[OOC I'm guessing I'm no where close and even if I had been somehow informed on the way wouldn't have been able to catch up without being very unstealthy.]

OOC: Who's "we"? Is there more than one of them?

Syric, feeling very filthy after participating in the prayer to Bha'al decides to thin the ranks of his followers. His sword already loose in his hand, streaks in an arc at the nearest guard.

OOC- ah, OK. I just glossed over the names and thought they were our made-up ones. OK, so there's four of them. Maybe we can get some followers out of this deal.

[ooc] I had assumed with having Corporal Sluggs that the others were part of the Army of Blood as well. If they were clearly villagers then Syric would have instead charged for Sluggs

OOC: I think we need to figure out if these guys are just city guards who are being used by the Army of Blood or regulars in the enemy army. Brackton wasn't always controlled by them and I assume the city constabulary remained after it fell to the Army of Blood. It's possible these are just working guys from Brackton. Of course, it's also possible they're not.

I just called Bha'al a fake god, if they're true believers I'm pretty sure they won't stand for that. But to be sure...

OOC: I read it as a resigned statement of defeat by someone caught in the middle, knowing they have no chance either way.

@Stavis you are east of town they are south. Getting over there would be tough without betraying your stealth.

@everyone else : they are city guards of a town occupied by the AoB.

@Tony: Richard kind of grimmaces some at your 'insult' Sluggs is flat faced. the other two are lowering their heads in fear of the situation.

@Syric's blade swing, it was a "checked" swing meaning he took his sword out and made an aggressive move towards one, but caught himself before even halfway extended. Think of that asshole in gym that did this:

@Tony Sluggs says "I'm what ten years older than you? I'm not a boy, and I can't run. I got family in town. If I run, they'll get arrested."

Victae suggests, "I could probably get one of them with a gut wound that looks worse than it is, and then it looks like they fought and we just got away while they attended to him."

Arthur looks at her like she is a sociopath.

She smiles. It is kind of creepy.

"Do any of you want to escape Brackton? You could come with us. If you do and attempt to betray us, your life is forfeit. But if you're willing to help our cause, maybe you can help see Brackton and the rest of the world free of the scourge that has claimed it. Obviously Sluggs won't wish it, so we'll have to make it seem as though he fought to prevent us from leaving. But if you have nothing keeping you in Brackton, may I suggest that helping us might be an opportunity not to be wasted?"


After a pause he says "Of course, you could always return to the tender mercies of Revzan."

Sluggs drops his weapon and starts to loosen his chest armor.

Richard says "I'll come with."

Arthur and Franklin are still kind of quite.

Sluggs says to Victae "Okay before you strike, do you have any alcohol? I want to take a deep drink and clean up the wound afterwards. "

OOC: Well, hopefully this doesn't bite us in the ass, but at the very least we have more swords for the fights ahead.

Looking at Arthur and Franklin, Trinal says "Well? What will you?"

At Victae, "Are you sure we have to wound him that badly? Just make sure it's not going to kill him days from now or something, please?"

"Everyone who's staying should take at least a minor wound to look like they fought, even if unsuccessfully. A shot to the sword arm would likely be sufficient."

Tony will then slide next to Victae and whisper to her
"Feel free to make it mortal on Sluggs, he's a true believer and if he doesn't die now we'll probably have to fight him later."

Arthur says "I'll stay with Sluggs." he drops his sword and turns his sword arm to victae and grimmaces in anticpation.

Franklin says "I got nothing here. I'll come with you."

Victae takes a bottle out of her bag and gives it to Arthur who takes a swig and then hands it to Slugg.

She then takes sluggs shirt and rips a few long strips.

Victae slices down onto Arthur's arm for a little gash and then hands him a long cloth to tie up his wound. He screams.

"This won't be pretty." she says and then runs her glaive into his side and immediately starts applying the strips to cover the wound. "When you get back to town, apply wine every couple of hours to the wound and make sure you change your bandages regularly." His face is contorting in pain. "Do you hear me? Apply wine to teh wound AND change your linens!"

Arthur and Sluggs are now sitting on the ground writhing. "And one last thing as we go, if they ask who did this, all of this, tell them it was the Phoenix Guard."

And she starts off to the east.

"Let's go." Trinal gestures to Franklin and Richard. "We move east, keep quiet and let us know where the other patrols are so we can avoid them."

Tony will follow to the east as well.

After we've been going for about 30 min Tony will announce..

"Tony Plush has to relieve himself, no need to wait, be right back."

Tony will hold up a hand and in his palm where Trinal can see it will be the sending stone.

Once behind a tree "doing my business"

"We've left town and are heading east to link up, advise we have 2 possibly friendly civilians with us so proceed accordingly." into the sending stone
