LPDnD: Gut Feeling

Zelvo and Torvo operate a wench to open the defenses guarding teh front gate to Silverdeep. In you walk and the gate is closed behind you. As you travel through the front gate you see a dimly lit entrance chamber with high vaulted ceilings forming a vaulted hall into the mountain. There is ornate relief work all along the walls and ceiling until you get to the part where the hall is full/crushed with boulders and various debris.

"This was the gate hall of Silver Deep. Some called it the Doorway to Wealth. The part missing over there all culminated with a huge statue of Silverbeard the Mighty. The Great Dwarven king of old. It is a shame his likeness in teh statue was destroyed. The artisan work was beautiful." Zelvo says playing tour guide. He seems a little emotional about it, but is clearly keeping it down.

The party makes their way to a small narrow short tunnel at the start of the debris. Making your way you snake between large rocks and fallen segments of roof until you end up in what looks like a Kitchen. The room has been upturned, but not as if from some crushing blow, but rather from looters over time. There is a door to the North and another door to east.

"We will be as respectful of this place as we can." Trinal looks at Zelvo. "Which way should we go?"

"The north Door will lead to Dragon's claw Road. It has access to what were several artisan shops. East Door will lead to Pine Lane which will lead towards the mines, the forges, and the temples, or would depending on the state of cave ins. I'm not 100% where will find all of your items, because we don't have a good catalog of the items still in the city." Zelvo says.

"nteresting. Would the artisan's shops tend to have gems or thorium?"

"That depends what looters would have taken before we started the guardship. There would be jewlers and silversmiths there. So it is easily imagine able that it could have some goods. But it also is closer to the surface than the mines, so an easier target for looters."

"Tony Plush votes east. Also do we want someone on point?"

"I think we should at least check the shops- if there is anything there it's going to be a lot easier to find than digging through the mines or temples. And yes, probably a good idea for you and maybe one other to be ahead- but not too far. We don't want to risk being separated in here."

Stavis will delay for a moment when he comes up to the threshold before entering the city, once inside will stay towards the back of the group if asked mentioning that he is watching the rear for any creatures that would want to attack in surprise.

When the group arrives at the statue "A travesty beyond the mere artisan value but also to the man it was honoring." Stavis will say as much in a manner akin to honoring a worthy enemy, no doubt as a result of the stories he had been told as a boy. He bows slightly to the statue before heading off with the group.

When the group reaches the in pass "Though lets not forget that the mines will more likely have more creatures to contend with, my vote is also to the shops unless we wish the clean out the whole place of any creatures that have setup in absence of the dwarfs in an attempt to help along the rebuilding efforts."

"I have to agree with Tony" Syric says with a nod towards Plush.

"We're after thorium and gems in a place that has been picked over by looters, I think we need to see what is in the mines."

Trinal looks at our guide. "How extensive has the looting been? If it's been pretty thorough, I agree that the mines are a better option. But if it's still largely intact, the shops are less likely to have nasty things to interfere."

"The fact of the matter is that looters have been here. Odds are anything that was easy to take will have been found and carried out of here. Multiple groups have been here is the impression Tony Plush got from the conversation outside. The shops are picked over and we're likely to spend a large amount of time searching for things that won't be found there. The sooner we get what we need and get moving the sooner we can get help back here to liberate Silverdeep permanently."

The east door opens to an underground street. To your left you see a large pile of debris which restricts access to the artisan district that you guys were talking about. The street itself has lareg rubble, but you are able to make passage deeper into the mountain in a gentle downward curving slope.

Everyone make a perception check (don't forget Victae's +1 racial bonus to those within 25 feet.

Tony would be on point, 60 feet ahead unless anyone argues against it.

No worries.

You proceed down teh street navigating a few boulders and large debris to make your way to a section of the city which had a cathedral in it. The cathedral is now crushed and the front wall spills onto the courtyard of the ward. Along the path you are taking you see the right half of what was once a love courtyard completely buried in a rockslide. There are various bodies huddled up. Clothes wrapping round partially mummified corpses. The sound of liquid ahead is softly audible.

Are the corpses of citizens of the city or those who attacked it?

Tony will study the corpses for a moment, from a bit of distance, looking for movement or anything that might indicate undead status.

They appear to be dwarven corpses from a distance. No movement detected Tony.
