Stavis takes a sip of wine and then shakes his head "I don't know about that Trianl. We'll need to get in touch with the General as well as get provisions, under more peaceful times we could still be looking at a full day for that, with the war going on you could be back well before we are even capable of leaving. That and its clear your family means a lot to you and being delayed a mere couple days isn't going to be the end of the world."

He then pauses in consideration letting a slight mischievous grin slip "This could also give Sadie a chance to help prove her competence and a stepping stone towards going with the group on some of our more dangerous endeavours. That way you aren't travelling alone and could easily include another should they wish to join."

The night continues with talk and wine before people settle onto couches and the floor nestled among stacks of books and papers.

In the morning the Professor says "If you guys are ready I'd like you to come meet General Watson. I've been assigned to him in the war effort, and I think he could be a valuable resource. I would prefer to be honest about who you are, but if you wish to take on an assumed group identity I get that. I wonder if you perhaps have a group name I can introduce you as? He tends to do better with things like Brutell's Dragons, or Helmut's Hellhounds."

Didn't we discuss this while we were "dead" and we agreed on The Phoenix Guard or something very similar to that...

The Professor packs up a few scrolls in a bag and leads you all on a walk to the general's office. Sadie stays at the Professor's apartment.

The city in the has the smoke from many small cooking fires morning. The refugees mill about and panhandle for money or food. Soldiers walk the streets trying to keep order. The professor's path takes you into a more fortified area of town. The refugees are kept out of this garrison and the Professor vouches for you as part of his team to a guard who recognizes him.

Finally after entering a large warehouse with pallets of goods being prepared and loaded onto carts you make it to the general's office. He is a human in his late 30s with dirty blonde hair that comes down to his jaw line. He hasn't shaved for a few days hand has some scruff. His tan jacket has some blue and red patches to indicate rank and honors.

"Morning professor. I trust your tables are ready to submit? And I see you've brought recruits?" The general does a subtle nod to greet you.

"Not exactly sir. This is a group who call themselves the Phoenix Guard. They, and this will be hard to believe, are the remainder of my old adventuring company. It is a miracle that they've returned, and they are eager to assist us in the great war effort. Though they have unique talents which should make their use more...selective in its application than common recruits." The Professor says.

"Professor, I have a hard time believing that the men and woman you wrote four volumes about, would have magically returned some seventy years later? Are you sure you are feeling well?" General Watson says.

"I assure you I am well within my faculties. Interview them, and see how you might use their abilities to your benefit for the war effort." The professor says laying on a bit of charm.

"As a general in charge of logistics, what I need most is more bodies, more food, and more wagons." The General pauses. "Tell me about yourselves?" he says looking you over. His demeanor is kind, but thoroughly in the system in which he works.

We are your strike force, we are the ones that will do more than hold a sword and fall into line. We are proposing that you allow us to break the seige on the Citadel." Syric says simply.

"And we also have a debt to pay" said with a tone much darker than before.

We call ourselves the Phoenix Guard when a name for the group is necessary. We bring a variety of skills to bear on our missions, and consider ourselves to be a precision instrument. We've been discussing some possibilities for how we might assist you in this conflict- such as working to liberate the Citadel. While we're not able to directly provide you with more food, bodies or wagons, we can perhaps be used to effect ends that allow you to better obtain these resources."

Stavis contemplates removing his mask since the groups history has been lain bare but decides better of it. "See to it that the Citadel is put in as best a position to be allies on this front, beyond that see where we could be of use next. That is unless there is things we could do here that would give more benefit in a shorter time frame."

Once we are successful, then it is Tony Plush's preference that we start hitting the Army of Blood's supplies. Especially their slaves camps where we could free our people and weaken the enemies support at the same time. If well used and coordinated a small strike force such as Tony Plush and the rest of the Phoenix Guard could be highly effective in that role."

General Watson looks over to the Professor for a second and the illumination sphere of an idea seems to come over him.

"If you were given texts on the construction of an Arcane device used to transport people or objects, do you think you could do that?" He asks.
