OOC- Sorry, I've been away for several days, very busy.

I'll head back to the group and update anyone who's still there.

Is it possible for me to wear the disguises we are being given over my normal gear or am I going to have to leave some of it behind?

The biggest concern would be the chest plate. Either you take theirs (which would basically strip any magical bonuses your armor provides), or you wear it on top of it and get the magical bonuses minus 2. In addition if you wear both any sort of checks involving charisma or dexterity will be at a -2 as well (since it would look a little awkward when talking, and the added weight and stiffness prevents your panther like grace).

"All right, Ashorkal. Come with me. We're going to find a guard captain and ask that Ocruna and Theos be brought to a place where we can get to the bottom of this. I appreciate you bringing this to my attention. Stay with me for now, please."

We'll go find a guard captain and do those things. I'll ask that they be brought to a place where they can be questioned- NOT interrogated- separately.

OOC- what are these essences worth and what would be possible motivations for potentially stealing it, assuming this isn't sabotage? I'm trying to determine if Trinal would assume sabotage or theft.

Also, I'm going to request a squad of guards to secure the building site.

Well theft for the purposes of cashing out would be difficult since you'd need to find a buyer and given that you are essentially in a military city state at the moment all that shit would be on lockdown. Theft for intention of personal use would be possible (like imbue your sword to add power in combat let's say).

About what I figured. I'm going to try to be friendly and keep everyone at ease. But I want to get a guard captain privately to explain the situation and ask how he'd like to proceed.

@Trinal

The guards take you to an area that has several small rooms in a hallway and per your instructions Ashorkal is in the first room with a small table, a jug of water and two chairs. Occruna is in the second room with similar items. Theos is in the third room with three chairs, a jug of water, and a closed crate. The lead guard says "As your instructions we have each man isolated. do you wish an assistant in your questioning?"

"Not at the moment. If you could either leave a guard or stay yourself to ensure that there is a witness that nothing untoward occurs, it would be appreciated."

Out of earshot of the three we're going to be talking to Trinal also asks the guard captain if he can arrange to have the quarters and personal effects of the three searched for the missing essences. He's going on the assumption that since this is a military facility that there's not a question of privacy involved.

[OOC one thing you could do Joun is report back the captain's findings on him searching their rooms.]

Anyone?

I feel like we've petered out on this for now. Should we take a break do something else for a bit, and then come back to this campaign later?

[OOC If we need to take a break we can. Would say if we aren't at this point Syric agrees with the plan as stated by Tony without expanding on it but still waiting on Trinal or need some confirmation that Trinal is leaving the investigation to the Captain.

Could still be a thing of the Captain goes and looks into the three rooms to see if it is found and some general questions like trying to fill in the missing time since the one who noted the essence being missing left before they where stored at the end of the day, since there is the chance that this isn't a theft, foul play, or attempted sabotage at least based on what has been learned up to this point.]

I've been waiting on Syric because I didn't want to railroad Whitey or put words in his mouth for my plan.

Also, if we do want to take a break from this game for a bit, I have a campaign idea that I could run. It would be using the 5th edition rules, I don't want to go a lot into what it is, etc because the whole thing I'd like to start with a big twist and a bang so to speak. So if people are willing to have a little faith and have an idea for the character/class they would want to play, but are OK with minimal to no background initially for reasons that would be revealed almost immediately, then let me know if you're interested.

Side note: I've discussed with Joun already my idea and he's completely on-board and would be playing. Judging by his reaction the idea is a winner to start...

[OOC Fruiel I say go ahead and make a form post so we aren't muddying this one as well as any general info you can give like the party size, presumably we would be starting at level 1 but would want to confirm that as is its not always the case, and presumable something along the lines of being dependent on this session going on break but if we can't get the whole group together for the in person dnd I was asking about could do this instead with a new group.

I will add I am interested just not sure how soon I could come up with even a simple character sheet as I'm having a small block party this weekend so in the mist of preparing for that when I'm home but might be able to squeeze in enough time to create one. Worse case scenario I might not be able to start character building until Sunday.]
