When we last saw our heroes they had escaped Brackton by volunteering to search for the Bishop that they had broke out of town the night before. The Baroness made them take a loyalty oath and Razvan the Scorpion has a bounty on returning the bishop alive in time for the ceremony. The commotion they set off had put the city in lock down, forcing them to back out of a job for crime lord Brick. Their allies Teagor and Klovis had not been seen since the operation to rescue had gone down.
Once out of the city they were faced with a tough decision. Their four guardsman in their search team would surely be killed if they returned and their families would be if they didn't. Victae gave Corporal Sluggs and Arthur wounds of various severity to make it easier to sell the story of they fought the team but the Phoenix Guard had escaped. Richard and Franklin however decided to join the team in a bid for freedom and adventure. The party met up with Stavis and are now plowing into a snow storm on the mountain side as they make their way off road toward Silverdeep, the dwarven city demolished by War Wizard Moltke of the Army of Blood.
Will they get through the snow unscathed? Can they trust their new allies? What awaits them in the destroyed ruins of Silverdeep? Stay tuned!
First watch is uneventful except for the increased snow.

Re: LPDnD: I'm Sticking With You
Second and third watches go without incident. By morning the wind has died down but the snow is now up to mid thigh. It is cold and it looks like the snow is stopping for now. You are 15 miles ESE of Brackton, 2 miles south of the main road. Silverdeep is 100 miles to your NE.

Off we go. Do we know of any villages or hamlets in the mountains near our route?

When both Franklin and Richard are awake will ask both either waiting for both or each in turn "How far do patrols from Brackton usually head up this way? I would imagine we want to wait at least one more days travel before getting on the road. That is if we choice to, though the weather may force us if it gets too much deeper."

Note: Snow shoes will make for a +2 bonus on endurance checks. Cold weather gear (which you guys bought) is another +2.

Syric's fingers are a bit too cold to properly make the second set so he will go back to prepping to leave.

Trinal tries, but fails (got a 14) to make some snowshoes. He gives up with a grimace and says "Guess I'll have to slog it. Does anyone know of a village or hamlet in the area where we might be able to trade for some additional cold weather gear for these two?"

Stavis will attempt to help Trinal and Tony fashion snowshoes so everyone has a pair of shoes to make the trek a bit easier.

"Well lets head that way, staying off the roads and will probably have to assume Brackton has sent men as I'm sure they will for all towns close by. So will want to camp a ways out and send a group in again like we did when we first arrived at Brackton."
If he was unsuccessful will ensure those two are at the back and thus as easy a time as possible since everyone in front will help make a bit of a snow path. As they travel will ensure the group rotates who is in front making sure Richard and Franklin are keep towards the middle, using the excuse of them not having the heaver furs.

Re: LPDnD: I'm Sticking With You
They party sets off after breakfast (and arts and crafts time) into the snow. The snow is mid thigh so those on snow shoes are greatly relieved, those without are working hard to make progress, slowly. The best part is that the wind is not very strong today and the sun is starting to peak through the clouds here and there. All that said it is still pretty cold.
As you ascend in altitude I will need everyone to make an endurance skill check. DC 20. Cold weather clothing gives +2 snow shoes an additional 2. If you fail you lose one healing surge until the next time you are out of the elements in a permanent structure with a fire for the night (like said trading post).
Victae
[dice]0[/dice] (has cold weather gear, no snow shoes and a +11 to end)
Richard
[dice]1[/dice] (has no shoes or gear)
Franklin
[dice]2[/dice] (has no shoes or gear)

Wow that sucks.
All three of them have a slight blueish hue to their face and have lost a healing surge.

Endurance +2 shoes +2 gear
[dice]0[/dice]
After seeing Richard and Franklin get considerable shades of blue will get up his furs to be shared amongst them, stating he spent his far share of winters outdoors in his younger years and will likely be one of the members to first head into the town and not having the gear will result in less questions on my the gear is needing to be purchased. Does contemplate giving his snow shoes to Victae but things better of it given the responsive he is likely to get and not wishing harm on himself.
