I'll take a Human Fighter. I haven't put together a character yet, but that's the template I'm thinking of.

Elf Cleric, still fleshing out the back-story before I dive into the character sheet.

Furiel - wizard of unknown ancestry. (I have something in mind but haven't gotten my 5e books yet to build it)

Well damn...that'll make this interesting, Halfling was my likely choice for race, I just wasn't sure if they would be available in 5e.

I might change, but odds are I'll stick with my racial choice.

When you have settled on your class, please link a "token" that I can upload to the roll20 interface for each of you. It is like an avatar on a forum in size. A token builder is here: https://dnd.dougrich.net/tokens/browse

Though if you'd rather use something like

or

Image

Or even one of these:

Feel free. Or if you want to get something non genre or silly and use something like:

or

That is fine too.

My Token for Wil Teasle - Halfling Monk - I can edit and crop it accordingly.

Background to follow shortly.

Would there be interest in setting up a pre-session for say a half and hour to make sure all connections are working and discuss any questions / game mechanics that we might have?

Thanks,
Maizan

I'll be on early probably fine tuning maps and crap. So no worries there. BTW roll20.net has the ability to do macros so once you kind of get a feel for your stuff, if you know you will be making a roll often you can macro it out.

Small change to make on the signup list, I'm not playing a Halfling wizard, I'm playing a Dwarven wizard instead.

Crag the dwarven conjurer is almost complete. Finished his spellbook over the weekend, which is always the hardest part of making a wizard.

Here is the link to my picture as I can't seem to get the img tag to display from dropbox. I have made my character with dnds online tool and soon to be in the process of verifying what I've built is still valid for 5e.

I have my character sheet almost done and am just finishing up my back story and equipment. It should be done by tomorrow morning at the latest.
Also, I am taking level 1 Rogue and level 9 Monk. Is that ok?

Apologies
Maizan

Here is my character sheet for Wil Teasle
https://onedrive.live.com/redir?resid=B ... file%2cpdf

Here is the character generator I used.
https://onedrive.live.com/redir?resid=B ... file%2czip

Still working on my backstory. But here is my outline.
- Wil has no memory of his mother or father. Only Fagon
- Fagon is a school headmaster and petty thief. Teaches his charges street survival skills.
- Wil excels in his training and is one of Fagon's goto's for jobs. Wil realizes very quickly that without him, Fagon's team would not amount to very much at all. A few times he had to do double and triple duty to cover for the mistakes of the other kids and Fagon himself.
- One of his marks was a temple with monks. Job was successful.
- monks show up and kill Fagon and beat some of the older boys.
- Wil is terrified and then there is complete Darkness.
- Wil wakes up in a monks cell and from then on is trained in monks traditions.

I'll get my char sheet up someday soon.

What you know about Crag the Dwarven Conjurer

Crag is your prototypical atypical Dwarf. Gruff and slow to trust even after years of traveling together Crag still does not refer to any of the rest of the group as his friends. Traveling or adventure companions yes, but not friends. For as long as you've known him Crag has ONLY gone by Crag. He does not talk about his family, his clan or his homeland. When pressed on the matter Crag will flatly refuse to speak and will threaten violence against anyone who continues to press including at least 1 barfight you are aware of when another group of Dwarves would not heed his warning.

Crag will go into an almost berserker level rage when fighting Drow. Crag will give Drow no quarter, accept no surrender and on the occasion you have fought them, when they were beaten and attempted to flee he continued to hunt them down until they were all killed and their remains burned to ash.

In spite of being a wizard Crag still wears armor and uses his trusty warhammer and battleaxe in a fight when he runs out of spells. Being a conjurer when in a fight Crag likes to use his mobility to the groups advantage. One of Crag's favorite tricks is to take advantage of his Benign Transportation ability to swap places with an ally within 30 feet. At the start of the fight Crag will use a spell like Misty Step to get behind the enemy lines and rely on his armor and spells to have him survive the round. Then on the next round he will swap spots with one of the melee fighters to get them behind the lines and wreak havoc.

As a Dwarf Crag feels a strong connection to stonework and as such he practices what he calls the ancient Dwarven art of runecasting. Crag spends a large amount of his downtime, effort and treasure in creating his runescrolls. Which function like a normal spell scrolls, however they are carved into stones which crumble to dust when the spell is cast.

I'd like to think that Jokull would get along with Crag since they have a shared desire to not talk about family and homeland along with being another martial/wizard combo. Jokull would definitely respect the dwarf's desire to stay armed and armored.

Crag is straight wizard, he just gets free proficiency with light and medium armor and with warhammers and axes for being a mountain dwarf. :rave:

And with no spell failure for armor in this edition there is no reason to not be wearing a chain shirt or breastplate.

Gotcha

my fighter is dex based so Mage Armor was a better choice vs medium armor

magic studded armor ended up being the best choice for me

Also, why the drow hate?

I didn't give Jokull an enemy, but he would definitely have an odd relationship with Dragonborn, both respecting and distrusting them. That and wizards who use their power to manipulate people.

The only answer you'll get to that is "Because they need killing...all of them."

You sense there's more to it but Crag won't talk about it.

Would we assume it's lumped into his not wanting to talk about his family, etc or a separate grumpy dwarf thing?

Also, is the 'friends' thing so bad that he'd get actually mad if I called him 'friend' or has he gotten used to us using the term?

Though I'm still putting finishing touches on Lucan's back story based on 5e differences, would get along well enough with Crag and willingness to accept the lack of being called a friendship. Even a fair bit of support on the death of Drows though not nearly as zealot in attacking retreating Drow. To his surprise not as willing to try and stop his chase as he would have thought, he pondered on that for quite a while the first time it happened.

His scholarly background meant early intrigue in the runecasting Crag was doing and though mostly failures did his best to help find literature on the subject and potentially new runes to Crag's repatriate. If Crag was willing during extended times of rest both could be found in the same room doing their own thing, Crag with his runecasting and Lucan with a book in hand reading.
