As the group left Stavis would put his mask on "I intend on starting with the mask on to ensure restitution is finalized first. Only after there being interest in the gate being build would I reveal my heritage."

@Stavis "Okay then." Atrios says leading the way into the temple. An old priest refers you to a community room where Almuth and his entourage can be found playing draughts while they talk.

"I see an audience with Almuth, nephew of the Exiled King of Silverdeep. I am Atrios of the gatekeepers, with me are Zelvo and Torvo. We come seeking an audience with our good friend Stavis, noted bard of the Phoenix Guard. We come to make restitution and amends. Will you hear us?" Atrios says.

A dwarf around forty with blonde locks and a long braided beard, steps up from watching a game. "I am Almuth, what news do you bring?"

"We defended the gates of Silverdeep as best we could, but unfortunately we were found lacking." said Torvo. "However we did encounter the Phoenix Guard and Stavis here comes to propose an offer we wish to take to the king."

Almuth looks to Stavis head cocked to one side.

"There is a plan I would like to seek approval of but first as you all may or may not have heard, the Phoenix Guard has recently returned from the Citadel. What you probably don't know is that when we left to create the gate there we where still in need of supplies."

"To that end we entered entering Silverdeep and acquired the materials needed" Stavis would than list what and how much was taken as well as the fact that it had been acquired from the vault as well as the other group we had come across and their grantee to make restitution.

[OOC I'm assuming a platinum would more than cover what was taken but if not let me know.]

With that he will hand over the amount to cover the materials plus some "With that the Phoenix Guard has honored our debt. To which you may recognize what my plan is but to spell it out exactly I wish to help fund the expedition to build a gate at Silverdeep. So that the town might start the rebuilding process and work towards its former glories."

@Stavis
A platinum would definitely cover it.

"A bold plan, but let me ask you this, the mountain is still cratered I assume, and we'd need dwarven workmen to rebuild, but to my understanding the Army of Blood still holds Brackton, and so we'd need additional arms to defend out masons and carpenters. How does your plan account for that?" Almuth asks while looking at his nails for a moment.

"The blood army does indeed control Bracton still, which also would mean an active gate at Silverdeep would be quite enticing by the Southern Alliance as a staging point to correct that. Hopefully meaning their aid in helping to rebuild and defenders when needed."

"Obviously these ideas of mine are suggestions. One being to get assurances by as many parties as possible with their own gates that should the need arise they will come to the aid of Silverdeep to defend it. This could mean tabling building the gate at Silverdeep until enough assurances can be made."

"One of my original ideas would be that the group responsible for building the gate use the working gate that the Phoenix Guard used and make the entrance unusable when they enter. If the Blood army can be kept in the dark and assume the town is still abandoned workers and the like can work in peace. Which a small group crossing the mountains via starting from the Citadel should be able to succeed in that. With either repairs to the entrance or secret entrances built when able. The biggest down side to that is the potential threats from bellow."

He will begin to remove the mask as he states "To that end I feel there is something you should be made aware of though do wish to mention. First, I give assurance that I am and will continue to be in the dark in the process of creating gates. Secondly, I solemnly promise that I will never step foot in Silverdeep again without the approval of the King or those that act in their stead. Finally, that I will take to the grave any information that could be used against Silverdeep by any enemy of the town including those that are my brethren." will than remove his mask

"I may be the primary force behind this idea, but will assure you that others in the Phoenix Guard can be called upon should you wish to see this endeavor done without my involvement." He will not resist and will cut his conversation short should the dwarfs react before he is finished.

Almuth ponders for a moment. "Drow I cannot say the King would accept you at face, but Atrios' reputation and honor speak volumes, so if he trusts you so shall I. I will discuss with the Dwarven King the proposal, and pending his approval we can proceed. I do think it needs to be coordinated with the Mortal Alliance. To regain Silverdeep and then lose it quickly would be too much of a heart break. I thank you for hard work and kindness in our concerns. I do think that we might send someone to train on how to build a gate so the Phoenix Guard can be free to do other more important tasks, though we may call upon you if the need arises."

Taking the medallion in both hands, Trinal bows from the waist and says "Thank you very much for your generosity, mister Bertram. And thank you for allowing me membership in your organization, Mr. Zecas."

After any small talk, etc. Trinal will start reviewing the books suggested. OOC: I'm not sure how Alister could help, but if he can, I'll be polite and let him. Trinal won't really attempt to hide anything from him or anything like that.
After much research and listenign to Alister's boastful stories he does stumble upon something that you find useful. One of teh symbols on the drawing is involved in an unrelated work, that was translated.

https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B4WEg ... kFta3RHRTg

So one of the symbols on the cube Stavis dreamt indicates chamber.

"Of course, the Professor is also knowledgeable and so can train any you wish to learn process should Trinal, the member of the Guard who knows the process, be unavailable. I would though mention so that those who are sent to learn understand the weight of that responsibility. It would do us no good to build gates across the alliance and allied fortification for an enemy learn the process and more importantly a gates address or what will start as an avenue for allies to come to aid could quickly become the means we loose it all."

"To that end if I was to be responsible in creating a group to be sent to build a gate, would make sure the gate builder understands and is willing to do what ever is necessary to ensure they do not fall into enemy hands."

Assuming there is not more to discuss in detail Stavis will bow and mention "As long as we are able, the Phoenix Guard will always come to your aid, be that here or at Silverdeep." he will than put on his mask and leave, heading straight back to headquarters.

"Well unfortunately it seems no one has done a comprehensive translation of the ancient tongue and runes. And so most runes from that time would be translations based on contemporary sources, and usually related to something that is about. The book that had this was talking about how to build fortifications to repel the southern invaders, specifically the old empire, and so it was relevant to the discourse. In a way you might have to just plow through lots of ancient chaff to get to the wheat as it were. I'm not sure if my analogy tracks, I've never been to a farm." Alistar says.

Presuming he has the time until the evening meeting, Stavis would meditate in the corner to allow himself the opportunity to stay out later at whatever tavern he ends up playing at after said meeting. That way he doesn't disturb the peace and quite Syric and Mazian where enjoying.

[OOC I will add that unless noted Stavis would got without his masks while at headquarters. Though keep one at hand should someone arrive that would feel more conformable with him wearing it.]

@Trinal

You plow into the books and find yourself learnign a lot about the northern campaigns. Specifically that the Northwest coast was some of the most unruly parts of the Empire and required a near vigilant posting of legions of soldiers to quell the occasional uprisings by the locals. There were legends of an island over the sea to the west where the natives were so savage the Legions never even attempted to land there for fear of having to waste even more resources on an occupation which could prove even less fruitful. "Some folks seemed damn committed to remaining uncivilized" one poet wrote while accompanying his father on a campaign. Unfortunately this island to the best of your knowledge doesn't show up on any known maps. also you don't find any of the other runes on the square in your research. It is getting late in the day and you feel your eyes starting to go crossed.

"Well, that's it for me for now. This island is interesting but without anything more to go on, I think we'll have to table this for the moment."

Trinal thanks Alistar for his help, and will make sure everything is put away, then return to our HQ.

After breakfast Tony will excuse himself and head over to the Temple of Avandra to see what they want.
[OOC we are still missing Tony as far as I can tell, is that on purpose or oversight?]

Until Tony arrives Stavis will stay in his spot meditating but will respond to Trinal "Not exactly surprising that it will take some time to fully unravel and lucky enough seems we are still without a direct plan of action on what next to tackle. At least it seems we have been without visitors so far." Stavis will momentarily look to Syric and Mazian presumably getting a confirmation.

"Though would suggest we look to hire whoever will be looking after the place in our absences so we aren't having to ensure someone is here, don't mind helping but there is a difference from accepting a drow will live under this roof and me being a direct part of the hiring process. Also may not hurt to setup a bounty board here so any wishing to use our services could post their request there."

will pause for a moment

"You know Trinal might not hurt to see if the Conservatory has a like minded board to get help looking for the translations by offering money rewards for solving the different symbols."

"In any case so far the Dwarfs seem interested in my suggestion of building a gate at Silverdeep though will require the cousin I meet going to see the king about the idea. So for now until I get word back that plan is on hold."

[OOC Maizan are you interested in the hammer, there was in inquiry while your charter was present though may have been over looked so figured I would ask more directly. Would hate to assume the answer is no and work towards selling it when you were.]
