Orus chapter 1: Strangers in a strange land

[Blackferne]

"Yes sir, I'm froma small town called Roscommon in Castlereagh county which is..." She pauses realizing that no one here would have any idea what she's talking about. "which is indeed a great distance away." She smiles.

[Maizan]

Quawff smiles big. Thank you for your time kind sir. And hands him 4 silvers (ooc: meal and 2 pints) We shall keep you no longer. Turn and head towards the Snuggly Duckling

[Whiteness]

Ooc: did we meet any of the nine or were they a group above the ones we met?

[Furiel]

@Quwaff - "We don't need your charity, the Nine will get this straightened out soon enough!" the man says looking scornfully at the pro-offered silver

@Alrek - Teringal introduced himself as being part of the Nine, the Grey, whatever that means

[Maizan]

Qwauff bows, Apologizes. As you say. Have a good day then. Pockets money and moves back to the group and onto the inn.

[Whiteness]

" You may want to take matters into your own hands there, friend. I think the nine's may be full." Alrek calls out as he turns to leave

[Furiel]

The man shakes his head as he sets back to work on the wagon wheel. You suspect that he has a lot more faith in the 9 than a group of strangers do.

You continue to make your way through Redford and you see more of the same. Refugees staying in alleys with whatever possessions they could carry with them when they left. No one looks overly hungry or emaciated, yet. But that could only be a matter of time if the goblin threat is not dealt with.

You follow the guards directions and they guide you to The Snuggly Duckling. Stepping through the door you find a busy inn. Most of the tables are occupied, many are eating dinner. The atmosphere is pleasant enough but there is a bit of a pall over the crowd. There are several serving maids moving between tables, along with a tall, chubby man behind the bar and a boy who appears to be just getting back to cleaning around the hearth.

Walking to the bar Maeve smiles at the chubby man "Blessings be upon you and may Chauntea fill your table with bounty. My friends and I were directed here to find a man by the name of Eugene. Do you know of this man and where we may find him?"

[Maizan]

[ooc]Would there be any interest in doing a table this weekend?[ooc]

[Furiel]

"Eugene, can't say that I have. But you folks look like you could use some quiet and a good rest. Pod, show these three to the private dining room!"

The boy that was cleaning the hearth turns from his work and walks over...

"This way please..." and he starts heading toward a door in the back of the room

[Maizan]

Quawff will follow the boy.

Maeve squints her eyes briefly at the barkeep and thinks is this what we were supposed to hear, wait I know "Well barkeep, refreshments would be good. If a man by the name of Eugene drops in looking for some travellers, please direct him to the private dinning area then. Blessings upon you." She smailes and bows slightly before following Pod.

[OOC granted not in yet but if I had to guess will be well before than but either time Joun mentioned should work for me.]

[Furiel]

Pod leads you through the door and down a short hallway to another door. Pod opens the door and gestures you to go in. As you enter the room you see that there are 2 individuals already in there that neither of you have ever seen before.

Both of them are human males. One of the men is a human male, a little over average height, wearing white robes. He looks fairly well groomed, but a little worse for wear. He stands up as you enter... "Excellent, I'm so glad that you made it. I was a little surprised that we arrived ahead of you, but am glad that we are now able to meet each other."

[Maizan]

Quawff smiles disarmingly, You seem to have us at a disadvantage sir. It was a long walk from where we were unceremoniously dropped off. We dusty, tired and hungry.

It also seems we find ourselves out of the fire and into a frying pan. Goblins and what not, wandering the country side, Humans packed and stacked in this tinderbox of a town waiting for a spark.

So Please. Introductions on your side first.

[Maizan]

[ooc]Day and evening time Saturday works best for me, but will do anytime Sunday if that is what is agreed to.
Also, I believe Sunday is Fathers Day[ooc]

[OOC that is correct so Sunday will be up in the air for me than, best time for me on Sunday to participate would be in the afternoon from 2:30PM to 5:45PM. As the family will either do lunch where ever my father wants and / or I will be making something for dinner for the whole family.]

[ooc = I think we're having my son's bday party this Saturday, it was postponed due to illness, I'll check and see.]

[Blackferne]

"Blessings be upon you and may Chauntea provide bounty to your table." Maeve says bowing slightly. She turns to Pod and whispers "This room is apparently occupied, is there a different room where we can wait?"

[Furiel]

Pod gives Maeve a look like she's gone mad, then he turns and walks away shaking his head and muttering under his breath.

The man in the white robe says: "Ahh, you must be Maeve, please join us. As Quawff pointed out I do have a bit of an advantage as I do know who you are and why you are here. Please come in and close the door so we can have our discussions in private."

[Maizan]

Quawff beckons the others in the room and closes the door behind them.

[Blackferne]

"Forgive me if I am out of turn, but are you Eugene?" Maeve asks.

[Furiel]

"Me, oh no, I most definitely am not. It would be difficult to be someone who doesn't actually exist. Far easier to setup a safehouse when you use imaginary people. But please come in and sit down, we have much to discuss." The man says while gesturing to the empty seats.
