Trinal looks at Tony. "I know I can't be the only one who wonders about a 'League of Death' being mentioned as active in an area when there's graverobbing going on. What's your thought? Go see Drayson tonight or possibly stake out a cemetery?"

@ Trio in the sheriff's office
The Sheriff adds, "I know the gent in the cage is a bit of a pain in the arse, but he may prove useful to you. He used to run with a local band of highway robbers before splitting ways. He's a decent shot with a bow if I recall, and he's run into barbarians from the east before, and if the rumors are true, they are into some dark magic. If you are willing to take him on as a probationary charge for the next couple days, I'd appreciate it."

"You said they are taking bodies sheriff? That usually only means one thing...zombies. Why does it always have to be zombies?! You'd think these evil cults would start getting more creative at some point! League of Death would be a heck of a name for a necromancer's cult of some kind though. Tony Plush suspects that this is all tied together and not in a good way at all. Tony Plush isn't sure about staking out the cemetary yet tonight, we should definately talk to Drayson, but he is likely out for the night. We should be able to catch him in the morning at the Elk when he comes in for breakfast and we can talk to him then. If he's out hunting spooks and such tonight trying to locate him could be dangerous for both us and him.
As for the man in the cage, what is he in for? Tony Plush is not opposed to giving him a second chance depending on the nature of his crimes and what he has to say for himself."

Syric nods at Stavis, "My people don't usually go for such armor but I think it's clear that we are in for some troubled times..friend" he says the last word with just a hint of a pause, the distrust he held for the drow no longer apparent on the surface.Staris wrote: After noticing Syric's new gear and looking him over comments "I see you have already put some of the earnings to good use."

Victae chuckles, "I grew up in a citadel, Trinal, I'm pretty sure I know how to deal with uncivilized behavior. In fact I'm starting to remember what a particular sergeant used to do to cadets who fell out of line, I'm sure the caged cat over there wouldn't like it to much." She cracks a smile.

@Tony
The sheriff laughs at Victae's caged cat comment. "Spintik over there was caught in someone else's room at the inn the other week. He said that the woman in the room invited him there, but the husband denied that and accused him of attempted robbery. He was sentenced to 5 days in the stocks, and he's done three. Over the years I'd say he's not a bad kid, just lacks proper judgement and impulse control."

Trinal laughs at that. "Then he'll be a perfect fit for this bunch!"

Tony mock gasps
"A man being accused of robbery and inpropriety with a lady, why Tony Plush has never heard of such a thing!"
Tony then turns to look at Spitnik
"Sheriff, Tony Plush will take him off your hands on probation as you say. The kid and Tony Plush are going to have a little heart to heart conversation this evening and we'll see what comes of it. As you know Tony Plush has a little experience in these matters and if he's satisfied then Tony Plush ventures a guess that the kid won't be a problem for you again. Tony Plush will be at the Mighty Elk along with the others for the night if his lordship would like to see us personally tomorrow morning."

"Maybe not something a true elf might normally wear, but I have heard rumors that certain groups have their honor guard in silver chainmail like gear. So I would think as long as you don't fully abandon your elf heritage or have gear that unnecessarily encumbers you, that your ancestors will still look after you on the hunt."
Stavis then eats for a bit before adding in a hushed tone meant only for the two "I do thank you for your willingness to work with one such as I, I do confess that because of my long years above ground and the influence some have had that I hardly see my self as drow though in body a full blooded one."
"Your aversion to my kind did not go unnoticed and can tell that at this point it is much deeper then your usual bed time story fear, presumably personal and will no pry. Should the group be required from time to time split will by default unless promted by yourself will join the other group."
"I would also add that any drow I come across, save for one who I will never see again, will have to show very quickly that they are friendly and mean no threat or will be attacked with very little quarter for leniency."
Re: LpDnD: Boom Company and Wolf Company
"Ouch, I promise to be good, if you let this cat out of his cage. I can even help catch a rat or two. Anyone who desiccates a grave will suffer the wrath of my Queen." kisses his empty ring finger.

@Spintik, Victae, Tony, and Trinal
Spintik is released from jail. Please add all your possessions back to your inventory list. You are free to move about, but for the next week in game time are considered legally to be bound to Trinal or Tony Plush. If you attempt to flee, they will be held repsonsible by the sheriff and as such they are authorized to use deadly force on you.

With another smile, "Don't worry Stavis, I admit to having some personal issues when it comes to those of your race, but I know there are more to each of us then just our ancestory. You've proven to me that you are not the same as the ones that haunt my memories and I must apologize for any previous coldness towards you."

Stavis with a returned smile "You have nothing to apologize for, your willing to see with your eyes that I am different is more then most who hold grudges against the drow. Even those that do hold on can I hardly fault as I do recognize that in my entire life time it is doubtful that the fates will be able the align themselves again to open the eyes of another drow to the wrongness of the ceremonies and traditions that have gone on for generations."

Yes I have encountered those barbarians. Nasty lot that group. I have heard it tell they are uniteing under one banner. Visible shiver (someone just walked on my grave type)Blackferne wrote:@ Trio in the sheriff's office

Good judgement, bad judgement, proper judgement - it is all the same after a few ales and a lovely young women is nibbling on your ear and buying you drinks smiling and bows.The sheriff laughs at Victae's caged cat comment. Tony sighs dejectedly
"Well there goes soup night."
He then brightens noticably
"Ok, let's get out of here and see if Stavis and Syric have turned anything up. Thank you for your time and information sheriff."
Tony will sweep out hopefully with this merry band of idiots in tow and head for the Mighty Elk for dinner and a drink

[ooc- Blackferne, is there any post or draft system for exchanging money over distances in this world, or is it just cash in hand? My character would like to send some money home to his family, but I don't know how to go about that in RP terms]

Spintik wonders if the inn he was falsely accused in, is the mighty elf and if he has been banned from it.....

Re: LpDnD: Boom Company and Wolf Company
@spintik yes it was that inn, no you aren't banned, but any room must be paid in advance.
@Trinal Yes there are multiple ways to send money home.
Option 1: There are merchant caravans that go from one office to another. It might take a while, but when the caravan rolls through Belholt they will drop off some packages and pick up others. You could pay to have a crate (or box) sent which contains the coins. You would have to make sure you paid a handling fee (usually depending on if it has to switch caravan networks and distance).
Option 2: Independent of the caravan system, there is the king's post. Think pony express. It runs about once a week and will go from town to town to eventually get where it is going. They won't take packages like a literal box of money, but they do take letters. This is the way Money houses communicate. A long time ago a family of enterprising dwarves set up offices in a few cities each with a book of ledgers in regards to the other family offices. You pay 5g into Office A. Office A sends a letter to Office B near the money's ultimate destination. Office B will pay out of their treasury to the ultimate recipient. Then the intra-family debt is settled over time either in transactions in one direction or occasionally in a shipment of money (usually an armed and armored caravan). There is of course a processing fee for this service.
