In-Person (well, sort of) session?
I blame being tired but will probably have to put me down for maybe next Saturday as I'm going to Ultron with my family around 2. So late enough should be fine but wouldn't surprise me if we do some shopping at the mall and the like after and that lead to doing something for dinner together.

Re: In-Person (well, sort of) session?
Generic background for you guys to work with. The time is current (ie these activities will be taking place about the same time more or less as the main party arriving at Silverdeep)
The Alternate Group were a band of heroes who fought bravely fought for the glory of the city of Sagemoor. Their patron is a Dorinel the Wise, Duke in Exile of Sagemoor. Their chief villain they have been working against is a Paft the Wicked. They have worked primarily around Sagemoor and the Chulassa occupied lands, and across the inland Sea into the Deserts of the Dragonscales (due south of Sagemoor on the map).
You guys have background together and have a part name. If you guys could decide on that before we play that would be great.

Re: In-Person (well, sort of) session?
Well you guys are level 10 so a while. I imagine at least 5 levels (so like 4-5 years). I don't know if you guys started off all together at level 1 or had separate journeys to come to work for Dorinel the Wise before he assembled the team.Whiteness wrote:How long have we been fighting together?
Sagemoore fell about 15 years ago to the Chulassa and the their is a weakened resistance trying to liberate it and do harassment campaigns against the occupiers.
Of note though is that the Dragonscales Desert is not ruled by the Chulassa, but is sort of a free cities zone before you get to the Dragonborn Empire deeper in the southern continent.

I might play against type and just go with a bog-standard fighter, no magical abilities at all. That's actually something I don't think I've ever done in D&D.
A man may fight for many things. His country, his friends, his principles, the glistening tear on the cheek of a golden child. But personally, I'd mud-wrestle my own mother for a ton of cash, an amusing clock and a sack of French porn. - Edmund Blackadder

I've played a wizard and an ardent, I have a lot of holes to fill still and all I know is I miss ranged attacks.

Re: In-Person (well, sort of) session?
This weekend I bought the DMG and MM for 5e and think Roll20.net is probably the best way to go. I have used it in the past, it is free and seems pretty stable overall. Now to make maps and build the encounter set pieces I want to use.

Joun, can we get a tentacle monster of some kind in one of the encounters to take care of this little issue for Whitey?Whiteness wrote:I have a lot of holes to fill.

Re: In-Person (well, sort of) session?
I may have to back out of the session Sat night. My best friends mom died today and they are talking about the funeral being on Sat and that kinda takes precedent over hanging out with you jokers. I'll know more in the next couple days, but I'm willing to step aside for Sat night for someone who can guarantee participation now.

This does't have to be this upcoming staurday necessarily as it would give me (and everyone) time to prepare.

Re: In-Person (well, sort of) session?
The following weekend I'm taking Gabby to Chicago, so then I'm definitely out. So unless we are pushing this out 2 weeks I'm probably going to be out.

Re: In-Person (well, sort of) session?
I need to get myself a 5e players handbook so I am ok with waiting a week or two.
Also, I was reading up and I like the advantage/disadvantage idea of rolling an extra d20 and taking the higher/lower of the roll.

Re: In-Person (well, sort of) session?
To build on Whitey's background. The stand alone (possibly live series?) has you guys working for Dorinel the Wise, Duke in Exile of Sagemoor. He was the leader of Sagemoor before it fell and his army was known as the Expeditionary Force. Whatever your background is, the endgame is 4-5 years ago minimum you latched onto the Expeditionary Force and after promotions due to talent, valor whatever, at some point you guys became a special force for him (which you guys get to name) Something like the Dorinel's Dragons, or The Sea Serpents or whatever.

Live Session Scheduling
I would ideally like 4-5 hours to play with 5 players max. Ideally this would give us a good amount of time to have a set piece or two, and some story to dig into. Let's figure out a when would be a good time.
Saturday May 16th
7pm Eastern
6pm Central
5pm Mountain
4pm Pacific
Or?
Saturday May 23rd

4pm Pacific
Or other date or time?

Either day works for me.
Re: In-Person (well, sort of) session?
That seems a bit late to start, if I played I'd have to step away for stretches of time to get the kids to bed.

Re: In-Person (well, sort of) session?
My issue with earlier is I won't know if my wife will be home (these next five weeks are peak busy for her job). So I'll be juggling my daughter as is. The later time increases my chances of doing a game even if jess is at work. If however the consensus is a daytime game, I can probably make arrangements for Zoe.
