Tony will be laying claim to room #4. Assuming they are all the same size. If they are not Tony will claim the largest corner room. Because he's Tony Plush and he deserves the best.

After getting his gear stowed Tony will venture out to the local temple of Avandra to pay his respects.

Trinal will thank the furniture maker and give him a tip of ten GP in order to get the stuff delivered when it's done, then proceed to the rug merchant.

Along the way, he's going to be looking out for a tailor- he needs both some new, fitted clothing for travel- and new boots- but a new cloak, breeches and doublet for the dinner tonight. Can't go to this one looking like we just walked through the Chulassan Army!

@Tony You take claim to room 4.

You make your way to the Temple of Avandra. The Temple has this weird combination of old architectural styles (columns and pediments) with bold and warm colors of flags and drapery making a nice blend. You walk into the temple, they are currently between services and a medium age priest sees you come in.

"Welcome pilgram, luck be upon you in your travels. What brings you to the temple today, and how may I assist?" He says in akind and pleasant manner.

@Trinal "Thanks for the tip. I have some stock, so I'll be dleivering this evenign to the address you provided." The merchant says.

The walk through the district quickly finds a few tailors. Selecting one you walk in. "Greetings customer, how may I assist you today?" He asks.

You go over your wardrobe list and he shows you a few examples of what he has, talks about alterations that would need to be made etc. He quotes you a price of 45gp. Though he doesn't think he can have it all done by tomorrow night and suggests that the breeches and doublet be done first, then the fitted travel clothes and boots can be done in the days that follows.

[OOC Trinal I'm assuming traveling cloak as the General gave us Phoneix Guard cloaks which I'm assuming we will be expected to wear those at the party, which does remind me we will want to make sure a cloak is gotten for Mazian.]

OOC- Yeah, I just meant that I figured after months on the road, our clothing is probably a bit ratty, so we'd want fresh pants and shirts.

Trinal agrees entirely; the traveling clothing and gear is fine to wait a couple of days, the breeches and shirt are the important bit.

He'll leave the money with the merchant and arrange to pick up the first delivery tomorrow, with his thanks to the tailor.

Now, on to find Vivre or whatever his name was.

@Trinal you head down closer to the port where the furniture merchant told you to go and find this narrow building squished between two bigger ones. Outside on the stoop are a few smaller rugs and inside you see a bunch of rugs hanging on poles that can be swung around to look at like you might view posters in a modern shop. "Allo sir, my name is Jean Vivre, merchant of rugs from the textile houses of the Freeborne Islands. The finest rugs in all the world are made there and I can bring them to you. Care to step into shop and peruse the wares mister....?" He ends on pause trying to get your name. He is speakign common, but there is clearly an accent at play compared to the local dialect.

"Trinal. A pleasure to meet you, Jean Vivre. I was recommended to you by a furniture maker in the marketplace. I'm looking for a rug to... well, tie the room together."

@Trinal "Ah so tell me a few things, first how big a room it is, second what are some of the other decorations in the room, third, what the lighting is like you know windows and whatnot, forthly if the room has a purpose such as a study or a bedroom, and finally the delicate matter if there is a budget you are working in?" Jean Vivre asks.

Syric likes Tony's corner room idea and claims either 3 or 6, with preference to the room next to the stairs leading up rather than the ones leading down.
Spoiler:
Within 5 squares of Syric: +1 to Healing surges, +3 Diplomacy, +2 Intimidate, +2 Speed on surprise and 1st regular rounds
Between 6-10 squares of Syric: +1 Diplomacy

Assuming he learns this late enough that he can't visit the mask shop today, would make plans to visit the mask shop tomorrow after meditating.

Other wise would visit the shop to buy at least one jesters mask, would also look to buy one, preferable already made, that is jester designed but has an open mouth [OOC think luchador or batman mask] that way he can play his flute while still masked unless you are saying he could already do that.

Syric will take his "free day" to walk the streets to see if he can find anyone selling cognizance crystals and a small piece of furniture appropriate for holding his scale armor

"Well, the room is twenty feet square, but has a bed, a work table and some shelves, and a brazier. Something to go next to the bed would be perfect. Probably 5 to 6 feet wide, maybe ten feet long?

The room has several doors and no windows. Its purpose is a combination bedroom and work room, and my budget is no more than 50 or 60 gold, which I know is probably on the low end but one does what one can with what one has."

Noon the day of the dinner you walk into the mask shop. I assume you are weaing your current mask? (It cannot facilitate flute)

He has a variety of ballroom masquerade masks. similar to what you have. But there are a variety of styles. some are plainer, some more ornate. They express a variety of emotions from maniacal laughter to depair. Some incorporate a variety of animals such as a long beak giving the appearance of a bird. Some look like lions, tigers, or bears. There is also a series of masks paying homage to the various gods of the pantheon. Of course the Drow pantheon is not represented.

There are a variety of masks that are mouthless cowl like. They also incorporate the various styles mentioned above. They have makeup as well should you want to put on facepaint to cover your skin tone perhaps. And finally there is an elderly gnome in the corner with a mask mounted in a vice painting as you walk in. He nods to acknowledge your presence but seems pretty set on finishing this mask. "See anything you fancy, let me know. I also do custom jobs if you are looking for something unique, but that usually costs a bit extra."

Costs range from 5g to 100g depending on what kind of mask you get.

You find an armor stand for your armor, it is just 15g. It takes a while to locate a crystal shop in a back alley of a weird ghetto of the city. An elderly man surrounded by the smell of incense and stroking his beard watches you curiously as you walk in. He has various crystals on display and various wares that are clearly not from this part of the world.

note: your room has 3 windows actually

"Ah 50g should do well for this study and retreat chambre." He says with a charismatic smile. He leads you over to a rack of "smaller" rugs most of which are 5'x10'. They have various geometric patterns, nothign super complicated like some of the showier rugs closer to the front. "I find that in rooms where people intend to sleep, these patterns usually do well to help soothe the mind and focus the tasks of reflection. Might I ask what brings you to Waterdeep? Or have you always been here, but finally have enough money to afford your own place? A young man like yourself, finally getting his first big payday?"[/b[

The Priest smiles "Tony Plush? You mean that guy who died all those years ago? Well Avandra takes all travelers and favors the bold I suppose. If you are Tony Plush, who am I to say you aren't. Stavis will mainly look for masks of similar quality to his as he will want the option for it to travel as going too fancy tends to mean only a couple uses. He will look for ones that are jester in style as well as if there are masks for Erevan Ilesere, hopefully finding a mask that fits either style that has an open mouth but covers as much of the rest of the face.

Looking to find one of each he could work with to see what each costs. Though won't be looking to custom make at this time if a mask type or feature isn't present.

Once he has picked out the ones he is interesting in will let the shop owner and let him know which ones should he ask but that he is willing to wait for him as with any art it can't be rushed. Also he figures to himself that the craftsman may well be making a mask for the party this evening.

@Stavis the two masks you pick out have open mouth, one is 25g and it seems pretty durable and depicts Erevan Ilesere. The othe ris more of a festival jester style and runs 10g. The gnome looks up briefly when you mention the masks and give syou the prices. He says to just leave the coins on the table next to him. Seeing you left the right amount he goes back to painting and says if anyone else needs costume masks for masquerades to send them by.

Stavis will buy both masks, placing 40 gold to give a small tip. He will thank the shopkeeper and promise to send anyone as well as be back himself when he needs more, jesting that an entertainer can never have too many masks.

After receiving his new masks will inquiring if the shopkeeper knows where to get some quality jesters base, think cream white clown makeup that way Stavis can wear his new the masks that have the mouth open and color that area of the face white to help conceal his drow ancestry.

"That goes for you too. You may not share our history, but I think you were meant to share our future. Our number was shrinking and we're happy to have you fight by our side."

OOC: I don't know if I missed it, but Maizan what's your class?
OOC: Maizan is 6'8" tall and about 320lbs. His class is fighter/tank.

This is a very good place. Although I have not done the secret handshake or learned the official walk yet, I would be happy to join your team. If it is ok, i will take room 2. Would we be able to setup a training area maybe outside behind the kitchen?

OOC2: What is the layout of the outside area? Does the front entry way exit onto the street? Is there sheds or stables?

OOC3: What town/city are we in? Elvish? Dwarfish? Human? Above ground, below ground? Thanks.
At one of the meals or gatherings, Mazian will inquire to the team. These people seem impressed by your group, What have you guys been up to and what let you to these peoples helping you out so much? ooc: a brief history/recap of the group.
