"That may be the best way to go. After we find out what's going on we can plan who does what where- I'd rather if we're going to be seeing any conflict that we bring all our force to bear on it when the time comes. With the stones we can also coordinate better."

"The hope had been to bring everyone so introductions could be done. It's not until the afternoon so it's possible people could attend both. Tony Plush is more than happy to stay in reserve for the dealings with Brick, it's always good to have an ace in the hole."

"Well, if you're comfortable with bringing us along to meet your contacts, that's great. I think we were assuming they might be a bit leery of people they don't know well."

"I think we should keep Tony out of the dealings with Makel for now. If he's working for the local crime lord they could be watching us and may know Tony's met with the locals about this babtism. I'd rather Makel and Lord Brick keep thinking of us as mercenaries for now, that way if we're noticed this afternoon we can just imply that Tony was looking to hire us should it come back to that."

"I'm not saying we all can't go to the two meetings I was just concerned if we quickly drew Brick's attention we may well have the attention of those that would wish to see the baptism go through."

"I can be in range to help with either or both just wanting to ensure we are under the radar as much as possible and would hate for us to have to leave in haste and not made enough attempt at getting the materials we need for the runes."

Tony gives Victae a mock salute.

"Well played. And it appears we have a plan. The three of you go meet Brick this morning, we'll stay hear with one of the stones to keep up appearances and as vackup if things go sideways. Then as a group we meet my contacts this afternoon. Tony Plush is sure you've already planned for it but something to keep in mind with Brick is the potential for payment in gems. It's unlikely we'll have much in the way of material gain working for the church, but you never know."

Trinal, Syric, and the hungover "Victale" head off to the address left on the card Makel left, The city streets have the overnight snow (about 1/2 an inch) being shoveled/swept where needed and just left where not. The day is cold and overcast. The address is on the north shore of the river in the slums. You approach and see a building that is slightly nicer with a few imposing types on the exterior keeping the poor people at bay.

You present yourselves and are welcomed into the opening parlor. A servant takes your cloaks and offers refreshments.

"Warmed mulled wine please." Victae asks.

"Anything for the two of you?" the servant asks.

"No, nothing for me" Syric says while taking in his surroundings.

[Blackferne]

The entry room has a fireplace with a large fire roaring in it. The chairs and general decor is very plush and nice. There are some woven tapestries on the wall depicting a battle. Nothing you immediately recognize. The servant is a middle age women in nice robes, but clearly she has a "station" in the house. There is a hallway leading to the back and a doorway heading to the back located on the right side of the room.

"Tea if you have it, thank you. If you do not, I'll have a cup of the wine as well." Trinal smiles genially at the servant.

The servant scurries off to fetch drinks. There is a muffled thud sound coming from some where downstairs. It is repeating.

A few moments the servant returns with mulled wine, and some hot tea.

"Master Brick will be with you shortly." She says before leaving again.

The thumps continue and maybe a muffled scream before silence.

"Hmm." Trinal glances at the others. "That's interesting."

Stavis will head out to the different merchants looking to see if any have the materials we need and any that have masks.

being seemingly lost practically right after stepping out the taverns door Stavis will lean heavily on Tony's understanding of when he looked around the town yesterday.

A short man with a receding hairline, pale wrinkled complexion, and a working man gait about him emerged from the door. By him is a large man in leather armor with a short sword in a scabbard.

"'Ho are you?" he says in slightly confused look on his face as he wipes his hands on a small rag and hands it to the armored man.

(His accent sounds kinda like Michael Caine).

Tony wuickly is able to locate a place where masks can be found. The materials you need for the gate however are a bit more rare. No one knows of essences, but some mention a jewel shop that may have some of the gems. People aren't sure though.

Stavis will look for another jesters mask as well as one that is either black or nondescript help him be less memorable when he wishes.
