Batman v Superman (spoilers)

Post by Blackferne » Mon Mar 28, 2016 4:01 am

Saw it this morning. I think it suffers from the common Snyder problem of trying to cram too much into the movie. This was dark knight returns slapped onto Batman and Wonder Woman's spy movie, glued to the death of superman, and a justice League kickoff party.

Overall I enjoyed it, but think WB's attempt to Jumpstart their cinematic universe has suffered from this. Snyder makes pretty movies, but he needs some serious help in making a manageable story arch. Watchmen felt overstuffed as well.

Though I do give props to a lex luthor who had a non real estate scheme.

6/10 and really curious what the extended blu-ray will look like.

I liked it a lot. I suspended my expectations for coherence (because Snyder), and enjoyed it enough visually to give it a 7.5/10.

I think that they do need to remove Snyder from story decisions. I do think he makes gorgeous shots in most of his movies. But we need a story teller to work with the writers and editors, figure out what needs to be filmed and hand Snyder a shot list.

I liked it, but thought the editing was awful. I hope the R rated cut July 16 fills in a lot of gaps.
