Hi folks- I've been away for a while, but I'm still around. I've updated the Minecraft server at rivendell.cyclometh.com to the latest snapshot (19w40a, released October 2). I was on stable 1.14.4 for a short time but that version has massive CPU usage issues and was causing the server to crash. I'm hoping this newer snapshot is better.
I'll be keeping an eye on it and keeping it up to date with subsequent snapshots and when a new stable version is released, I'll update it to that.
Cheers!

I should get back on and play minecraft again. It has been forever since I've played.

My kid (TheCatInGrey) was waxing rhapsodic about the Barad-Dur replica someone made. Truly impressive stuff.

If I had to guess, it seems like a Bulwark thing to do.

Re: Server updated
Since my last log in I see someone (Bulwark) built an Alamo (complete with basement) and a HEB.
Jess says the HEB needs to have curbside pickup.

I built it before HEB had curbside pickup.
BTW, all the food in the HEB comes from an auto farm in the back of the store.

I DIDN'T MOVE WRONGLY! THAT IS LIBEL!
I did however try to swim in lava as a way to get back to spawn quickly. It didn't work as intended.

You move like a Tool video. But that might be from lag.

Re: Server updated
At the time I was riding the nether rail to the Lonely Mountain and I don't know how or why this works but there are slab half blocks running above the rail and it seems like you move through them. Not sure if that is the cause of the issue.

Re: Server updated
The half blocks keep the zombie pigmen from standing on the rails and stopping the train.

Re: Server updated
Nah, usually "moved wrongly" is from lag and the server detects you somewhere it didn't expect. But I've upped the memory, and maybe I should upgrade the number of CPU cores too. It costs more but with less memory it was crashing every few minutes on the latest snapshot.
