugh Slick says maybe the joke doesn't translate well from binary.

January 15th

Upon coming our of hyperspace at Lok you get permission to land at the Spaceport in the north and proceed to land at the appropriate docking part. You have 16 days worth of food and 61 units of rations left.

The air is slightly warmer than last time you were here about two weeks ago. The sky is overcast and the spaceport is pretty empty as there are only a handful of ships here.

During the trip I monitor the droids trying to tweak them and improve their functions. Just trying to make them more efficient in their work.
Mechanics +9 (I think.)
Use computer +16
And generally trying to ingratiate myself to the rest of the group offering help anywhere I can.

Cuspar spends his time:

a) taking his turn tending to the dewbacks
b) playing friendly sabacc (because I have basically no monies) and drinking
c) sparring (gently) with Eli
d) reading the Book of Alvis

[OOC: for sparring with Eli, are we going to roll it out?]

If you want to roll it out with Eli you guys are more than welcome. I was figuring it wouldn't be necessary.

Bulwark spends his time sleeping and playing friendly sabacc with Cuspar.
When no one is around, he sneaks into the cargohold and waves his hand in front of one of the dewbacks and says, "you will not poodoo on my shift." No noticable effects have been detected in the dewback poodoo schedule, yet.

@ Arrican just an FYI you can give the Med Droid Cerean and 1 more language, but the S6 is restricted to Basic (understand only) and binary.

"Alright Slick, order 14 days of fuel and then follow me"

Wailer puts his jedi robes back on (he had been wearing the pocket-all) and they leave Pussy Wagon (locking it of course) and head to the Port Masters office.

At the Port Master's office (really just a prefabricated shed), Wailer knocks on the door.

SOD boots up after the installation of the vocaublator and you give the instruction "Yes sir." After a while SOD comes back "Sir, you told me to clean the ship and perform maintenance as required. I am unable to complete my task to its fullest because of nonsentient quadrapeds in the hold of the ship. They routinely produce waste material which is not properly disposed of in the manner the bipedal organics seem to prefer. With your permission I would like to move the quadrapeds to the exterior of the ship."

Slick chirps acknowledging the purchase order has completed (700cr in fuel, balance is now 4169 cr)

He rolls off the ramp and follows you and beeps and chirps about something or another.

You knock at the Port Master's door. Moments later a protocol droid answer.

"Greetings. I am P43, human cyborg relations. The Port Master is currently unavailable, but shall return shortly. How might I be of assistance in the meantime?"

Slick chirps and beeps something.

P43 laughs "That is pretty funny."

Tea would be great. Thank you.

After sitting down and taking the cup of from T43, Wailer asks "Do you expect that your master would have any objections to my request?"

Wailer takes a sip of tea.

"I'm sorry sir we do not. Not many things make it out this far into the Outer Rim."

About that time an older gentleman with some goggles comes in with a fishing pole and a tackle box.

"P43, if you could be so kind as to put my fishing gear away, I'd appreciate it."

"But of course master. I take it no luck on your fishing break?" P43 says takign the rod and box from the Port Master.

"Nope, nothing seems to be biting today."
He turns to you "Well how might I help you?"
