Nicholas had followed you in and is standing at the end of one of the long tables taking in the scene. And for someone with blue skin and completely foreign dress, it is remarkable that no one other than you guys seems to be able to see him. He sees you approaching and just walks to you.

Stavis will whisper and try to seem unnoticed "We where greeted as more then just common revilers joining in on the free meal. Did we replace people that could have been here or did we get inserted into the history of these people's past to easy our joining in?"

Stavis will then work his way back into the crowds to be a better understand of this council and how it works to try and determine who he would think is a better choice between the two brothers.

Syric will make his way towards Kyros and Victae, greeting them with a friendly nod, "It's a great party, but it seems I wasn't the only one looking for a little respite from the festivities. How've you been, Kyros?"

"Not well." He pauses, puts on a happier face. "Forgive me, I have some affairs to deal with weigh on my mind. I'm happy my brother is back. War is a dangerous place. How have you two been?"

"Honestly, we're doing fairly well... all things considered" he says with a wink to Victae, "Is there any thing either of us could do to help you with these affairs that are troubling you?"

He hems and haws a bit. "Well, if you promise not to say anything. See my father is gettign ready to step down, and I don't have my familial mantle. Without it I can't stand as eligible to replace him. I know people are saying I lost it gambling, but that isn't true. I don't know how that rumor got started. I'm at a loss."

[Whiteness]

"Well if you didn't lose it gambling, what happened to it? It's sad that family and friends would start and spread a rumor like that."

He hems a bit more. "I don't know if it is true, but my brother Moris may have had a hand in it going missing. He grew up in my shadow, and I think he resented me for it. Since coming back from the war last month he has kept weird hours, visited soothsayers, and even took a three day hike, but didn't tell anyone where he went. He's more confident now and boastful than as a kid, so maybe military life helped him grow. All I know is I had my mantle last spring in the Primavera Rites, I put it in my chest in my room, and when I went to check for it two weeks ago, it wasn't there. Father said I probably misplaced it, but if I couldn't find it, then I wouldn't be fit to sit on the council. Why does fate deal me such a cruel hand?"

Victae reaches out and consoles him on the back.

Spintik will keep the conversations going, but will note the location of any weapons in the room and will also keep a dinner dagger or two handy.

@Syric "I just don't know what to do. Without the mantle, I can't stand for recognition, and if I can't stand, then I can't serve the council. What should I do?" Kyros asks.

[Whiteness]

"Hey, let ol' Syrios help you out. Vicania and I may have more luck trying to find out what really happened."

"Oh thank you!" He looks around. "Tomorrow before noon, come back here, assuming you don't pass out from drinking, and we can talk more freely." His mood is grateful and more upbeat.

"Will your mother be here tomorrow?" Victae asks.

"I doubt it. She has temple prayers tomorrow." Kyros responds.

"Aww, that's too bad. We'll just have to visit her at a later date, but you can count on Syrios and a few friends of ours, to swing by and help." Victae looks happier than before.

Syric continues "Speaking of friends, there's a few people I need to go speak to, take care Kyros and enjoy the party. Don't let the rumor monger know they've gotten to you." as he gives Kyros a friendly slap on the back before heading back to the party to look for his teammates.
