Trinal chuckles at the punchline. Quietly around the mouth of his ale tankard he says "We should look into this... baptism." Putting down his tankard he goes on, "And we also need to acquire some jewels. Brackton may be a good place to look for them."

Stavis after finishing his meal and drink will look to the group should they need him.

Should that be a negative will grab his bag head back to his spot pulling out his flute as he goes. When he gets to his spot will move his chair out of the way putting his bag on it so to ensure he has it when he wishes to sit down again. Once everything is set will begin to play a happy set of tunes while at the same time jumping and dancing about in his spot. In the hopes of both brighten up the mood and bring as much focus on himself and revelry so the rest of the group can plan with less worrying of prying eyes and ears.

While Stavis is eating a man looking like this approaches the table.

Image

He looks the table over and then at Stavis and says.

"Eh minstrel. I'm in the mood for a song while ayes talk to me new friends. I'm paying for a tune and it is along one so I'm gonna shell out THREE gold. I want to 'ear the Wolves of Anton Abbey. I love that song. If you could play by the 'earth so all the pub can hear it. And aye em paying three gold so aye expec' you to sing all fourteen verses!"

He slaps the gold in front of Stavis and sits down and grabs some of Syric's bread.

"'Ello gents an lady, aye make it my b'ness to know all newcomers to town, case they be looking for work and what not. Names. Makel."

BTW Stavis Wolves of Anton Abbey is a long well known song. It is like Don McLean's American Pie. It has a long version and more often played short version which cuts out a lot of the middle.

"That I can do and unless you wish the shorter version, for this much gold you get the long and any other songs you may request that I am able the rest of this evening. I'm thinking of living the play in hopes of improving drink sales but promise to play Wolves of Anton Abbey after I've done the first song."

Stavis will stay long enough to conform he doesn't want the short version before picking up the gold and heading over to play.

Trinal notes this and points out the interaction to the others at the table. "I wonder who this gentleman is? That much gold is not something one should simply flash about in a town under these circumstances."

Syric takes his eyes off his bread and refocuses on the interruption currently calling himself Makel.

"Yes, that is a lot of gold to be flashing for a song. Tell me Makel, do you welcome all travelers this way?" as he places his hand on his ale before it too is lost to the newcomer.

"My employer is a man who has special needs. And judging by what I see, a trained warrior with a glaive, a 'Alf elf in apprentice robes, and another 'alf elf with weaponry of impressive build, I think you ought to talk to him 'bout employment oppourtunities." Makel says. He doesn't seem to acknowledge Tony as part of the group, nor Stavis in his mannerisms.

"I'm not sure we could be much help to your employer, we're likely just passing through here." Syric says before taking a drink, his eyes never leaving Makel.

"Though if the price is right, we may be interested in staying in Brackton a bit longer."

Makel looked at Syric gnawing on a chunk of bread.

"The way I see it, as my employer pays me to, you aren't just run of the mill travelers. The three of you are the sort who 'ave a certain exposure to risky situations and circumstances. Your clothes aren't made in the north. I can see that from the seam work. Brackton is a loomtown, and you'r clothes ain't like the loomwork round here. Which means either you are from the far south or you killed someone from the far south. Either way your resume is impressive and I think it would be worthy of your time to speak with my employer."

Tony will continue sitting at the table looking at Makel with a bemused expression on his face.

"Well Makel, as you've said, we're travelers, and we are just looking for a bed and a meal tonight. Is there somewhere we can call upon your employer tomorrow to discuss this further?"

Stavis after finishing his first piece switches to the Lyre and performs Wolves of Anton Abbey. While performing will glance over to the group from time to time to see if any decision has been made that might require him be involved later.

Syric will wait until Malek is gone before taking his eyes off him and returning his gaze to the party at the table.

"I don't really trust this Malek, but it may be the best lead on finding the gems and items to get essences. I definitely didn't like being identified as a person of interest this soon after entering town."

Syric take a drink before continuing, "I had been looking forward to a soft bed tonight, but I don't think I'll be sleeping easily after all..."

"Syric, you have to admit, we don't look like farmers or simple traders. We carry weapons, have armor, and we clearly aren't part of the local martial force. My guess is that the employer whomever he is, has Malek keep an eye out for 'adventuring types'. And we certainly fit the mold. Best case in my opinion is just say we are interested in the four Ws of adventuring wealth, weapons, whiskey, and wenches." Victae says with a smirk. "Play the part and have some fun with it."

Image

"Hey barmaiden, get me a round of ale for my friends!" Victae says slamming her mug on the table strong enough to break the mug.

With a smile Syric says, "I hope that's all it was Victae, I just don't want anyone else taking notice of us while we're here."

"I want people to take exactly as much notice of us as they would any other group of adventurers. If we try too hard to be unnoticed that's in itself going to draw attention. Perverse, isn't it?"

Trinal takes a drink of his ale.

"Did anyone else find it interesting how Tony Plush was excluded by him the entire conversation as well?

Be that as it may there are some old contacts here that Tony Plush may be able to get more information from if he leaves shortly to meet them. There should be no danger and Tony Plush believes he is best off attending this meeting alone."

Tony takes the stone and leaves the pub into a biting cold wind. The remainder of the party is in the pub drinking and listening to Stavis play.

After finishing Wolves of Anton Abbey will pull out three Shuriken and juggle with them for a bit before switching between his two instruments for the remainder of the evening unless the group indicates to him to come over.
