LPDnD: Gut Feeling
It finally dawned on Syric why that smell was familiar, "...I just placed the smell, I'm sure it's rot beetles."

BTW Syric Rot Beetles tend to attack in swarms and can be particularly nasty if they are provoked.

Re: LPDnD: Gut Feeling
I just realized that you guys were waiting on Zelvo's wishes.
"If it be rot beetles, we can fight em or ignore em. Your call. Not sure what to do about the spectral ally Mr. Plush found. Perhaps make some noise liek you do with a bear so it knows you are approaching?"

Re: LPDnD: Gut Feeling
With a shrug Syric says, "Since Zelvo has no objections, I guess we're free to try and converse with this apparition."
Syric turns to look at Tony, "If you want to lead, I'll follow."
[ooc] Syric is going to tag a long if Tony wants since Melora and Avandra are BFFs, which had I realized that before, Syric would have been more gung-ho to help the priest in brackton.[/ooc]

"Anyone else?"
Tony will pause a moment to give anyone who wants a chance then will head for the spook. Tony will intentionally kick some debris, etc to make noise as he approaches.

Stavis will be pulling out the instrument from his pack while saying "Well I could pull out and play my lyre so that the spectral has plenty of time to know we are coming and hopefully our intentions being peaceful."
If there are no objections will lead the group that wishes to meet the spectral in a walk playing a gentle, peaceful tune load enough that the spectral will have plenty of time to decide if it wished to meet with the group. Stavis will pay special attention to the light to the light the spectral is giving off for any shift in mood. If he feels the spectral is not wishing to meet with the group will turn the group around.
Diplomacy for song if needed

[OOC stavis will make sure that it is a tune that goes well with with one of the more popular Avandia Hymns.

Trinal looks dubious but hefts his staff and moves with the party.

LPDnD: Gut Feeling
[ooc I was intending to lead or be close to the front since the light makes it obvious where we are headed and so my music can be heard to the spirit as clear as possible. also so stavis can be watchful of the light in case the color of the light indicates mood.

Tony waited a moment then walked off toward the ghost like a week ago. LONGEST.WALK.EVER.

Walking over to the apparition the party sings a hymn. This seems to get the Apparition's attanetion. She seems upset. Behind you you hear the clack clack clack of rot beetles. Party is up first.
The grey boxed are difficult terrain (burnt building remains. Brown is wall. The circle is a column which isn't super secure to the wall.

Stavis will hold his action of Misdirected Mark for the first enemy to attack the group as he would normally move to attack the beetles but is not wanting to turn his back to the spirit in case it proves hostile.

Re: LPDnD: Gut Feeling
That'll be 18dmg to stavis whenever something attacks the party.
(The party then runs and keep running indefinitely so as never to be attacked, yet the fate of 18 point of damage looms in the air like a specter of death- mental aside I thought I'd share)

Oh sorry missed it. It appears to be a Wailing Ghost, also known as a Banshee. Banshees per legend can paralyze unfortunate victims with fear.
