"We should verify that he betrayed us at the trading post, and find out what he told Razzie about us and our plans. If you want to find that out and then deal with Richard the rat Tony Plush can talk to the dwarves and encourage them to abandon their post here."

LPDnD: Gut Feeling

Post by Staris » Fri Sep 11, 2015 5:45 pm

"Though may be better to ask the dwarfs for when and how he betrayed us as what they saw directly would be the truth. Also if they are unwilling to leave at least suggest making the gate inoperable with them inside the city. If luck be on their side the returning force will be more interested in staying hot on our heels for information on the bishop then worry about dealing with them."

Unless objections to the plan as put forth of get what info we can, presumably kill him, try and convince the dwarfs to leave or barricade themselves inside the city, and make our escape, Stavis will return to Richard to start the questioning.

Trinal looks at Richard. "When did you contact Razvan?"

Richard still clearly in pain says "Let's cut the crap. It doesn't matter when I contacted him. It doesn't even matter how I contacted him. He came, you defeated him, and now you'll kill me. Quick toying with me and do it."

"Why bother coming with us then?"

"Also I might suggest being forth coming as we are not in any real need to be forthcoming on giving you a quick death. Just leaving you as you are won't take all that long for the weather to take you and very little effort to ensure what little time you have left will be much, much worse."

Stavis will watch his reaction especially on being forthcoming on giving him a quick death, as the earlier the word got sent on the groups destination could mean troops from Brackton are that much closer to the group. Though not wishing it Stavis can't help but think this could also implicate Franklin as one of the best times for Richard to discreetly have a moment to slip a note or message, was in cooling the owners initial refusal for Stavis staying. Having to work extra hard to keep his anger in check as he is more and more feeling his heritage has well put this comrades into undo harm.

"Let's see, death outside the city gates or a chance to live. And given the ability to turn you in, I would have reaped big rewards and status. I've got, err had ambition."

Stavis the forthcoming comment doesn't seem to phase him much. He's more focused on the opportunity lost (see his dialog).

Tony will go talk to the Paladin's while Richard the rat is being interviewed.

"Tony Plush hates to be the bearer of bad news, but we all know that you can't reasonably stay here. Razzie was easily startled but he'll be back and with greater numbers. Tony Plush thinks he speaks for the rest of the group when he says you are all more than welcome to join us on the next leg of our quest to take the items we gained here and go to the citadel to create the gate and open up a new front in this war. If you choose not to, and Tony Plush understands if you don't, then we would suggest you seal the entrance as best you can before you leave, or drop it behind you if you decide to stay. Tony Plush would urge you to leave though, either with us or on your own. The day will come again when Silverdeep is free and a thriving Dwarven community and Tony Plush wishes that you will still be alive to see it."

Trinal sighs.

"Victae, make it quick."

Stavis will nod his agreement to Trinal and Victae before heading towards Tony and the Paladins, if Franklin is still with the Richard group will indicate for him to leave with him assuming he would probably rather not see the next part.

Victae plants her boot on Richards chest. He responds "May Bha'al torment you until your die, and from then until etenity!"

Victae responds "Nope." and does a clean sweep, clearing his head from his shoulders.

She turns to Trinal and Stavis "Head on a pike or no?"

Atrios, Trovo, and Zelvo listen to Tony.
"Lad, we know you are right. When the eye of Brackton was elsewhere, the hope for defending Silverdeep could remain, but your words are true." Atrios sighs. "We ought to seal the front gate and move on for a while. But we will be back."

When Stavis arrives if he didn't hear the words himself can tell the Dwarfs are willing to leave temporarily "Not that I would want to rush things, but if there is anything we can do to help seal the door, the faster that gets done the better. Also there is still the need to settle our debts for the items we retrieved from the vault."

"Though we may have to part ways as such now, I have not given up on seeing a gate built here and hopefully other dwarven cities to help in her rebuild and defense."

"We have some gunpowder we store a ways out in case dark days as this presented them selves to seal it off. We could help you to the Citadel and reassess there as needed." Atrios says.

"You're welcome to join us. We regret the necessity, but look forward to your companionship on the road."

Trinal will set about helping in whatever way is necessary to get us moving. He does point out that we're going to need to get some rest at some point, as most of the party is quite worn out.

Stavis will help to retrieve the gunpowder and though agreeing with the logic of the dwarfs coming with them to the Citadel, he can't help feel this will be the most trying leg of the journey. Since he will want to keep up appearances to help ensure to keep the peace and which would include having a normal sleep cycle. Though on a bright side would give him time to think over some new works based on his travels.

"Get the gunpowder, get some rest, drop the enterence in the morning then move out. It's been a long day and unless Razzie had a reserve unit nearby which Tony Plush highly doubts we probably have a few days at least til he returns. We should take some advantage to get a lead but right now Tony Plush is about to fall over from exhaustion"

"That does sound like a plan but would suggest getting the gunpowder in place before we rest for the night and extra eyes during the watch just in case."

If that is acceptable will take the first watch, keeping a fire going with if necessary one or two make sift torches in case they need to make a quick withdraw.

Unless interrupted will sleep for a watch and a half, for the half he would be up will be doing more for food prep and camp breakdown then watching to help the crew get ready for trek. If time permits during the half watch would inspect the soldiers gear for anything worth keeping to sell as well as a couple pieces each regardless to layout for the dwarfs in case there is anything they could use.

Before the crew heads out will perform Traveler's Camouflage to help make tracking them harder and/or will offer the group if they wish to also perform Phantom Steed for the potential benefits of ignoring difficult terrain.

Night passes, wounds are tended. In the morning after a breakfast and the dwarves selection what of their camp gear they will take they begin a prayer service to Pelor before going to light the fuse to close the front gate.

Trinal will stand back and wait respectfully, but also at a safe distance, as I assume the rest will also.

I assume they're going to travel with us to our next stop, so let's be off, shall we?

Boom.

The loud crack of gunpowder followed by the rumble of tons of rock deafen the ears. The front gate is sealed and the road to Silverdeep is now ended at a huge pile of rubble blocking entrance.

"It would take dedicated diggers months to clear that." Torvo says with an air of disbelief in his tone.

"Aye it would son. But we know we can't stay for now." Atrios says.

"Is there a road from hear to the Citadel?" Asks Franklin.

"Well not for a while. About 50 miles over the mountains east is where the start of one is, but last I heard it had become very dangerous for travelers due to ambush points and narrow bends which leave you vulnerable til the last second." Torvo says.

"And winter's already started in this mountain range it seems." Victae says pointing at the white mountains all around. "But east we must go since 'The Gap' is hundreds of miles south and apparently fortified to all hell."
