Stavis has successfully scared the animals out of the pen into the direction of the ashen area of the burned forest. He has also written a drow curse on the grass.

Victae looks up from the bodies. "These guys were Shardar-kai, or at least trained by them. I seem to remember they were followers of the Raven Queen in our time, if they have switched deities or factionalized, then the world has indeed taken on some strange tidings."

"Or the worse case scenario may mean the Raven Queen has sided with Bha’al. Though unlikely we are just as unlikely to learn the full truth of it now, let us be off before the rest of the camp is aware of what has happened here. Unless there is something else we think we can do before heading off."

"Well I would say it is unlikely that the Raven Queen has aligned with Bha'al given our trials. Also the tattoos on the body don't have the typical raven queen symbols." Victae says wiping her blade clean and strapping it to her back.

"Let me take a look at that." Trinal checks the tattoos.

@Trinal

The Shadar-Kai are mystical death obssessed clans who in your time were followers of the Raven Queen. They tried to establish links from the Shadow realms to the mortal ones. Two key characteristics in combat you saw missing in this encounter. Shadar-kai were known to use teleportation magic in their fighting, none of these people did. Secondly they never feared death so the retreat at the end was uncharacteristic.

The markings and tattoos don't have the symbols associated with the Raven Queen anywhere, but have runic and ribbon designs that seem like a copy of what people would think a Shadar-Kai would use if following a different deity. Some stylized versions of the skull with blood dots are around, but symbol wise the tattoos and designs are gibberish mostly.

Inspecting the bodies you do notice a small envelop sealed in wax.

The hut has a small stove, some pots and pans. Provisions, some beans and mash were being heated. There are also tools of being a herdsman. Rope, gloves, some leather working tools for repairs. And two terrified herdsman trying to hide under a blanket.

"Interesting. I don't think these were Shadar-Kai. Let's talk in more detail later, and we can take a look at this then too." Trinal takes the envelope.

OOC: That will probably happen while Tony is doing his checking. Trinal looks at the hut, whispers "Tony, everything all right?"

"Trinal, we may have a problem. Or two. It looks like it's probably two."

Tony calls outside, then inside.

"C'mon out, Tony Plush does not kill defenseless people."

"If we wish the ruse to last as long as possible give them some food and send them off towards the closest town. That way the camp is unaware if the drow took them for slaves or the escaped while the guards where fighting."

If the group agrees to the second plan Stavis will give the two boys all of the food from his pack.

Stavis will walk up to the two herdsman "Seems safe to assume these men have not sworn allegiances with any god including Bha'al." Stavis will watch the two for any reaction they give that would suggest contrary.

Should there be no cause for concern "I can give you both two options. If you wish to stay with this army I can tie you up and make it look like you two escaped the Drow capturing you two, or if you wise to take this opportunity to leave for other areas I can promise to give food for your journey."
