"I see. We're going to ask you to remain here for a short while. Thank you."

Nodding to the Major, Trinal will move toward the door. Once outside it, he says to the Major quietly "I'm thinking we should talk to Ashorkal next. Would you agree?"
"It would appear so." He says.

You two move into a nearby room with Ashorkal standign as you enter. The major waives him to his seat. "Son, we're very grateful you reported the missing essences to us, and Trinal and I are trying to check everyone's memory on yesterday to see if we can figure out where they might have been misplaced. Please answer Trinal's questions as best you can." He says with his grandpa like smile as he sits down.

"Tony Plush thinks it would be worthwhile to check on the guards at the stockade." Tony will whisper to Syric
They say when you go on a quest for vengence to dig two graves. They underestimate me.

Also how close to the middle of the camp is the stockade? And how big is it?
Tony Plush maybe be considering something rash... :shifty:

the camp is several miles wide and deep. In the center is the head leadership tents etc etc.

The seige towers are spaced about halfway from the center to the side, and a quarter from the front edge. The stockade is relatively close to the towers just a bit deeper in. Your observations have suggested that they are keeping prisoners in the stockade and periodically transported to the tents at the seige tower base to do soemthign with that purple glowing pool.

The stockade is about 40ftx40ft base and about 60ft tall on the outside above ground. Obviously you do not know if they have subterranean space at this point.

Tony would like to survey the gates to the Stockdale. See how it is secured and the number of guards.

@Tony and Syric. Tony starts towards teh stockade and Syric follows. When you get in visual range you see two guards milling on the outside of some barn like doors. The building has the feel of a large barn in its construction, not really the reinforced building you'd expect out of a more permanent settlement.

How is it sealed?

I'd like to hang for a bit and see if we can get a look inside when they come for the next prisoner if possible.
While we are waiting...

The door has a simple wooden latch.

You watch for a bit and about 10 minutes later another cart goes in and you see a few cages in there. A few minutes another dragonkin is loaded on a cart exiting the stockade towards the seige tower.

"Hello Ashorkal. Apologies for taking you away from your free time, I hope we can resolve this quickly."

Smiling, Trinal takes a casual stance. "Please tell me when the first time you saw the essences today was."

"You mean yesterday? Today I didn't see them which is why I reported it to you. But yesterday I saw them on the work table after Theos had put them there after doing the morning prep work of laying out materials for the crew." Ashkoral said.

Trinal please make a perception check.

Were the cages I saw occupied? And how close together were they?

"Those 2 guards will have to go down quickly and quietly to pull this off. If not then Syric and Tony Plush are likely dead men. Ace the guards, free a couple of the Dragonkin, set them to freeing the rest then get out. Sound good?"

Cages are occupied. They were probably 5 feet apart.

So what's the plan? When Furiel or Syrc say they are taking action we will proceed.

I believe the plan is Tony and Syric are going to go over to the stockade guards and Syric will sweet talk them into going inside with us. Where we will then kill them. Once they are dead we will tell the Dragonkin we are going to set them free so they can escape or die with honor. If there are only a few we might try to convince them to sneak out with us. A lot will mean we free a couple and leave them to free their comrades while we sneak away.

Sound about right Whitey?

@Tony and Syric walk up to the two guards who look bored.
"Oi mate. You guys our relief? We've been waiting for over an hour!" The first one says. "I am too sober for this timein the morning."

Syric looks down at the ground and gives a half shrug, "All these tents look the same, sorry "

He will walk towards the door and start to open it "So what actually goes on in here, this is my first time on duty"

Tony will walk along with Syric and smile aimiably at the guards. Tony will pause outside while Syric goes to open the door with the intent of being the last one through the door.

@Syric "It guard duty ain't it mate. You two lot stand here and if one of the lizards gets mouthy you go in and give him a smack." The guard says. He tosses the keys to Tony. "Carts are loading em up fer the demon gate so they'll be by every once in a while. The cart wheels sometimes get stuck in the ruts. There is free boards round back should that happen. Have a good shift."

The guards start walking down the street leaving southward.

Tony will catch the keys then take up a position by the door.
Once the guards are out of earshot Tony will look at Syric and give a little shrug. "That was easy. Tony Plush will stay outside and keep watch while you start freeing the prisoners. They might need a bit of convincing to not try to kill you before you open up the cage. Tony Plush will knock if there is a cart coming before it's time to depart."
Tony will hand the keys to Syric and keep watch while he goes in.
