We should place our sailors in the boat. Burn everyone body else. We should pack up as much as possible into the other boat and tow it back, giving most of this stuff to the city. That bag we should burn or give to Nicolis to dispose of (assuming that syric revealed it to the group)

@Spintik The island was mainly this hall, a surrounding wall. The pier, and a few long boats.

Syric will pass the totem to Vlad, keeping a close eye on him without being too obvious.

Vlad looks confused and passes it slowly to Viggo.
Viggo looks at it.
"Oh these runes are from the Stelaaki tribe to the north. Many of the maurader bands use it for coded messages. Let me translate the letters here to common."
He tears a blank page out of his notebook and writes the following text:

Stavis after bringing the boy to the rest of the group will help load up the boats and move the bodies to the platform. When passing by Vigo and Syric will take a glance at the writing.

"If you don't mind I'll take a copy in case we are able to find someone who can translate later."
Unless objected to will take a page out of his ritual book and copy both the original runes and the translated version

You copy the runes and Viggo's translation. However it has no meaning to you at this point.

I'd like to make a Legend Lore check against the runes and the transliteration:
d20 + 8:
20+8=28 (woo)
Also, I'd like to do a quick search of the dais and the surrounding area, avoiding the goop from the overturned cauldron, of course:
Perception: d20+3: 10+3=13

Edit; nevermind, it's not a substitution cipher. I have no idea how to decode it.

"Ah hah!" Trinal says. "This is a very old, but easily defeated cipher. I didn't recognize it for a moment. Give me a minute here..." he scribbles furiously for a few minutes. "Twenty-two? Really?"
Trinal looks up, smiling triumphantly. "I have it! Here's what the message says in common:"

"If I had to hazard a guess, the Duke's son is the blue blood and was about to be 'infused' by some ritual. I think we may have just prevented some major problems here."

Getting closer to Trinal Syric drops his voice, "Did we? I mean, I don't have the most complete knowledge of history, but I don't think Bha'al came back the last time this happened. I guess we could have taken the place of whomever stopped him last time, but I think this may be more of a relevation on what his plan is back in our time than a real victory."

"Well. It is good we where able to solve that," Stavis will state quieter so the boy doesn't hear "though may want to hold off on such talk around the boy. No sense in needlessly worrying him with the ordeal still fresh on his mind."
Stavis will look around to see what if anything is left to load up "I think we are about done here, why don't we burn the bodies and be off."

"Fair point. I assumed that the ritual would embody the foul beast in the body of that poor boy. However, maybe it was with a longer-term view in mind."
