"Understood, then fight we must." Stavis will then attack with Misdirected Mark on 9.

Attack vs Reflex
[dice]0[/dice]

Damage
[dice]1[/dice]

After the attack will move towards Richard, figuring Atrios can keep him busy if necessary long enough for others to help deal with 9. If able to get to Richard will remove his weapons and bind his hands and feet if not able yet will do so once he can get to him. Regardless will call to Tony "Once he is sufficiently bond will use my healing gifts to stabilize him so feel free to help finish off those left, unless you wish to start questioning him sooner."

[OOC not sure where Richard fell so didn't move myself but we are close to being done with the map anyway so not sure how important that is at this point.]

Trinal shifts back one square to get out of melee and hits E with Dragonfrost.

d20+13 vs fort, damage 1d8+10

8+13=21, damage 3+10=13

Most of the NPC allies move, but can't attack except for Franklin who shoots at 9.

"Well, that was certainly bracing." Looking at the two paladins that were restrained, Trinal asks "Are you injured?"

Walking slowly up to them, Trinal looks sadly at Richard. "I wish you had not forced this upon us, Richard."

To Stavis, Trinal quietly asks "Anything to be done for him?"

Edit: I put Franklin instead of Stavis, sorry.

Stavis will use Healer's Gift to heal Richard so that he can be questioned before his presumed ultimate demise.

Effect: target can spend a healing surge.

[OOC yes Stavis is well aware this will mean his passing will not be easy or peaceful but is perfectly ok with that, is even willing to inflict some of the pain.

If possible Stavis would heal him regardless of him wishing to be healed at this point. :emperor: ]

"Not happy to see us? Or just unhappy you're still alive?" Trinal looks evenly at Richard.

Tony will walk over and squat down next to Richard. As he goes on his voice gets a little higher and quicker as he's clearly upset...

"Tony Plush suggests you answer Trinal's questions. And even better that you answer all of our questions...truthfully. Even though you betrayed us and stabbed us in the back after we took you in, Tony Plush trained you and went out of his way to make you feel welcome...and that betrayal Tony Plush takes VERY personally..."

Tony will pause for a second to get his composure back and take a deep breath

"If you work with us, give us truthful answers then the Phoenix Guard will release you. Do the right thing and you will get out of this alive. Think it over while Tony Plush goes and bargains for your life..."

Tony will stand up and look at the Paladins...

"Watch him, we need to have a quick chat"

Tony will then gather up the rest of the party, not including the Paladins, and take them a little away from Richard so he can't hear us and will whisper to the group

"Tony Plush has a plan. The hope is that the offer of getting out of here alive will loosen his tongue. If that happens we will honor our offer to release him. Of course the intention is to release him into the custody of the Paladins, or perhaps release him into the ruins of Silverdeep with nothing but a loincloth but that keeps our agreement as only the Phoenix Guard releasing him was promised. And it was never specified how or in what shape. Does anyone have any major objections to this plan?"

After having "saved" Richard, Stavis will look to Franklin "You are welcome to stay for this but I will understand if you don't wish to be present."

Having said his piece will turn back to Richard leaning in towards him meant primarily for him but still load enough for those closest to hear "Keep in mind I healed you just well enough that you could be questioned, be forthcoming and convincing enough and you situation could improve." will pause long enough to let the anger he is feeling from having been betrayed giving just how much convincing will be required to improve his situation. "If however you don't start talking and are truthful the pain you are still feeling will be nothing in comparison to what I and the others will inflict on you."

Diplomacy to convince him of the truthfulness of my words and hopefully cooperation
[dice]0[/dice]

Intimidation of what could happen to also help with his cooperation
[dice]1[/dice]

After saying as much will lean back and in a much loader voice for all present to hear "You saw our strength against the goblins. How did you ever see this turning out differently?"

[OOC Stavis would have said the first part before joining up with Tony saying the second part as he left to join the group]

Once in the group

"You do assume the Paladins will be staying, not sure we will be able to convince them otherwise but staying will mean their death when a real blood army comes this way after us."

"Otherwise no, though I do wonder, the man I offered amnesty who ultimately rejected for his families sake from what I can tell makes me wonder if Richard had been put in a position where he couldn't go against Razvan."

"I am not saying I don't wish on him a traitors death but a man MIA and a man known to be traitor to the blood army could mean very different things for someone important to them."

"Tony Plush considered that but how did Razvan find us? Simple, Richard told him. Back at the waypost he went and had a private talk with the shopkeeper remember. Tony Plush would bet that he had the shopkeeper send word back to Brackton on where we were going then. He sold us out days ago. That's why he volunteered to stay outside, to betray the dwarves while we were inside if Razzie showed during that time. Ask him, but Tony Plush is confident he's right."

Richard to Trinal with a painful cough "Why choose?"

Franklin elects to stand guard with the paladins as he feels he'd complicate your discussions.

Moments later in the group.

Victae cleaning her blade says in a colder tone than any of you ever heard he speak with before, "Tony I have no intention of letting him walk away and I would not burden him to the Paladins as they are short on men and supplies and don't need the burden of guarding him or another mouth to feed. I would also think they'd probably not like the idea of a traitor in Silverdeep given their reverence for the place. He ought to be dead and strung up. Get what information you want, but I'm more than able to be the executioner if needed."

"I won't discredit the possibility Tony but if they really thought they knew where we where why send as few men as they did and why would the general not be here? I find it much more likely that until Razvan returns to Brackton, they don't know where we are and are still searching for us. In which case the size of force makes sense and its not like Silver Deep would normally be out of the question to send troops to see if we had gone that way."

"With the slowness we had in getting to Silver Deep by not taking the main road I was honestly surprised we didn't have to fight soldiers from Brackton when we first got here."

"I mistrust coincidences, and I think it more likely that Razvan was able to travel faster with his men by using some virtue of that ring he wielded. I also think he underestimated us, to his cost. But he won't do so again. As to Richard... I wish he had chosen otherwise, but in our current straits, I agree with Victae. But make it a clean death when it comes."

Agreed...but what questions are we going to ask him? I don't see us getting anything but lies or silence from him, and we may not have time for more persuasive methods. We need to conclude our business and keep moving.
