The Taris Event Chapter 2
Money in-hand, Dood rounds up the rest of the crew for a quick meeting on the Delia, ramp and vents closed, before they head out.

Re: The Taris Event Chapter 2
You are in ranch country, but the Port city of Tal'Kor is sizeable. They have a spaceport for crying out loud.
It is probably the third largest city on the planet with plenty of roads headed out to the small mining towns and ranches that are all over the planet.
Most natives would think of Tal'Kor as a big city, but it's large cities are like what Amarillo or Lubbock is to NYC (if NYC is Coruscant).
Weather is nice though. It is mid summer here.

Can we trust the Gungan? Or specifically, can we trust his information?

Re: The Taris Event Chapter 2
Dood raises his eyebrows.
"The Gungan may be annoying and a bit reckless, but I don't think that he'd mislead us intentionally. As far as his information, it's anyone's guess. It doesn't hurt to look into it. It's a ship, a man, and a front organization for Kunga. Shouldn't take too much time to check out."

Syric catches Dood's look and hastily adds "Forget the comment about Wailer, that's just me being a little paranoid, but I do think we should take care in case this is a trap."

Re: The Taris Event Chapter 2
Well, that gives us some more leads certainly. If Kunga was fixing pod-races elsewhere I'm sure he probably has his fingers in anything and everything that involves gambling right here on his doorstep, so I'm going to be looking around to see what fighting and also other sports gambling options are available on planet as that might give us a lead on who and where some of his lieutenants are. It might not be a terrible idea for us to work in pairs at a minimum as well because realistically we're in enemy territory now and it's always a good idea to have someone there that you know has your back.

Klak comes in smelling like he was inside a Dewbacks ass for 3 days
"My apologies for the smell, Alvis led me to sleep (pass out) by one of the Dewbacks cages. That in retrospect was not a great idea."
He sits down and rubs his horn nub. He looks to Dood and says "If our Gungan Jedi friend has provided us acurate information, perhaps it is prudent to split up the sleuthing between our companions that offer the best chance at finding that information. Dood, you seem to be our Furry Fuhrer, perhaps you can assign discovery duties. But make sure they involve a cantina along the way, I would like to try some local flavor and perhaps something that isnt Nuna meat."
Klak looks around for another bottle of Syric's whiskey.

"Well, we're all here looking for information on Jounville, who we believe is the guest of one Kunga The Hutt. While we were in hyperspace I asked the Cerean to put together everything we know about this Kunga and put it into the ship's computer here."
[ooc]Yes, I just dropped the wiki into IC chat, cause I'm awesome[/ooc]
"Essentially we're dealing with a small-timer who's in trouble with the Exchange who has a bit of thing for rigging races. But remember, just because he's small-time doesn't mean he isn't dangerous. He may not be a Sargo, but we're on his turf here. Rumor is that we won't have any trouble running into people that work for him, and personally, I'd like to keep those run-ins to being on our terms. Let's try to be smart about where we go and what we do. I don't want to spend any more time being escorted into nice offices I didn't want to go into in the first place," Dood says as he casts a withering glare at So Leet.

"Someone short and furry who will not be mentioned did not complain when I was winning money at those establishments. I do agree about our terms though. I'd be happy to do the computer side of things, see if I can get info on current arrest records or known affiliates in the area of either Kunga or Marc. As well as working on maybe getting some schematics for the "lair" of Kunga. And I'll do my darndest to stay out of ParSec gaming establishments."
Waits for everyone to get their say in about the plan and then will head to the local holonet in the most public area he can find in case he does piss off the wrong group he wants to be able to try to get himself out of it in a large group if possible.

Re: The Taris Event Chapter 2
"OK, So's going to dig for information from the holo net and Eli's going to be checking the gambling establishments. I agree with Eli, we don't want anyone going off alone. Mr. Migs or Klak, would one of you tag along with So? Cuspar, maybe you could go with Eli, I don't think he wants my company" Syric says with a grin.
"That would leave myself, Dood and whoever isn't watching So's back. I think I might stay with the ship for now. We don't know when the Gungan gets in and we may need to make a quick dash out of here."

Re: The Taris Event Chapter 2
Before anyone goes anywhere, let's make sure everyone is funded. Obviously we have an odd situation with our "company" and multiple investors in the ship and multiple people doing work. I'm not sure how many of you are familiar with the Pirates of Tarantor, but they have a system that I think will work here.
Dood explains the democratic nature of the pirates' ships and how booty is divided up among the crew, suggesting that the members of this party adopt a similar system.
Under this system, 50% of earnings are put towards the fleet. 25% of the earnings are split evenly among the crew, with everyone getting the same share. The remaining 25% are distributed to officers and crewmembers that did particularly dangerous duty. Dood suggests that this last 25% be divided based stakes in the company, with Arillius' share put toward paying the old man back - either with cash or with swoop bikes to replace the ones he sold.
Dood asks for a vote.

"Dood, I think we need to spread some credits around in case we need them. I know some of us are running low." Syric says as he kicks himself for his last purchase.
"Since we made a decent haul we might want to also think about getting some land transportation. If we did find Jo..Porkchop we don't want to be running through the streets back to the ship."
"And remember to be discrete" he said for himself as much as for the others.

Dood nods and holds up a furry hand.
"I think that some things can be provided for the common good. A speeder of some sort may not be a bad idea and either Aderbrent can purchase that or a loan can be made to an individual if we want it registered as such."

Re: The Taris Event Chapter 2
I approve of your profit sharing plan Dood. It keeps money coming in to fund our pursuit, it gives us a way to pay back the old man and it keeps some credits flowing into our pockets as well so those of us who need them.

It sounds good to me. I'd be in favor of spending some fleet money on a speeder.
Re: The Taris Event Chapter 2
Catching up... Sorry gang.
@Eli
Sure, Eli. But I don't think you have anything to worry about with Syric. A tipsy Alvian in a stinky ship for days with the same people is a recipe for scrapping, but I hope we can keep our shit together!
After landing...
Cuspar watches the dewbacks disembarking the Delia with a wry smile. A sense of pride swells in Cuspar - NOT for a few thousand credits, but for having done something HIMSELF. (Or, with his new friends, more accurately.)
I don't really care how we split up the credits - I just am happy we're on to the next step here, with no one still attached to the med droid. And I'm happy to go investigate with Eli. I've never set foot in a Parsec facility, so I think I'll be nice and anonymous. I'm ready to go right now. Let's find our man.
At a convenient time...
Cuspar records the following using his holorecorder, and wearing his formal suit. He then transmits it to Dac. Father - the shipment has been delivered to Bryx. My colleagues were exemplary and the delivery went without a hitch. We have several days work here, and I am not certain where our next port is, but if you'll hear it again and you have unique cargo going in the same direction, perhaps we can ship for Fossar again soon. I believe this arrangement should have worked well for everyone.

Re: The Taris Event Chapter 2
Dood suggests that Klak accompany Syric and Eli accompany So Leet while they spread out to get more information. He and Bulwark will stay with the ship, and Cuspar can stay with them or accompany any of the others.
Dood divides the money as discussed, and then contacts the port authority to order fuel and other supplies (details coming later, I'm tired).
