LPDnD: Life in a Northern Town

Post by Blackferne » Mon May 19, 2014 2:06 am

Having said your goodbyes to Gobo you step through what should have been the door to the kitchen hallway in Demitri's villa, but hearing choral music and seeing white light you know better. A step through you find yourself in the plain white linen clothes you had back in Bureau HQ during your initial meeting with Nicholas. He is there with you. Of the items you borrowed from Kyros those are gone. Of the items you looted from the Minotaur's labyrinth those remain. Also you each have the gold.

You find yourself in a large wooden shed. Your normal personal look has returned, as in only Ham'mon, Spintik, and Tony are human. Stavis is back to being clearly a drow. Trinal and Syric are half elves. Victae is back to being an elf.

The floor is a bit muddy and the air is a cold and seeping in from the planks that make up the walls. There are a seven chests each adorned with holy symbols.

First is a chest marked with Pelor
Second is the Raven Queen
Third is Avandra
Fourth is Corelleon
Fifth is a trio of symbols in ornatmental knots featuring Avandra, Ioun, and Corelleon.
Sixth is a duo of Melora and Kord
and finally is a nova star with asymmetrical rays for Erevan Ilsere.

"Your good works caught note, and your overseers thought you ought to be rewarded." Nicholas says.

You hear outside the shed the sounds of horses pulling wagons, commerce, and a slight rain.

"Thank you, Nicholas. It's good to look like myself again."

Trinal walks to the chest with the 3 symbols on it, bows his head and takes a moment to silently thank each, then opens the chest.

Tony will step over to the chest with Avandra's symbol on it and go to open it.

"So Tony Plush takes it we have passed and are ready to return to our world?"

"I regret to inform you that the training and trials are not complete. However the powers that be, do want to begin equipping you properly as you prepare to return." Nicholas says.

Tony opens the box and sees Shadowflow leather armor +3, a Duelist Rapier +2 which bears Avandra's symbol in the hilt design, and an Elven cloak +3. There is also a small note.

Victae opens the one with Corellon only on it and finds a Thundering Glaive +2, Dwarven Armor +3, and an Elven Cloak +3.

"The craftsmanship is exquisite!" she says marveling at the gifts. And reading her note.

"That's right, even when the tests are over I think we've still got training to go through" Syric says as he walks forward to the chest with the symbols for Kord and Melora. A lump forms in his throat as he realizes Melora has not forgotten him even though he has not been the most faithful follower. He vows to keep his elven past in his mind and honor Melora as his mother showed him. The lump quickly fades as he realizes the mark of Kord means his deeds and strength in battle have been seen and he promises to continue to give the god a good show on the field.
Spoiler:
Within 5 squares of Syric: +1 to Healing surges, +3 Diplomacy, +2 Intimidate, +2 Speed on surprise and 1st regular rounds
Between 6-10 squares of Syric: +1 Diplomacy

HP 63 / AC 23 / FORT 20 / REF 18 / WILL 21

Ah well, one cannot blame me for being hopeful.

Trinal inspects the contents of the chest.

Thank you Nicholas, looking to the sky Thank you my queen. That was a most intriguing trail.

I open the 2nd chest and examine the contents.

Smiling I wonder what sort of adventures this realm will bring?

Ham'mon walks slowly to the chest of Pelor and kneels before it. He bows his head and whispers.

"Bonum commune communitatis."

He makes the sign of Pelor and opens the chest.

Stavis will approach his chest with the Erevan symbal carefully and begin to inspect for a trap, feeling the deity may well feel he is over due a laugh, but will stop himself halfway. With a bit of a smile will open the chest, fully willing to whatever tomfoolery that my come.

"My goodness, these are remarkable." Trinal carefully picks up the note and reads it.

Ham'mon opens the chest and finds a note, a Flaming Longsword +2 (currently not aflame), a holy symbol of Pelor +2, and a magic cloth Tabard bearing the symbol of Pelor (Magic Cloth armor +3).

Stavis opens the box carefully and finds just a note. It reads.
"Shave and a hair cut..."

For everyone OTHER than Stavis the note is by one of the chief angels for your deity (deities) and generally goes along the lines of:
"We have the highest hopes for you in these trials, and watch over you eternally."
Signed whomever.

Stavis after laughing you realize that the chest looks smaller on the inside than it should based on the box size unless they used blocks of wood instead of planks.

"Patrons of mischief. What you gonna do?" Trinal smiles at Stavis.

After getting the laugh out of his system will inspect the inside of the chest to see if there is any sort of false bottom.

Stavis looks for a false bottom and is pretty convinced it is there but can't see how it is sealed or opened.

You could tap out "shave and a haircut" on it.

It dawns on you to say in a sing song voice "Shave and a haircut" and knock in time with "Two bits". The "floor of the boards evaporates in a magic puff and reveals the bottom of the chest housing leather magic armor +3, a magic wand +2, a ritual book with your old rituals scribbled in it already and a new ritual written, Phantom Steed.
