Maybe the Professor and Victae don't want to go? Huh? Ever think of that?

Are you going to put it on his forehead?
Maybe not there specifically, but I will shove the Bha'al sack in his face and demand answers.
That seems like a bit of a dick move...

[OOC I'm fine with moving ahead time.]

After resting for 4 hours Stavis will wake up extra early to get washed up and clean his gear so he is presentable to the Baron.

Syric will stuff the bag safely under his armor, ensuring the Bha'al Sack doesn't leave a noticable bulge.

Date: Rabbit the 9th, 1241. Time 9am.

The adventurers (All 9 of you: Gobo, Ham'mon, Professor, Spintik, Stavis, Syric, Tony, Trinal, and Victae) are assembled in the Baron's entry hall. There are many tapestries on the walls, and a mural depicting a large battle. The artistic style would be most like French late Gothic Frescos if you are trying to imagine it. there is a grand wooden stairway coming down from the higher floor. There are doors to the left and right, and one in the back behind the stairs, probably intended for servants.

The Sheriff is there with one of his deputies.

"Morning." He says and the deputy nods.

The Baron's servant comes down the stairs.
"His lordship will be down in a moment, but wanted me to seat you in the parlor." He leads you through the door on the left into a room that has a large marble fireplace, several portraits along the high walls, and several ornate cushioned couches and chairs.

"Please have a seat. I shall return in a moment with refreshments."

Tony will appropriate a chair for his seating pleasure. One that is obviously not the Baron's intended seat, but looks the most comfortable and cushioned.

After you all find seats on couches or chairs and wait a short while the servant walks back in from the door you entered from, behind is a well dressed man in his mid thirties, rail thin, dark hair, beady eyes, and a slight underbite. The Sheriff and Deputy stand up.

"Here stands Baron Thurston Howell, protector of Belholt, minister of the people, arm of the Earl and our King."

The Baron walks in eyeing the lot of you up. He sees the Professor. "Ah how is the work coming?"

"I've started an outline, by which to fill out the first act. I still need to do some field research I feel to really get at the heart of the subject my lord." The Professor says.

He notices Tony.
"Ah Mr. Poosh. Anymore problems with the ladies?" he says in a smug self satisfied way.

"No your baronship, Tony PLUSH has not encountered any more FEMALE THIEVES within your lands of influence. Although judging by the quality of the creatures we have encountered in this area since we arrived those are the least of your worries. But Tony Plush is sure that you have this situation with the Spectral Alliance, the cult of Bha'al and the Barbarians of Orcus completely under control so you probably don't need our help at all so please, by all means, continue to be disrespectful to the people who have already done your city three great services that you are aware of and a few you are not as well..."

Spintik will follow the sheriffs lead. Sit when he sits, stand when he stands and only speak when spoken too.

Trinal clears his throat. "My colleague Mr. Plush may be a trifle blunt, my lord, but he does speak the truth. We have encountered a number of creatures recently, within very short distances of this manor, which you should be concerned with, which is why we're here. There are dark forces at work, and we feel that as the lord of this area, you should know of them. "

"We've been told your family has some history with the Cult of Bha'al and now they, and other dark forces, are gaining strength and increasing their numbers" Syric adds.

He reaches in his armor and pulls out the Bha'al Sack to see if it gets a response from the Baron.

"I might also add quite brazenly. Heppil's forge was at least attempting to conceal their actions for Bha'al but the Goblins in the tower close to the grave they where stealing from either decided to rush upon hearing the mines fall or more likely were already moving on plans before it could be found out and word gotten to them.

To put it bluntly this town is in need of help in dealing with these enemies, help that we are offering. Any help that can be giving would be most appreciative as so far all we have been able to do is react with seemingly no indications of where other cells can be found."

"This is one of the relics the cultist's are after in their attempt to bring back Bha'al. It was found with the goblins when the tower was cleared. They are trying to get the Spectral Alliance, or as they're also known the League of Death, to support their cause. Their undead abominations were found nearby in a crypt which we also cleared out, but we did not see their Vampire Lord that is rumored to be in the area. So far we've been left with more questions then answers, but we know the cult is performing rituals and looking for relics to further their goals, the Alliance has a 'Vlad' and 'Viggo' which are higher up the food chain then the scum we exterminated and are looking to increase their numbers and both are watching for Barbarians from the east who are devoted to Orcus and are enlisting demonic forces." Syric says as he fiddles with the Bha'al sack in his hand.

"That, my lord, is what we believe to be an artifact containing the fragments of a bone sword used by a foe of Eadred some 600 years ago. It has some power, although we have- wisely in my opinion- not attempted to assay its capabilities. We only bring it to your attention to underscore the gravity of this situation. We hope that your lordship will be discreet in who else learns of this, because it's quite likely that those operating in this area have information sources in the area."

[ooc- I didn't think we were keeping it secret from the baron, just the general rabble.]

Ham mutters under his breath, "Yes, let's share a totem of potentially unspeakable evil with everyone. "

He pulls out his wineskin for the first time in days and drains a third of it.
