The Taris Event Chapter 2
After Klak wakes up from sleeping (passing out) near the ship entrance he offers to spar with Eli over the trip. It would be best if they are both prepared for anything that may come up.
Knowing that with his soldiers training in the ability to heal on the battlefield (heal +7) he offers to help with any Dewbacks that may need some minor assistance.
He bides his time until the flight by offering to assist anyone that may need help around the ship.

Heading out of the ship, Syric first tosses Klak one of the liters of whiskey he had procured. "Try and make that last"
Leaving the shipyard he searches for a droid vendor, looking for a Serv-O-Droid Utility Droid, preferrably used.

Re: The Taris Event Chapter 2
While walking the dirt streets Syric thinks back to how the last time he was on Tatooine, many seasons ago, also involved dewbacks. He was by no means found of the scaly beasts, remembering being dragged halfway to the Jundland Wastes before freeing himself from the harness only to have Jounville pull up moments later laughing his fool head off. Now that he thought about it, he knew there was a reason for the reptile's abnormal behavior that time as they're usually quite docile when trained...
Something clicked in his head and immediately Syric pulls out his commlink to contact Cuspar, Bulwark and Dood, "Hey guys, do me a huge favor...make sure it's not dewback mating season before you pick up the cargo."

@ Cuspar, Dood, Bulwark and anyone else who came with
"Welcome to Fossar Shipping." Welsey says as he greets you at the door. "Follow me to the holding area for the herd." Wesley walks you through a busy warehouse with repuslor lifts and labor droids moving crates and pallets from one dock to shelves to other docks. "The supplier is a rancher outside the city who apparently got an order from another rancher in the grassland area of Bryx. Apparently he wants to take a chance on importing dewbacks to a more favorable environment to see if he can breed bigger beasts. More muscle, more meat. The order requires 9 males and 9 females, so if you don't find one you like of a given type we have to substitute it out with one of the same sex. I know what you are thinking, and no you don't have to worry about dewbacks mating on your ship. They have certain conditions for mating, seasonal mostly. And your ship's cooler climate will probably put them into a semi-hibernatory state. But as an added precaution we have already given the beasts a collar with a time release hormone suppressant. It has enough quantity to last a month so you won't need to even mess with it. And here we are." He guides you to an external holding area fenced in with about two dozen dewbacks walking around and snorting at each other. Occasionally there is a loud yelp or cry from the large beasts.
"Feel free to start your selection. Remember nine males and nine females."

Re: The Taris Event Chapter 2
Your inspection of the herd shows that all of the dewbacks seem in pretty good health. No signs of infections, malnutrition, or abnormal physical development. The temperament shows most are docile, probably due to the hormonal suppressants collars. The largest male does seem a big more aggressive than the rest, but still less aggressive than similar sized beasts you've seen before.Bulwark wrote:Bulwark begins looking the beasts over:

Since we're not getting paid by the pound, we take 9 of each sex of the dewbacks, but substitute the largest male for a smaller one.

yes, these will do. Lets head back to the ship and get them loaded up. I'd like to get them crated as soon as we can. I hear there have been some dewback-rustlers around. Bulwark says while taking off the large rubber gloves.

Re: The Taris Event Chapter 2
Welsey gets the 18 dewbacks you select and puts them into harnesses who are arranged in 3 groups of 6 (2 wide three long in each group). He hands Cuspar the datacard with the permits, shipping manifest etc etc and various electro-prods and has the dewback crates loaded onto some load lifters to be driven behind your dewback procession to your ship.Cuspar wrote:Since we're not getting paid by the pound, we take 9 of each sex of the dewbacks, but substitute the largest male for a smaller one.

"We'll take the crates to your ship for you and get them situated." Wesley says. He takes the 1,000cr. "When you arrive at the Bryx starport for the city of Tal'Kor, one of our representatives will take the shipment from you and pay you 19,000cr which includes your 1,000cr insurance deposit."
You guys walk through the streets leading teh animals to the Sweet Delia and the Fossar crew installs the cages into your cargo hold. With alittle prodding you guys get all 18 dewbacks situated into the hold. They start moaning and groaning not happy about the cramped containers. The Fossar rep says he is pretty sure that will stop after a day or two. He drops off the crates of food, and water fro the animals and gives you basic care instructions.

"Fine." Clearly put off by doing his job he walks in the back and moments later walks out with a Serv-O-Droid R-8009 utility droid. "It has had 3 previous masters and 3 memory wipes. It has passed our in shop inspection and is capable of cleaning, routine maintenance and other base line tasks not requiring specialized droids. It understands basic, but can't speak anything but binary."Whiteness wrote:"Well the price for the used one is almost agreeable, can I take a look at it first?"Blackferne wrote:

The droid has seen some wear and tear with very minor scuffs and dings along its exterior.

Bending down to inspect the droid and surreptitiously block the clerk's line of sight, Syric tries to make some minor surface damage.
"This droid is obviously in need of some repairs, I mean it looks like it will work now but hardly last a few cycles. If you through in a vocabulator I'll take it off your hands for 500 credits, which is far more than this thing is worth but fixing droids is a hobby of mine"

Realizing he will get nowhere with the small fry at the counter and has no time to work over his superior, Syric consents to the price happy that he did no real damage to the droid.
"Just give me the droid then and add on the vocabulator"

"Vocabulator? Okay mister, whatever you say." He says a bit confused. "That will be 650cr." He programs the droid quickly to recognizer you as its new master and takes your money and gives you the vocabulator kit.Whiteness wrote:Realizing he will get nowhere with the small fry at the counter and has no time to work over his superior, Syric consents to the price happy that he did no real damage to the droid.
