Constantine Season1

Post by Blackferne » Mon Oct 27, 2014 4:58 pm

Watched the pilot. Of the DC comic shows on the air I think it had the weakest pilot, but it also is the hardest I think to get going since it requires a good deal of exposition. That said I think it was pretty good and worthy of continued watch to see where it goes.

My history with Constantine is him in JL: Dark so I'm not super well versed on the character, but they seem to catch him pretty well from what I can tell.

I'd sad Lucy Giffiths won't be staying on the show, though her American accent did slip a time or two. But they could always bring her back. Manni (black guy from Lost) was pretty good. Like to see him in this.

I enjoyed it and am looking forward to where it goes from here.
Spoiler:
As much as I like the map be an explanation that Constantine is going to be traveling around to fix issues. I do find it a little hard to believe that some how Constantine will be able to to help make much of a dent unless she was able to divine much father into the future the farther you got a way from the starting location, making it to me more a shock and awe of how screwed up the country has gotten and in need of someone like Constantine.

If they had meant for Constantine to take care of all of that would have made more sense to have Lucy Giffith's charter hidden away and safe piece milling out groups of locations, as well as give a way for her to be a technical part of the show without her physically on the screen.

Spoiler:
Ok with Episode two and showing the blood droplet re-hydrating to show the next locations makes that map much more useful.

Season 1 is done. I was pretty surprised how much I came to like this show. It isn't the best of the comic book shows (Flash, Arrow, Agent Carter), but it was consistently entertaining. I hope it comes back, but I hope they don't try and over do it. This seems like a show that would be good for 13 episodes in a season. I really hope NBS is moving to allow those kind of things to happen.

I only watched the first two, have the rest on my DVR. I liked the first two. Almost done with Agent Carter now.

It exceeded my expectations. I would have liked to have seen another season, but I guess I can take solace in with this going bye bye I won't feel overprogrammed trying to put the new comic book shows in next fall (supergirl and the flash/arrow spinoffy thing).

PS iZombie....kinda quirky but I'm liking it.

With the romantic plotlines and the voice over, plus medical background I jokingly call it Grey Matter's Anatomy.
