Would there be interest in a DnD 4e game?

I'm debating giving it a go. The rules I'd be playing with would be anything that is in the 4e books: PHB vol 1-3, The Monster Manual, and the DM guide. Setting would be generic fantasy world. Party size limit is 5 player characters, so the first 5 to sign up. BTW if signups exceed 6 we will have a wait list in case a player drops or dies and the party elects not to resurrect(it is pretty pricey, and is reese really worth it?).
So are you interested?

Fun! I'm in.
A man may fight for many things. His country, his friends, his principles, the glistening tear on the cheek of a golden child. But personally, I'd mud-wrestle my own mother for a ton of cash, an amusing clock and a sack of French porn. - Edmund Blackadder

I believe the answer to your question is yes.
I believe my answer to this question is yes as well.

I've got a robe and wizard hat here somewhere.

Btw for ability scores start with the standard array: 16, 14, 13, 12, 11, 10, then modify as needed based on race selection.

As long as I get to try to backstab someone with a ballista I'll be happy!!Jimer Lins wrote:I've got a robe and wizard hat here somewhere.
On a somewhat related note, in a statement that I'm sure will surprise no one lately when playing DnD I've gravitated toward Rogueish characters, but I have a few character ideas I can work with, but I'd like to see us try to work out something mildly cohesive and balanced ahead of time if possible so we can avoid starting with intraparty conflict.
I'm sure we'll be able to develop that all on our own as the game progresses.

Oh and class balance is not my problem when designing encounters. If you have 5 thieves and no tanks or healers, I just hope everyone has a lot of band-aids.

@ cuspar
goof off durign the day
probably less than the jounville escapades
Whitey and Cuspar are the last two signups. Wait lost starts after them. (We'll have a 6 man group. It is doable.)

I'm interested but put me as a standby as I'm very green at 4e so some time to read as well as watch and learn would be helpful before I start playing to try and help reduce the hand holding I know I will need.

Note about alignment. 4e has the following:
[*]Lawful Good: Civilization and order.[/*]
[*]Good: Freedom and kindness.[/*]
[*]Unaligned: Having no alignment; not taking a stand.[/*]
[*]Evil: Tyranny and hatred.[/*]
[*]Chaotic Evil: Entropy and destruction.[/*]
You can pick any of them. I'm fine with evil people or parties. And if you want to fight a fellow player that is fine too. I may or may not intervene. But be careful with how much you antagonize your partymates.

Hmm, should I try NOT playing a rogue this time?
*looks over list of characters played in RPGs both electronic and P&P*
It would be a shame to dirty up my perfect record of DPS/Rogue builds.

So what is everyone thinking of playing? Since SOME balance might be nice - even for Jounville so he doesn't have to deal with another game like the campaign he DMed last year (non-Alvis) where he had like 4 strikers and a defender dealing absurd amounts of damage and no healers or controllers.
I almost always play rogues, but like I said, I could experiment here and go with pretty much anything.
