As soon as that's done and they take off, Trinal says "I hope they run in the right direction. But we have to move, now- We should assume that we'll be pursued as soon as this mess is found."

The teens scamper off holding what provisions they can carry whimpering in fear as they go off one direction.

The animals have mostly left the pen, only a few have lingered on.

Stavis will stay and watch the teens long enough to feel they are truly leaving before heading off with the group.

I guess depending on our location relative to the fires we saw, we're either going East or Northeast now.

Either E or NE would take you away from the great wood and towards the mountains. East would have you along the road more, NE dives into a pasture currently occupied by horses, goats, and pack animals recently released.

Stavis would vote Northeast as we head to the mountains but also keep our distance from the mountain pass.

Northeast into the mountains and away from the road.

The party moves quickly and quietly into the field and head northeast. About thirty minutes after you have left the spot of the battle you find yourself in a farm field and the sound of drums from the SW start to fill the air.

"Looks like they've found our handiwork." Victae snarks.

Agreed, and well done, running them off was kinda what I had in mind I just hadn't thought of how to execute that.

"Let's get the hell out of here before they can organize a pursuit."

The farmland was tilled a few weeks ago and the ground has a clompy mud like quality to it. As you walk along you find your steps being weighed down slightly. There is a farmhouse with a small fire and a few other buildings nearby. One seems to be a barn and another a windmill.

Yeah, we're going to avoid any buildings or farmland- too many ways to leave tracks or witnesses. We'll give it a wide berth and keep moving, sticking to areas that don't leave tracks, like freshly plowed fields.

You clomp your way away from the farm buildings and off to a far off pasture. The drums continue and the sky begins to lighten some. Daybreak is about an hour away you figure. You have to be a few miles from the melee by now.

"We need to find a place to rest and regroup. We should have asked those two about 'the prisoner' before we cut them loose."

To the NE as the land rises beyond the farm you see a grove of nut trees. Getting to that you find a place that provides a bit of cover. The orchard clearly is visited by the nearby farms, but the trees have lost some of their leaves and you'd wager it unlikely you'd have any visitors soon based on your collective knowledge of farming and nut orchards.

"We'd be nuts to not take shelter in that grove to rest..."

You find a nice nest. It has good lines of view, hard to see from far away. Perfect for a little relaxation before continuing.

Stavis will setup his tent and sleeping material but will take the first watch, meditate for the second, and watch for the Third.

When I take my watch with Tony, I quietly tell him "I had a very strange dream or vision. I kept barely missing getting caught in an avalanche, with an old man that seemed familiar giving me a flask- he kept saying 'Peril awaits'. I think we should get out of here as soon as possible."

Tony looks at Trinal a little uncomfortably

"Tony Plush had a similar dream, different situation but the same theme. And at the end all I heard was "Arcane Mill""

When time for Stavis's third shift will look to both Tony and Trinal "Ah, so I'm not the only one who got communicated with. I was told 'Glory awaits the cavalier. Are you cavalier?' but that can wait to convene with everyone when all are awake and ready to head off. Unless either of yours suggested we leave earlier."

Stavis can be seen visibly shock up but seemingly with a sense of calm like he has experienced something like this before. "I had a somewhat similar experience when divine intervention opening my eyes to what was about to happen with my brother and myself, that subsequently lead to my leaving."

"So I think it is safe to assume everyone had a dream while we were resting here. Do we stay here and discus that now or do we pack up and talk while we head off."
