@ Tony you detect Syric exhibiting a slight tremble. He is attempting to seem confident and sure of himself, but the prospect of Drow in the area is unearthing uncomfortable memories.

@Syric you detect Tony is looking at you. He must be admiring your bravery, yeah that's it.

Tony and Syric go to sleep and Stavis takes the watch. The night is quiet until 3am when at the edge of your hearing you hear in elvish:

"I don't know, the human's trail stopped. Stop blaming me, let's just get back."

"Master will punish you surely for this." It is probably 200 yds away.

[OOC does Stavis recognize any of the dialect or words used as being directly Drow or is it all common elvish.]

Stavis will quietly wake Tony and let him know of the direction of the two voices he heard.

The attempt to wake Tony stealthily was going great up until the point where Tony half asleep groaned in alarm.

The elvish continues

"You hear somethin'?"

"Quiet. I need to listen!"

The accent has a certain drowish quality to it.

Am I or am I not awake? Before I start taking actions...

You are awake. Basically stavis's attempt to quietly wake somehow startled you. Now you are awake and stavis has explained via hand signals there are 2 people 200 yds that way.

2 thousand yards, damn those are some good ears.

Perception: [dice]0[/dice]

I'll quietly get out of my bedroll and take some cover in the indicated direction so they'll have to go past me to get to the group.

Stealth: [dice]1[/dice]

Also I do speak Elvish.

The forest is very quiet. You look into the dark night and see nothing. Never the less you notice a few goose bumps on your skin. Stavis is awake, and Tony are awake. Everyone else is asleep. Tony moves to a spot next to some felled trees to establish an ambush point.

Roll a perception check -5. If you get above 10 on the roll you were woke.

Trinal makes a perception check: d20+4-5

1+4-5=0

I believe I'm still asleep. :shifty:

You go out slightly and walk very softly. You don't hear the perceived drow from before, but you do hear a soft trill like a large insect might make. Thinking back you remember that Drow often hire Mezzademons to work for them as mercenaries.

Seeing Tony rise and follow Stavis, Syric will draw his sword and shift nearer to Trinal and Victae and tries to wake them.

Stealth if needed.

Trinal's armor is just cloth, so he typically sleeps with it when out and about.

I'll quietly get to a crouched position and do a look, listen and smell.

Trinal looks around and sniffs the air. It smells like forest at night. You don't notice anything in specific.

Then I will stay where I am, quiet and wait to see what's going on.

Stavis after having completed his round around the camp seeing the rest of the group up, will move towards them to indite the general direction he heard what he believes to be at least one Mezzademon.

The campsite.

https://docs.google.com/drawings/d/1Gwk ... sp=sharing

Brown circles are tree trunks (can be used to break line of sight). The brown rectangles are mossy covered felled tree trunks (can be used for partial concealment).

The noise was on the west side (off map). Feel free to arrange how you want.
