They had these mega raids in EQ1 as well. I was playing the night The Sleeper was killed by a 3 guild raid force. Considering that full raids were comprised of 60+ people (iirc), that makes a total of at least 180 folks that took 3-ish hours to down the dragon.
My only wish is that I had actually been in one of those guilds during that kill, but se la vie. Enjoying 60+ man raids was a rush when they were successful.

Jeebus, I remember trying to raid with 24 in EQ2 and I thought that made herding cats seem easy. 200 is just...Blackferne wrote:Welcome!A 200 person raid? Holy crap balls. That is too big.
I have no words...
They say when you go on a quest for vengence to dig two graves. They underestimate me.

25 man is the largest I would want to be in. 16 is as large as I'd want to lead. 8-10 is my comfort zone.

I think one of my faves was in the Plane of Valor, to kill the dragon Aerin'Dar, the raid had to split into 2 or 3 groups and work in different rooms. I played my ranger exclusively for raids, and my job for this fight was to grab groups of adds and snare them, then kite them in circles for the entire raid so they didn't go kill the rest of the raid force. Usually would have a druid or two, along with another ranger or two doing the same. The rest of the raid force concentrated on the main fight.
Good times! Think that was back in early '03..
