The innkeeper converses with who you assume to be Mistress Alys for a couple minutes, getting very animated at one point as well. Finally he returns...

"Mistress Alys is more than happy to share her room with you, just let me know when you are ready to retire and I will have you shown to your room."

"Now would be fine. I need some time to reflect on my day before slumber as is my custom." Maeve says thinking that her brother better have the best damn kids in the realms for what she is having to do to allow the family line to continue. A strange land hostile to the gods, the nine who set us upon this withlittle concern of what we may yearn for, and companions who are fit to be a bar brawl into themselves. I pray I may survive and one day return."

"Very well, I will have Pod show you up when he returns."

After a moment Pod returns from upstairs and the innkeeper calls him over

"Pod, please show her up to her room, she is sharing a room with Mistress Alys."

Pod motions for you to follow him up the stairs

Maeve follows Pod. "Do you like meeting all the people in the inn coming through, Pod?" Maeve asks as he leads her to the room.

Quawff will follow Pod and gang upstairs to his room. Make his bed on the floor with his gear and his weapons near by. Settle in and go to sleep as quickly as possible.

Pod grunts in response and he leads you up to a smallish room with only 1 bed. There's a large, locked chest on the floor in the room and several dresses are hung up in the corner.

Maeve thanks Pod again and surveys the room to find the least inconvenient spot on the floor to set up a bed roll for the night in relation to her host. Then she will review her nightly prayers and prepare for sleep.

While you are doing your nightly devotions the door opens and the woman from downstairs with the escorts enters. She looks you up and down for a moment then addresses you...

"So, you're the little harlot that is taking up space in my room. I don't want you here, but I don't have much choice in the matter either, so keep away from me, don't talk to me and if you even snore loudly I swear to you I'll have my men come in and have you removed. Do I make myself clear?" She says with more than a little derision in her voice

"I'm sorry, the inn keep led me to believe you approved of the arrangements. My apologies. " Maeve will gather her things and leave seeking out the innkeep, and if he is unavailable, Pod.

"Thank you for your generosity ma'am. I will endeavour to be silent as possible and as little of an imposition as I can."Maeve settles into a corner endeavouring to sleep in a curled position against the wall sitting instead of lying flat. Mentally she notes that perhaps camping might be better space wise and money wise going forward.

The night passes mostly uneventfully. Mostly only because Mistress Alys's snoring, which resembles an entire team of lumberjacks clearcutting a forest all at once, kept waking you up.

Morning comes and the 4 of you meet downstairs for breakfast before setting out...

Mardak / Daren will be the first to get up early in the morning from his long years at the orphanage. When the others start to arrive its apparent that Daren is the active one lifting up a glass of ale in greeting as he eats breakfast, that he as already paid for and a gold peice to fill his flacks with liquor (about a shot glass worth). Unknown whether switching while waking up or some time after arriving at the dining hall.

When Maeve arrives Daren will comment "Its better this way as we meet the constable and possible mayor on our helping with the Goblin problem. Fear my translator may be unwilling to voice my concerns or ideas and would rather not switch in front of them if it can be helped." will be rubbing his right hand unconsciously for that last part where shackes would normally be placed, will than hold up a hand in pause as he take a drink "I do promise Mardak agreed to the switch."

If it takes long enough for the others to arrive Daren will want to get a lay of the land (wanting to know the city well enough to be able to use City Secrets), feel for how things are faring in the city, how things are going with the goblins, and if possible where they may be located. Daren will promise not to theft anything to Mardak verbally, stating the truly rich are likely gone and no sense stealing from the poor to feed the poor. Will tell Maeve that should the group leave before he gets back to let the Bran know where they are heading and he will meet them up there.

[OOC would normally do a streetwise so showing what the modifier would be for investigation and charisma, since not sure which it should be.]

Maeve will wake from her sleep express gratitude to Mistress Alys's hospitality before slipping downstairs to join Darren.

"The sooner we get out of here and on the road the happier I think I'll be." before saying to herself softly, "The harvest of our faith has many crops testing our patience. The patient and loving farmer will yield the biggest crop."

Alrek awoke suddenly, and in an instance came to grips with his new reality. Throughout the night he had experienced vivid, chaotic dreams, but on the whole was rather well rested. He grabbed his quarterstaff and set off to follow his nose to breakfast, quickly finding Maeve and Dar-Mar and joining them.

"Morning all, I see you weren't dreaming either" he says with a cheerful nod before digging into or ordering breakfast (whichever is appropriate).

"So, off to kill some goblins I guess? Good, I've got some things I'm looking to try out." grinning widely.

@Darren "If it's all the same to you, I'd rather do the talking with the constable or mayor and get us on the way. I figure mention we've been asked by the nine to look into the goblin problem, get a feel for where they are and what the town would like done. Ask if he have negotiation privileges for the town seeking an agreeable pact to all sides, then move on." Maeve says checking her pack to make sure everything is stowed properly.

Daren with a bit of a nod yes as he take another bite of food "That's fine, wasn't wanting to be the main contact but never know when a need for clarification or an idea pops up based on what we learn from them."
