Trinal sighs. "My friend, we're cold, tired, wet and hungry, we just fought off twenty goblin slavers on bears, walked through more than thirty miles of hip-deep snow on handmade snowshoes, we're not in a terribly good mood, and we're not going to be thrown out into the snow over this.

However...we're not your enemy, nor is this gentleman. My friend here- " he gestures at Stavis- "is used to the kind of treatment you're giving us and simply wanted to help us get past that part of things by telling you a comfortable and pleasant untruth, but one with no harm in it. He's been a true friend and companion to all of us, has saved all of our lives on multiple occasions and it sickens me every time someone treats him as you wish to, and makes it even worse for me to watch when he's forced to try to avoid it for our sake.

So- let's try to start again with, if we cannot be friends, at least avoid active enmity, shall we? "

Stavis will turn around and start heading towards the door putting his ski mask back on not stopping to bother picking up the coins "Oh... is that so. To think what the Baroness will do when she hears this."

Trinal sticks a hand out to stop him. "I'm tired of all this silliness. Let's not let someone's bigotry make this day even worse, eh?"

When stopped with a bit of a perplexed look on his face "And what, force myself to be allowed to stay? Use violence if need be?" in a whispered tone "Don't think it didn't cross my mind that with the isolation if we kill both of them we could have a warm night, all the supplies we could need, and leave none the wiser but I will not for it would sullen my mentors teachings." will force Trinal to put his hand down so he may pass. "I will not stay in a place that is unwelcome to me, right or wrong."

"Oh..'You're not going to get thrown out in the snow over this?'! What are you going to do to me?" He asks tapping down his anger to be 'polite' to Trinal.

To Stavis, Trinal says "Of course we're not going to hurt them. But they can't force us to leave unless they have a lot more force to bring to bear than appears on the surface, and I'm not going to allow you to simply step out into the snow and freeze just to satisfy his prejudice. There's no need to be a martyr right now. Even if they don't like you, they'll put up with you, and we'll move on as soon as we can."

Trinal is obviously just plain done with dissembling.

"We won't do anything. But we also won't be leaving. If you think you can force us out, then by all means step to.

Or we could simply be polite to one another and we will be excellent guests of your establishment."

In whispered tone "Do not be foolish.

One there where horses hitched so there is probably more here then just the two. So there is still the chance all get kicked out or violence.

Two you need to be civil enough that they trade with you and at reasonable rates unless you are willing for Richard and Franklin to not be properly geared and from what we heard there are already forces at the mine.

Three Brackton must be kept in the dark as to where we are or will will have to face that entire force. We have already made a far bigger scene then I would have like so word will reach them at some point. So if me sleeping outside means we can get what we need and pull this operation off will minimal interference, then I will gladly do so."

"I don't want drow business. I don't want to bring curse upon my family and I won't walk willingly into the perils they present." the trading post guy says.

Richard says "You see this armor?"

"Yeah."

"You recognize the seal?"

"Yeah."

"Can I speak with you in the other room?"

"We'll be right back." Richard says with a smile as he grabs the trading post owners vest and leads him away.

A few minutes later they return.

"Okay here is the deal. We pay double. We never mention we ever stayed here to anyone, and trader here doesn't need to hand food, drink or anything else directly to Stavis. We will be out within an hour after sunrise. Sound fair?" richard asks Trinal.

"No. I'm tired of you being treated as some kind of filth. We're supposed to be fighting for a better world and against the exact kind of diseased mentality that puts you in this position.

I. Have. Had. It.

You've done enough to prove to anyone that you're a decent and honorable sort, no matter what you look like. I'm drawing a line, right here and right now that says I'm not going to let my friends continue to be treated this way. If they won't trade with us, we'll simply take what we need and leave coin. If they won't let us stay by the fire, we'll simply stay anyway. If whoever owns those horses wants to get involved, we have an answer. This ends now. You aren't an object of shame, and I won't tolerate you being treated as one any longer!"

Trinal blinks at Richard. "Ha, and I thought I was supposed to be the diplomat. Yes, that's acceptable. "

Richard and Franklin get basic weapons for the proficiencies, rooms, meals, etc all come to 20g. The halfling gives you a wide hearth and leaves a cauldron with soup on for you.

Trinal pays out of his gold.

[Staris]

Stavis will take a spot and ask that either Richard or Franklin pick up his coins to help pay for the stay as well as give them his gold pouch to buy any weapons they need.

[Staris]

After having a full meal of the soup will put his jesters mask on to give the owners a bit of peace of mind, playing through much of the day and night save for time to meditate and will be packed and ready to go a couple hours before sunrise.

[Blackferne]

Sunrise comes. The owner seems relieved to see you packing to leave. There aren't clouds in the sky and the wind seems to have died down.

[Whiteness]

If everyone is packed and ready, and made any other missing snowshoes(?), I believe the plan was to head to the ruins. Or are these ruins the owner mentioned not the demolished city of Silverdeep?

He was talking about Silverdeep.

Throughout the evening Tony would have been fiddling with the pin on his cloak which is in the shape of the symbol of Avandra. Making sure that the owner sees it on multiple occasions while giving him disapproving looks. In the morning before leaving Tony will address the shopkeeper..

"We have been good guests under your roof despite your bigotry and hostility. Tony Plush assumes you know what this symbol means..."
Tony will again indicate the symbol of Avandra on his cloak pin
"May Avandra turn her face from you and your shop until you repent and change your ways."

Tony will then turn his back on the shopkeeper and walk out.

@ Stavis:Yes Richard and Franklin have weapons (non magical) and heavy winter gear.

The owner looks upset(angry) at Tony's curse, but doesn't say anything.

Outside the road outside the trading post is smooth with the snow not terribly deep. You can make good time, probably making Silverdeep,s ruins within the week if the weather holds.
