LPDnD: Straight Outta Brackton!

In the chat we had when I originally met Treagor and Klovis I made mention of us needing some items for our quest they might be able to help us acquire, but it wasn't followed up on and I didn't tell them what they were because Tony didn't have the list. So ultimately I did mention it but there was no follow through.

So if there is no expectation of additional reward then yeah we should be leaves on the wind.

Okay so you guys pay your tabs and leave teh inn. The streets are largely absent of traffic as soldiers are doing building to building searches. After you get on the street a few soldiers come up and ask "what are your names? Where are you headed? Where were you last night? What is your business in Brackton?" (I'm just listing teh questions in list but teh conversation would be one question one answer usually)

"Our business in Brackton appears to be leaving it with hopes of soon returning. We were in The Orange Thistle last night when the bounty was announced for the Bishop so we thought we might see about catching up to the folk that he left town with and convince them to return."

"As my companion said. We're quite interested in that bounty." Trinal gives a somewhat conspiratorial grin, with only a hint of greed.

"Who said he left town?" The Guard asks with an eye of suspicion. "If you know something you should come talk to Razvan."

[Jimer Lins]

"If he was still in the city, you or your companions in the Guard would have found him by now, don't you think? Nobody told us anything and we know as much as the next person on the street, but we're at least going to do a bit of searching. 500 gold is, after all, 500 gold."

Bluff: 10+11=21

"Well if you want to search outside the city you need to get special permission. Head to the Cathedral a couple of blocks that way and petition Baroness Jocelyn, after you get your writ to leave the city you can join one of the guard groups patrolling the countryside." The guard says motioning towards the cathedral.

[Jimer Lins]

"Thank you kindly." Trinal nods to the guard and we move off in the direction he indicates.

After he's out of sight, Trinal says, sotto voce, "Well, that's a problem. How do we get out of the city?"

[Whiteness]

"I guess we meet the Baroness." Syric says with a shrug.

[Blackferne]

"Well we could just kill all humans." Vicate says deadpan. Then she looks at Tony. "Except Tony. Nobody kill Tony," Pause....then sort of softly to Syric and Trinal " unless you have to."

[Jimer Lins]

"I'm a bit leery of exposing ourselves to more of the city leadership. Do you think we could hide somewhere and sneak out by the river or something? If that's impractical, we can simply beard the lioness in her den, so to speak."

"Well escaping at night would be easier than daylight, which means back to the inn for now I would imagine. Alternately we could try bribing someone to get out. One thing to worry about with a swimming escape however is the water is going to be cold given the season. " Victae offers.

[Furiel]

"Sucker the Baroness, leave with the guards, kill the guards out if sight of the city, meet Stavis. Or we go over the wall at night. Tony Plush votes option 1.

Also no killing Tony Plush, there ought to be a rule or something about that..."

"Option 1 it is."

As DM I want to be clear, Toyn is proposing to kidnap the Baroness?

Wait I reread, basically play teh game to trick the baroness, then kill the guards when you are out "Searching" in the woods. Okay that seems way more reasonable.

The party works their way over to the Cathedral where they are approached by a clerk type figure who asks what business they have for the Baroness today, somebody mentions that the group is searching for permit to join the search party as private contractors to help find the bishop, and then collect Razvan the Scorpion's reward. The clerk asks if your party has a name to put on the form.

What will you tell him?

"A name? We're just a group of friends, not some business. No, we don't have a name, sorry."

"And you want to stay in the same group, or can they split you up?" He asks taking notes. "Also any special talents? Tracking, trapping, etc etc"

[Jimer Lins]

"We'd prefer to stay in the same group. We're pretty good at tracking and searching."

[Blackferne]

"Okay. Good and tracking and searching." He says aloud as he writes, "prefers to stay together. Okay since your group doesn't have a business name, I'm going to need first names then, for our records. And after that I can get you assigned to a group, then into the Baroness for the loyalty oath, then off."

"I'm Karl." Trinal smiles.

[Blackferne]

"I'm Jounville Blackferne. Be sure you spell it J-O-U-N-V-I-L-L-E and Blackferne has an E at the end. That is important in case you guys make a plaque or statue or something after I find this guy." Victae says a bit over enthusiasticly.

[Blackferne]

"Just first names Miss Jounville. And Karl there, what about you two gents?" The clerk asks.
