"Hmm. On reflection, it seems that the light necessary to see by would be more likely to attract attention than moving during the day."

Star symbol. The dark spray painted areas are foresty type areas.

"In Tony Plush's opinion it might be better to move in the day, especially while we are still nominally in our own territory. It would be unfortunate if we end up fighting and killing men on our own side."

[OOC sorry overlooked that somehow.]
Stavis remembering that he has been here before will stop abruptly. "Shoot, the forest has changed so much in these past 75 years, I didn't recognize that I wanted to avoid this place."
"We've got a third party to mindful of. Unless they abandoned the post here there is also Drow to be on watch for."

"Oh good. That's good."
OOC- Important safety tip, thank you Egon.
Trinal looks at Stavis. "So- how would you suggest we avoid their outpost? Whereabouts is it? Should we head a bit further north and pass around it?"

@Whitey the 1 unread message thing is there the first time you log into the forums when the message is new. It then goes away for some reason (I'm not sure why) even though the message is unread. This has been going on for a while.
@Party:
Stavis describes that these woods stand on top of a minor cave network that was last he remembered being expanded when he left. Historically the drow would come up at night to hunt large game, and travellers in the forest. The biggest cavern town was NNW from here so your intended path should probably steer clear of it, though individual caves or holdouts probably pocket teh whole forest.

"From what I remember learning as a child. The Colonies are a way to help collect additional resources and have a greater power influence in the area. Unless the war as cause the need for extra patrols, groups should consist of no more then 5 members per group. Doing their patrols at night since hunting when most creates sleep makes silently dealing with even fairly large groups easier."
Stavis will move closer to examine the boot print, looking clearly agitated, to verify that it isn't from a Drow as well as any signs of state of the being making the prints, how deep, and how fast was it traveling, any signs of being pursued.

"We will want to try and conceal our camps when we rest, until we are out of their likely range and may well want to limit use of fires."
Whenever Stavis feels the group is about 5 hours away from stopping for the night will stop the group to perform the ritual Traveler's Camouflage to help conceal their tracks.
Traveler's Camouflage
Cost 10 gp
Duration 10 hours
Time 10 minutes
Nature

[OOC from this point until out of the perceived range Stavis will rest in short bursts to ensure he is awake as much as possible during the nights. Trying to limit himself to meditating for an hour or so during dusk and dawn and any time the group stops for lunch.]

Re: LPDnD: Life is a Highway
Syric's face hardens at the mention of being on top of a Drow cave system. Memories pushed down long ago suddenly bubble to the surface.

Stavis nods his head in agreement and is becoming less visibly agitated by the minute "Agreed, but we must be careful and smart about it. If we aren't we will give a trail to lead them right to use. If we are lucky enough they may not even send out any patrols during our time through here."

Re: LPDnD: Life is a Highway
@Stavis examining the boot print you are pretty sure it is not Drow in nature. Though beyond that you cannot be sure who it is, or what they were doing.

"Let's move on. Quickly, quietly. Walk on hard surfaces as much as you can, and try to avoid brushing against foliage."

Re: LPDnD: Life is a Highway
The party makes note of the bootsteps and goes a different direction until they can find suitable shelter for the night. They take time to disguise the campsite as best they can and elect not to use a fire instead feeding on bread and just wrapping an extra blanket on to stay warm on the night's chill.
