Trinal nods politely. "Of course. We would like to rest in any case, the road has been long and hard. One other item I'd like to mention is that Silver Deep is fairly close to Brackton and it would potentially be unwise strategically to build a gate here, which could be captured by the enemy, until such time as we are prepared to properly defend it and use it to best effect. I'm sure you understand the strategy, as stark as it may seem."

He pauses, then goes on "Thank you for your hospitality. I wish our former companion was still with us; he elected to leave us to serve Pelor in his own way some time ago."

"Of course take your time."

"Not that I don't see the benefit to building Silver Deep's gate second, I was under the impression that though we would not what a gate taken control of, one would still need the address of one of the other gates to utilize it."

"The one question I have is your willingness for other races to help and possibly live in Silverdeep temporarily in its rebuilding?"

Atrios having retreated to his tent for prayers is unavailable for the remainder of the day.

Zelvo and Torvo take turns playing host and doing tasks necessary to maintain their defensive position.

@Stavis Torvo repsonded "We understand that for the dwarves to rebuild it will take the help of others. As long as they recognize the dwarves as the authority of the Mountain Kingdom and act accordingly, any help would be welcomed."

Evening approaches.

Syric will wander where he is allowed to, offering any insight or suggestions on improving defenses if he sees an opportunity. He's trying to be a good guest while waiting for Atrios to decide.

"Yes though things would need to be worked out with our superiors so nothing can be set in stone yet. The hope would then be a group or groups such as ourselves made its way to other Dwarven cities to build additional gates so that they could help in the rebuilding and defenses of Silverdeep and her allies."

Trinal takes the time to rest a bit. It's been a long few days.

After grub and a bit of test Tony will grab the noobs and will run them through some more training drills and tactics discussions will focus on dealing with undead enemies.

If it is clear that Atrios is not giving us an answer today, Syric will suggest we take advantage of the defenses and get a good night's sleep. "I think we may want to ask our deities if they can get Pelor to let Atrios see 'the light' and let us have what we need"

"Do not worry Syric, Avandra's luck will shine on us once more. Skilled though we may be Tony Plush knows it was not just our abilities that put us in position to save the bishop in Brackton, nor to escape the city as we did. No she was watching over us and she will not turn her face from us now. They say sometimes it's better to be lucky than good, fortunately for us we're both and with the goddess of luck on our side Tony Plush is confident our quest will be completed."

"That's good to hear Tony, I often feel like Melora and Kord would rather I just take care of things on my own" he says with a chuckle.

Night passes.

In the morning Atrios emerges from his tent.

"I have prayed and sought guidance and I think I have a solution which will be agreeable to all. One of my Paladins will accompany you into the ruins of the city to assist you and provide oversight on the materials taken. And one of your team will stay with the other two paladins here to help keep us defended and as insurance that you are acting honorably."

Trinal looks at Richard and Franklin. "Either of you gentlemen want to stay topside?"

"If no one else wishes I can stay that way the both the collection crew and defenders have healers."

If that gets agreed to will take one of the communication stones so both groups have one.

Very much OOC: I'd rather have one of the newbies stay. They don't offer as much in a fight and we really need the band together for this one.. Besides, paladins can heal each other, laying on hands and so forth.

[OOC sure but I'd rather they stick with the group so they don't seem expendable.]

OOC: I think it's justfiable RP-wise. They're new, still not fully connected with the team, and while I like them, they're still the new guys. It's not so much as treating them as expendable NPCs as it is "low man on the totem pole" kind of thing. Any military-type organization has that, and these guys should already be familiar with it.

[OOC It could be seen as trying to get around us having to honorable down there since as newer members, if the dwarfs notice which I would think they would, we might be ok with that person not surviving. That said should either volunteer unless the dwarfs are against one of them or possibly both would stay.]

"I appreciate the offer Stavis, but..." Syric looks to Richard and Franklin " and no offence guys, we haven't really had time to prepare as a unit and I don't want to make their trial run be this one." Syric looks to Atrios, "I'm not saying they can't hold their own, they fought off slavers with us, I just want to make sure everything goes as smoothly as possible."

[OOC Stavis, I won't lie that there is a bit of rping in there as well as Stavis wouldn't enjoy the thought of entering a Dwarfin city being a drow even if it isn't as an enemy.]

Stavis will look to Franklin and Richard "I leave my offer open but am willing to trade places should either or both of you choice to stay and help defend."

Stavis will then look to the dwarfs "Any preference from our hosts, your willingness to allow us enter does give you the last word in this matter."
