I really don't know how receptive the elves are going to be to your presence, but Tony and I are part of a small group that have a big purpose. We have a score to settle with the Chulasa too, so you're welcome to come with us when we're done here. You kind of remind me of someone...

"Hey, given the choice between letting you all die so they can summon a demon that's going to try to eat this beautiful face or saving you, well to Tony Plush that isn't really a choice. The ladies would be traumatized if something happened to it.
And as Syric mentioned the owners of this place may not be overwhelming in their hospitality but be assured it will be much better than where you were. And as long as you don't betray us to the Chulassa at the first opportunity Tony Plush suspects we'll get along just fine.
If you do betray us though, just know that Tony Plush has a particular set of skills that makes him a nightmare for traitors. And Tony Plush will find you, and he will kill you..."

The books returned you follow the suggestion of Stavis and find where your staff is eating. When you walk up they all stop and stand at attention.

Ooc: rune priests are a handbook 3 player healer/buff class. The use runes. I was hoping to make up a new form of magic, but when I was writing I remembered that it may be a thing, so I double checked and lo and behold it is a class.

@Recon Party

You make your way along the twisting dark tunnel and eventually get to the familiar double gate. Guards standing at attention and Colonel Hoffstern with a broad smile.

"What can Tony Plush say, you wanted info and sabotage on the towers, the towers may still stand, but they are a little short on fuel now. Our friends may have additional info they gathered during their captivity. Questioning them wasn't at the top of the priority list during the rescue and subsequent escape. Tony Plush expects you'll want a more thorough report in a more private setting." Tony says with a big, smug AF smile.

@Recon team

He opens the gates and escorts you with a few soldiers on a long winding walk to a room with a table, chairs, maps, and a window overlooking the plain.
"We always watch the camp as you'd expect and this morning it seems they had a serious fire start and their horses broke into the camp a short time later causing more chaos. We saw scouts break out into the woods over there and a few mounted scouts up the road." the Colonel pours some mead for all. "So what did you find out about those towers? And you mentioned fuel, care to explain?"

"Yeah, setting that fire was fun. Too bad the second one to some of their supplies didn't work out but Tony Plush thinks setting the horses loose was a nice touch.
Anyway yes, the towers. Tony Plush can't tell you how they work but they called them demon gates. They appear to be magical constructs, assumedly, used to summon demons into this world that would then come and eat our faces. As a rule Tony Plush is very anti having his face eaten so action had to be taken. There was too heavy of an enemy presence at the towers themselves for us to get inside the tents so Tony Plush improvised. The stockade that is burning was noticed on the way in, and while traveling through the camp they were moving a caged Dragonkin toward one of the towers where eventually be was taken inside and did not come back out. Tony Plush's belief is that they were torturing and sacrificing the Dragonkin to give them the power they need to work. So it was decided that if burning the towers could not be accomplished then sabotage could still be succeeded by taking their fuel. In the form of our new friends here. Starting the fire and freeing the horses was done on the way out to cover our escape. That about sum things up Syric?"

OOC: So whatever we're on seems to be some kind of higher-powered variant, then?

Trinal looks around as they come to attention. In a crisp fashion and hopefully knowing his audience here, he says "Carry on!" and goes to get his food and drink. He'll then look for a relatively quiet location to eat his meal. I assume that there's some leadership hierarchy on the project, so if there's any of those folks about, probably with them.

Syric nods at Tony, "these dragonborn are looking to even the score with the Chulasa, there's no telling how many of their kind have been sacrificed to feed those towers."

OOC: if by whatever you're on seems to be a higher powered variant, you mean teh Bruidach were higher powered versions of runepriests, I'd say that is a mostly correct statement. If you mean the dreamed cube is a higher power variant, I don't know that I can say one way or the other at this point.

You find the officers sitting at one end of the logn table eating some kind of biscuits and gravy, As you get seated and the rest resume their chatter about some big to do outside in teh seige camp overnight. You notice the words: fires, horses, search parties in the woods.

"We are grateful for their rescue sir. We have pledged to assist in whatever means we can in the fight. I am Ragescale, and I make armor and weapons of high renound." Ragescale says.

"Agreed. I am Wyrmtox, I am a acolyte in the ways of the arcane. I am new to my life path, but I am eager to do my part." Wyrmtoz says.

@Syric

"I cannot speak for the others as I met them after capture, but I was doing my Quaestor's bidding trying to help a Dragonkin ethnic enclave in Thva Alora. Reports of kidnappings had increased and I was hoping to rescue my kind. But the Chulassa captured me and sent me off here. The Chulassa must be stopped and we are trapped here with you against their might. It would be dishonorable for me not to assist. Maybe one day I can liberate the other captured and return to my Quaestor with honor." Wyrmtoz says.

"My name is Maizan of the Blackrose family", says Maizan, I was making my way across some plains when I was set upon by a group of highwaymen. I managed to take most of the down, but I think one of there weapons was poisonous. When I came too, I was bound and beaten and stuck in that cage you found me in. I am grateful for the release, and will gladly assist you in exterminating those vermin.

"Well honored dragonkin we are glad you got out alive and we are grateful to all of you that you upset the enemy. I'll let you retreat to your quarters, and the dragonkin can stay in your sequestered hall until more permanent arrangements can be made. Though if your scholar friend finishes his work soom, it may be less permanent than we hope." Col Hoffstein says excusing you.

Trinal laughs. "That's great news. I hope it's just the start of lifting this siege."

Absent further conversation, etc. Trinal will finish his meal and return to our quarters, potentially to rest and get ready for the next session on the gate.

What's the status of the gate, by the way? How close are we to seeing it finished?

At dismissal Tony will head for our area, leading the Dragonkin to our "quarters", such as they are. On the way Tony will mention to the Dragonkin "Tony Plush should warn you that one of our party might come as a bit of a shock to you. He is not Chulassa, but is of a race you might find...objectionable. Do not let his appearance fool you though, no better companion could you ask in battle. He has saved our lives many times and likely will continue to do so."
