Coming soon to a SWTOR near you...

TL;DR...
- New space combat mission: Space Station Assault. Ships flying through the innards of a huge space station reminiscent of attacks on the Death Star.
- New end-game Operation: Terror From Beyond.
- New player companion: HK-51 Assassin Droid.
- Increased level cap and new class abilities.
- New PvP Warzone: Ancient Hypergates
- New planet: Makeb. Delves into details surrounding the Hutt Cartel.
- New playable species: Cathar
- Coming in July, players can level up to 15 for free.
I'm all for new content...but is anyone else worried about them raising the level cap so soon after initial release? My main concern is that unless they back up the level cap increase with more revised endgame content, a portion of the player base is just going to be playing the waiting game again for more stuff to do.

I'm assuming that all of the new stuff is going to be tied to the level cap increase, which I'm expecting to be 5 levels. Meaning that Makeb will be the new leveling planet after Corellia and that the new operation will be tuned for the new level cap. What concerns me is no mention of new flashpoints to back up the new level cap. If all there is to do at the new level cap is to raid that's going to drive alot of people away...

And another portion of the player base will never have to play their alts because they still haven't hit 50. w00t!

I was thinking this as well, and hoping so. It would still be a bummer to me to have to go through the exact same content to get higher-level gear, but it's better than the alternative.

Bonus to that theory Dodd is you already know the fights!
Honestly I wonder how WoW would have been if every time they raised the level cap they had floated the raids to the new cap just scaling gear to entry level raiding for that tier stat wise.

Do they need to float the raids, or just create Double Extreme Nightmare mode?

It makes sense if you look at this way:
I, and many others, believe that the game is hemhorraging subscribers. How do you keep the subscribers you still have playing and grow the user base in the SHORT term? Its my belief that EA doesn't think they have the time to create the content that a new expansion would require and that they would lose too many subscribers in the interim. Making the first 15 levels free, increasing the level cap, and the small amount of new content fits into a short term strategy to staunch the bleeding.
I wouldn't be surprised if the whole game goes FTP in the next 6 months. They just didn't distinguish it enough from the other MMOs out there. The game is literally WoW in space.

With voice acting!
Also I must've played WoW at the wrong time cause I couldn't play it for more than a week before I decided I hated it and I see no end to playing this all of 4 hours a week.

Wasn't someone here calling Cathar as the first new race back in December? Personally a lame choice in my eyes, but I'm sure someone out there wants to RP as the Thundercats.
