I've been playing with this tool called "Chunky" that lets you do renders of scenes in Minecraft. They are extremely high-quality and can take days or weeks to do, but are frequently worth it.
If you have a scene you'd like to see rendered, let me know what it is and where it is so I can set up a render for it.

I've set up a micro render farm (OK, one virtual server) that can render Chunky scenes. If you want to get a good high-quality render of a scene from our server, here's what you need to do:
* Option 1: Take a screenshot of the scene from your game and post it or send it to me. Let me know where it is and how you'd like to compose the shot. I'll do my best to set it up.
* Option 2: Get a copy of Chunky and let me know you need a server backup. I'll send you the most recent one. Load that in Chunky, set up your scene, and save it. Send me the scene files so I can render it.
* Option 3: Do option 2 but just render it on your system- this is very CPU-intensive, and can take days, which is why I set up the render server.
If you use any custom texture packs that you'd want in the render, you'll need to send that to me also so I can add it to the rendering machine's setup.

Do you have any examples of scenes you have rendered?

Here's a quick sample. I did this one last night, it took about 6 hours and was 15000 iterations. I've got another one going of a night shot of the whole town, I think it'll be gorgeous.
What's a good way to get the file to you? It's about 250 MB.
