Stavis finding Victea with Syric in practically a corner and a seeming lack of romance in the air or other signs the pair wishes to be left alone, decides to swing by the bar to fetch three drinks.

When he returns to the pair will pass off a drink to each completely unwilling to take no for an answer first the Victea "Glad you could make it Victea, would have been a shame to not have the whole group present for the festivities and you did contributed no small part in this endeavor succeeding."

As he passes the drink to Syric a bit sternly but still in a festive manner "Don't lolly gag on the fringes too much, or Tony may inadvertently convince the crowd he single handedly pulled this all off by his lonesome."

"We must show a strong presence this evening tofurther prove we can accomplish the difficult tasks and hopefully quell any nay sayers. As well as help ensure we don't have some try to take advantage of us by helping give the necessary materials and or funds to accomplish those feats. Not to say we wouldn't help those would can't pay but if we can get jobs that pay out well will mean the more we can accomplish the quicker."

"This is no less a battle field, and potentially much more dangerous as there is always the possibility of those that have become jealous of our accomplishments and would wish to see us fail or even fall." he will get subtlety quieter as if drifting off in remembrances for the last part

After a slight pause will shack off the cobwebs give a slight cheers with his cup to the two before downing his in one go "Well back off to the trenches I go."

@Stavis and Syric "The jester here is right, you need to tip the scales, these.." Victae says as she waves her hand at the whole room, "..are the weights you need. Look at those two men talking to Trinal, they are bigwigs at some magic school thing. Tony's talking to the bishop of his church. You've go the Professor talking to General Watson's who's status is rising. I mean hell you've got exiled dwarves there, Ambassador from Quel'Arae there. The Freeborne Isle Ambassador is showing up supposedly. There are plenty of people for you to impress so they give you what we need to win this thing. You know like I do we face a existential threat to the mortal plane. These people don't understand that útreikningur is imminent if we don't put everythign we can into defeating the enemies. this is your chance Syric. Put on that aw shucks charm and win some hearts and minds."

@Tony "My priest was pretty impressed with you. I just wanted to take you aside for a moment and answer a question he didn't know. My Brackton counterpart is safe and sound at least as of last report. Your friends were very grateful for the help as are we all. I know tonight you'll have a lot of people wanting your attention, but I was hoping you'd come by the temple tomorrow or next and have a longer chat about your place in the church." The Bishop says. His look, voice, and mannerisms are a lot like the actor Brian Cox. Sort of the kind of man who is a bit hard pressed to get terrible emotional, and has a bit of embarrassment in showing gratitude.
"Tony Plush is quite pleased to know he's safe. It's like Tony Plush told your priest, when Tony Plush rescues someone he likes to make sure they stay rescued. As for your invitation Tony Plush sees no reason why he can't stop by tomorrow. The Phoenix Guard does not have specific plans right now so Tony Plush's schedule is rather open."

Tony will raise his drink in salute and move off into the crowd, assuming his high bishopness doesn't stop him. As he moves away Tony will go to grab a bite of food and use that time to take 10 on perception looking for unattached ladies to chat up.

@ Tony as you bid the bishop farewell and start your prowl again your world stops as you lay eyes on a brunette in yellow dress. If this was a movie your eyes would widen and your mouth would go agape as Sixpence None the Richer played in the background. She is standing next to an older man in foreign dress, wearing a jacket with emroidery than you are used to seeing. He has on a powdered wig as well.

Tony will take a second to collect himself then start working his way through the crowd, using it to conceal his movements to get close to the woman in the yellow dress without her observing him and Tony will take some time to try to determine if she is with powdered wig dude.

@Victae and said more with a voice of Detachment than one of anger:
"These people are nothing to me, because you're right, they don't understand the útreikningur. We had to practically beg them to let us go to the Citadel in the first place. I know we need to use them, but if they wanted to honor us they could have simply pointed us in the direction of something useful..."

Syric sighs but grins at her, "I promise to be on my best behavior Vic, the night is still young."

OOC - I was aiming more for reserved, quiet and aloof than Sullen and unsociable. Syric was just hanging back watching the gears of the party in motion before Victae approached.

Between 6-10 squares of Syric: +1 Diplomacy

Tony will give a moment to see when she might have her attention away from her papa and Tony will slide up next to her
"Evening my lady. Enjoying the festivities?" Tony will say with his best smile and a small flourish of his cloak.

@Tony She giggles and smiles and bows her head slightly. "Why yes I am. And by your cloak I assume you are one of the famed Phoenix Guard that everyone is talking about? What's your name so I might know who I have the honor of meeting."

"What, this old thing? Tony Plush just threw on the first thing he found in his closet." Tony says with a second flourish of his cloak. Tony will take her hand and give a small bow over it and kiss the back of it. "And what may Tony Plush call you my lady?"

@Tony "Tony Plush may call me Lady Roslynn Swiftheart, daughter of the Freeborne Isle Ambassador." She smiles at your gesture of the hand kiss. "something tells me you are a dangerous man Tony. Need I be worried?"

"Well Lady Roslynn Swiftheart, daughter of the Freeborn Isle Ambassador, when you choose to take up the profession Tony Plush has a certain level of danger is required. Lacking that one would find himself forcibly retired from the business quite quickly. Tony Plush gives you his word as a gentleman that he will protect you should danger befall you this night."

@Tony "Well Tony, if villains interrupt this evening I'll be sure to give you room to do your dangerous work."

@All the head server starts calling everyone to their seats for dinner. There is a head table for the Phoenix Guard and a few high ranking generals and then long row tables for everyone else.

As everyone takes their seat General Watson begins a speech.

"Ladies and gentleman, esteemed guests, and of course the heroes of the hour, the Phoenix Guard. We are gathered here tonight to recognize the hard work and courage these men and woman did in achieving what seemed like a mere fantasy when they left Waterdeep those months ago. The trek was long and through dangerous and hostile lands. They crossed the border into territory the Army of Blood controlled. Went through the town of Brackton and while their rescued a Bishop from ritual sacrifice. The Church of Avandra tells me they are grateful for this heroism. They ventured into the ruins of Silverdeep and came out to then cross the high mountains in the bleakest of winter. Then without the legendary citadel knowing of their intent, managed to persuade the temple of martial training standing since the Empire of old, to allow them to come in and build an experimental arcane device. They infiltrated the Chulassa camp and rescued dragonkin being prepared for some kind of sacrifice. They are truly more than mere men. They are heroes. And with them at our side I see us turning the tide of this war, and staving off great threats. Three cheers for the Phoenix Guard!!"

A chorus of "Hip,hip, hooray" repeats three times and there is a hall full of standing clapping and hollering.

The general continues "And now to present the Phoenix Guard with a token of the King's appreciation is his brother Prince Jere!"

The hall stands at attention as the band plays the Royal hymn and from the door the prince walks up followed by his attendents carrying three chests and a painting covered in velvet.

He takes the head of the dias with his attendants behind him. He is middle aged, wiry, and has receding blonde hair. His vestments are blue light blue velvet with gold trim.

"Be seated." the hall obliges. "In times of war it is paramount to make sure that the sacrifices and accomplishments of the brave do not go unrecognized. It is just to reward the heroes for their deeds not only for the value of the deeds themselves, but the inspiration they provide to the common foot soldier. For the spirits raised in the hard work of the farmers feeding the army, the blacksmiths toiling away making armaments and armors, the nurses and physicians tending the ill, and the noblemen who must provide leadership for all. These inspirations are worth far more than we can give today, but we will do our best to do what we can." He signals for the first chest. "The crown for deeds done in aid of the war effort presents the Phoenix Guard with 2,800 gold coins, in hope that they may continue to better themselves for all within the mortal alliance. Also we present on behalf of Queen Helen a diamond of rare cut." He then signals for the second chest "The crown also presents the Phoenix Guard with the Warhammer of Hofzthelm, a rare specimen known for extreme power when expertly wielded." He signals for the third chest. "A bust of King Gavin the Second. It is chisled from soft marble and we hope it may adorn your hall and provide reassurance of your support from the crown." He motions for the painting and pulls of the velvet revealing a beautiful paining. "And finally the master work of Quinn Whissen titled the Martyrdom of Rochar, depecting the valiant general of the Empire of Antika Sinnum who heorically eschewed his own safety for the benefit of his men. His sacrifice was noted and he was made a saint in the old Imperial churches. The painting shows him mounted charging into the demon hive while his men stage a retreat. This is one of my favorite paintings of Whissen and I hope you will appreciate it as I have." He finishes turnign is attention to the hall. "These men and woman deserve our praise, but we should also aspire to be like them in our own fields and duties. That said assembled are many powerful people, if you have tasks that need an expert touch do not hesitate to turn to the Phoenix Gurad. I would love to have a thousand Phoenix Gaurdsmen, but alas we only have six. We should use them wisely to advance the war effort and better the Mortal Alliance. Thank you and please enjoy the dinner." He sits and the servers start serving roast chicken and vegetables, wine, and buttered breads.

Once we're settled, Trinal will say politely to the Prince, "I'm sure I speak for all of us when I say that we are humbled and deeply grateful for both the gifts and your kind words, my Prince. Thank you."

Stavis will thank Prince Jere before eating "I thank you for the kind words and promise to you and the king that the funds will be put to good use and the furnishings the honor they deserve in our halls."

"I can't promise the Phoenix Guard will grow in size to the thousand you desire but we will continue to see that new talents be brought into the fold and fostered, till the enemies of these lands be stricken from it. In the mean time we band will strive to make up for the lack of quantity with the quality that this group has been honored with this evening. Though goes without saying would ensure that that your liege know he and the king be among the honored guests ever welcome in our halls should you find a task needing a group such as ourselves."

Afterward will eat and to any listening mention Sadie's new adventuring group and the hopes that they will be help to the alliance as they grow.

The meal finishes up and the tables are pulled to allow for dancing and drinking. The band leader calls over to Stavis to join.

Though will not decline should someone request a dance with him.

[OOC yes I did leave out gender on purpose, he would obviously prefer a female requesting but being a bard he is willing to put aside his pride and comfort for entertainment purposes.]

During dinner Tony was purposely quiet and seated himself as far from the Prince as possible while still sitting with the group.
What would I need to roll to appraise the gifts given to us by the Prince?

After dinner Tony will grab himself another drink then make himself available to any ladies to dance with. And if I just happen to "accidentally" end up dancing with Lady Roslynn Swiftheart, daughter of the Freeborn Isle Ambassador then Tony will play it cool.

roll perception for the appraisal.

After dinner you end up dancing with Lady Rodlyn Swiftheart.
