Unless anyone objects I want to fast forward to the morning.
Tony is perfectly happy and content to spend the evening drinking, carousing and telling "mostly" true stories about his adventures and the women he's "wooed"

The gang settles for the night. Trinal, Tony, Syric, Stavis (though I assume he's in a corner doing something productive but quietly), Maizan, Franklin, Ragescale, and Tomaz.

Morning comes with the routine bells of the citadel ringing through the halls. Victae walks in with her father Col Meneldur.

"Rise and shine sleepy heads." She says. "Big day for Trinal. Long time coming with all we've been through"

Col. Meneldur says "Command has tried not to get our hopes up, but the spirits seem to be rising. No pressure though. I don't understand magic, but I understand it can be tricky."

Trinal rubs his eyes and smiles sleepily. "I will do my best. Let me get something in my stomach and then we'll make history."

"I'm sure you'll do fine Trinal." Victae says.

"I want to say to all of you, thank you for bringing my daughter back. I thought I had lost her, and to have her here again is somethign wonderful. To Tony and Syric, your bravery has been something inspiring. Infiltration and arson. I'd love to have men like you in my units. To Stavis, I'm sorry you've been restricted as you have. It hasn't been ideal, but in battle caution is usually the prescription for survival. I hope you understand. To the Dragonkin who joined us. You are welcome to stay here if you like, or you may travel with them back to Waterdeep. We could use a good armorer. We've not had dragonkin methods used in our armory for seven centuries, but if you'd rather go to Waterdeep and make your way south to the Jungles of your home empire, I completely understand." Col Meneldur says.

Stavis will be working away when the pair arrives and will nod a greeting to them both. He will than eat a morning meal with the group mentioning to Trinal he is working on copying the last ritual into Trinal's ritual book and should be finished before the gate is complete.

When mentioned by the Col Meneldur will respond when able "No, this is understandable and far better than I expected, and though my friends would have been displeased had it come to pass, I was fully expecting to be in a cell til I could be sent thru the gate when I arrived."

After eating breakfast with the group will meditate for four hours before finishing coping the last ritual.

"I thank you very much, my friend. I hope I can repay the favor soon."

OOC: Remind me which ones you're copying for me?

IC: Trinal will eat and get some tea/coffee, then begin whatever preparations are necessary for the gate ritual.

[OOC one of the things Stavis was doing was taking both of our Ritual books and coping each others rituals. I'm assuming when we level up can than say we have them. Though Trinal would need to take the time to learn the rituals as just having it in the book doesn't mean you can use them yet.

Here is a link to my rituals just so you know what ones that would be.

After breakfast Trinal heads off to the ritual site and begins. It will take most of the day.

Victae says to Stavis "While here, they don't want the mask on, but remember to put it back on once in Waterdeep. That city had a lot of refugees, and not all will be as understanding as the party has been."

"Yes I do plan on wearing it again when I get my gear back, even thinking of buying a couple extra to help with the spreading the tales I'm working up on the Pheonix Guard to make it feel like there are more bards than myself that knows the songs."

The day passes pretty uneventfully. As the end of the ritual approaches the party (minus Stavis) are led to the large room Trinal has been working. The floor has a 10foot circle on it with a slightly raised outer edge. There and glowing lines all over it forming geometic webs interwoven. The outer lip has symbols of various magical significance placed around and there is a stone marker at the top of the circle that is about 1foot high. It looks like it can be removed as it isn't masoned in place with the rest of the surface.

Trinal finished the ritual as he is standing in the center and a flash of blue and white light raise quickly from the circle forming a blue and white dome. It is opaque and you cannot see Trinal anymore. A faint hum is heard.

@Trinal as the dome formed you get the wind knocked out of you. You can see from inside the dome outward, but it wasn't the room you were in. You see the Professor fall out of his chair in shock and start waving his arms out of the room and shouting, but you don't hear anything.

Maizan is dressed in full battle gear assuming something big and bad is going to happen....

He heads over in search of Syric or Tony Good sirs, what is happening here today?

Syric, having slipped on his Phoenix Guard tabard, happily answers " This is a beginning, friend. This is where we start to turn the tides in this battle against the Chulasa and the Army of Blood. Trinal's just opened a door to Waterdeep."

Victae leans over to Syric whispering "Or he blew himself up." witha little chuckle.

(remember from everyone's perspective but Trinals he just got enclosed in a growing opaque blue/white bubble)

OOC: Sorry, was ferrying family to an event in another city, was gone most of morning and early afternoon.

IC:

Gasping for breath, Trinal calls out. "P-Professor?" He moves toward the edge of the dome. Does he believe it will hurt him to touch it?

The professor doesn't appear to hear you. A few other people are coming up beside him. A few men in robes and Sadie. They seem very excited by this. You don't think you'll be hurt if you touch it, though the book did mention some mild disorientation to novices.

Steeling himself, Trinal walks up to the border, pauses, closes his eyes and steps through.

He cracks one eye open and squinting says "...did it work, then?"

Trinal steps through and again feels like the wind was knocked out of him a little and is a bit dizzy. The experience fades after a moment or two.

"My goodness Trinal!" The Professor says hugging you. "We had no idea if it would work or not and then the blue bubble showed up and her eyou are! I'm so relieved! Where are the others? Are they okay?"

"Professor! Good to see you. It seems that it worked."

Trinal gestures behind him. "The others were outside the circle when it activated. They are all fine. I think I can go back through to let them know all is well with me and that I made it."

Steeling himself once more he says "It's a bit... disconcerting of an experience. One moment." Taking a deep breath he steps back through.
