Would there be interest in a DnD 4e game?
There's no "share" or "save" per-se, but you can print and if you have the appropriate Print-To-PDF abilities, you'll be able to "print" a PDF and use that.
Again, this is what I've done in the past.

Re: Would there be interest in a DnD 4e game?
I'd like character sheets by friday evening sometime so I can review to make sure everything is okay before we start on monday. I'm not gonna be punative like "What you think orb of insanity is viable? WE DON'T USE THAT BOOK HERE! GET OUT!" If I see something that doesn't jive with what I got, I'll just say "hey I see you did X, I see where you are going, but I show that should be Y".

Syric the half-human ardent reporting for duty.
Syric was born to an elf mother and lived a calm and peaceful life for many years. He was often curious about his father, the only trace of his existence, aside from the blood in Syric's veins, was a greatsword left behind. His mother never spoke about the human she had encountered, but there was often a curious look to her eyes whenever Syric would press her for information. He practiced with that sword whenever he could, looking for a way to connect with his human side. Being half-human in his band of elves was not the only thing that set him apart. Early on he discovered a certain aptitude for influencing others around him. It wasn't until he wandered off and found himself lost in the Underdark face to face with a myriad of dark creatures that his mental powers fully awakened, allowing him to manipulate the minds of those that would seek to harm him. He does not often discuss this dark period of his life, but it gave him a focus and purpose that he had not had before. When Syric made his way home he found an empty village, save for his father's greatsword, covered in dust where he last left it. While he is not sure the fate of his elven brethren, he does not feel distraught at their absence. They have their path as he has an open path ahead of him.

To clarify Ardents are psionic warriors who either buff allies or defuff enemies. There is a good deal of positioning powers and boosts to attacks or defenses. Just thought I'd let people know what Whitey is playing.

Hrm, it's looking like we are probably going to be short on the healing side...
Looking through the PHB3 today I see there are rules for hybrid characters that look more like what I was looking for to create Indiana Cleric so maybe I'll go back to that idea. That is assuming Joun is allowing hybrid chars.

Hybrids are fine. As long as it is in the books. What I don't want is a Pixie Assassin because I don't have all the rules on how that would work.Furiel wrote:Hrm, it's looking like we are probably going to be short on the healing side...

Upon further review it appears they do.Whiteness wrote:ardents heal!
So Whitey is healy hitting kind of folk. It has a lot of stuff similar to bard in the positioning and buffs. If starel is a bard and whitey is an ardent who both spec in healing that should be more than enough I think.

Re: Would there be interest in a DnD 4e game?
I'm almost done with my character sheet, I just need to pick my half-elf Dilettante power. I'm not sure how that works. Since I'm an Ardent my power source is psionic and my weapon. Does the power I pick from another class have to have either weapon or psionic as teh power source or can I snag a wizard at-will to use?

Re: Would there be interest in a DnD 4e game?
To answer Whitey's question. One of the half elf racial traits is Dilettante power which gives him the ability to pick up an at will power from another class and make it an encounter power.
So I assume he is trying to pick up Scorching Burst because he likes to set Reese on "friendly" fire and he is wondering about the implement requirement. You can take any at will power, but certain bonuses would not apply. It doesn't matter now because you have starter gear with no bonuses, but later if you had a sword with +3 that would not factor into your burning of Reese, instead it would just be (1d20+int modifier vs target's reflex) instead of (1d20+int modifier +3 for your sword vs ref modifier). Similarly damage would be (1d6+int modifier) instead of (1d6+int modifier + 3 for sword). You could pick up a feat that would apply that specifically "arcane implement proficiency" but that may not be worth it since it is a bonus encounter power due to race and not primary to your class.

To be fair, I've never set Reese or anyone else on fire... as far as I can remember.

Fire no, but Victae got hit by your acid arrow IIRC. And that is why she doesn't spend time with you guys anymore.Whiteness wrote:To be fair, I've never set Reese or anyone else on fire... as far as I can remember.

Still leaning toward sorcerer/striker, but we've got a couple of strikers already, so I may look at a Leader role (not party leader, leader role).
Still parsing the PHB.

Defender=tank
Leader=healer
Striker=DPS
Controller=crowd control specialist
And we have
1 Tank in Reese
2 Healers in Staris and Whitey
1 Striker in Dood
Not exactly sure what Furiel's build will wash out at and you. If you want to hurl fire or knives or fiery knives, there is no reason you couldn't.

Yeah if you're looking to fill a gap, controller seems open. I had a good time playing a wizard last time. Either way, play what looks fun and it'll all get sorted out.
For people new to 4e there are some PHB updates on WoTC site for free, I don't know when/if they added them to the books. For Wizards they changed magic missile and added a lot of 'miss' effects.

Given the current party composition with both Starel and Whitey capable of doing some healing then I'm definately going to go with T-Plush. Just trying to decide if I want to go agile fighter or brawly striker with him.

Remember that there is no RP reason Tony Plush couldn't be an indy type character, he just doesn't channel the gods through powers.Furiel wrote:Given the current party composition with both Starel and Whitey capable of doing some healing then I'm definately going to go with T-Plush. Just as an FYI, as an Avenger, Ham'mon Aeghs is primarily a striker, but with controller-ish abilities.

Also, if you have Dropbox, I can share my D&D folder with you and we can probably keep all of our character sheets in the Alvis folder.

I answered this kind of posting once. We met up traveled a bit, got eaten a lot. Traveled a bit more, crossed a bridge - got eaten by giant frogs. Traveled at bit more, came to a clearing with dark a temple in middle - Got eaten alot. Entered Temple - was handed said ass every 5 steps, never made it off the first floor. Started over new party - went other direction, crossed different bridge got eaten by giant frogs, then came to a clear with dark temple. Turned around and got complete eaten. Started over - New party, some how inherited the debt of old parties....Blackferne wrote:To answer some exposition queries. To start you will be in a tavern in a small town named Belholt. The tavern is run by Bran (a universal name of all my bartenders and tavern masters unless noted otherwise or unless they are female in which case it is likely Branelle). The town is smallish. It isn't large enough to maintain separate churches so instead has a nondenominational church which has alcoves dedicated to each god in the pantheon. Most of the commerce is farmers bringing food and goods to market to trade. The chief governmental authority is Baron Turston. There is a sheriff and he has some folks who work for him.
