Trinal is going to ask Bran to direct him to the dwarves to send an Elven Union moneygram home, then go see if anyone's got a spellbook for sale in town.
"Professor, do you happen to do ritual magic?"

Re: LpDND: Reunions
"Not really. It is interesting to be sure, but I haven't had the time to really sit down and learn. You should check out the local temples. Usually they have libraries. It won't be a huge library, but it might have a starter ritual, and they usually know the bookbinders in town." The Professor says.
Bran directs you to the Dwarvish Money Lines representative. He is only open for another hour though since it is evening. You better hurry.

Well, I do so then. I'll keep enough back for a spell book and the components for a couple of rituals (100 Gp should do it).

After you send money, do you go to the caretaker at the temple? Or save that for tomorrow during the day?

Might as well get it out of the way; tomorrow's gonna be a busy day.

Re: LpDND: Reunions
You approach the...well temple is a bit of a stretch. It is a building dedicated to the religions of the realm. The outside of the building is pretty plain, but clearly a house of worship. As you walk in you see the caretaker fiddling with a few candles in teh corner. The building's interior is well decorated. It has murals, paintings, ornate carved benches. A real shock comparing it to the outside. Thinking back to the Sheriff's words on your ride along, you see that the baroness from a generation or two ago really did a great job on making this place fancy. As you walk in your footsteps alert the caretaker. (I am assuming you aren't rolling a stealth check).

Ham'mon furrows his brow. He looks at the professor for a second and back to the medallion.
Ham reaches and attempts to rub the medallion with his thumb, as though to clean a smudge.

"Greetings, sir," Trinal says respectfully. "I was wondering if I might be allowed to peruse your library for certain books of rituals? I will of course be willing to make a contribution to the temple."

Re: LpDND: Reunions
"Ah yes. Of course. We have a meager library being a small town and all, but follow me and I'll show you what we have." He leads you to a door on the side of the room which goes down into a cellar. There are a few shelves of books. He mutters to himself unintelligibly as he looks over the titles. "Ah yes here we are. Ritual of Silence, something about secret pages, Magic Mouth, Comprehend Language. That is a good one. And eye of alarm. It isn't much of a selection I'm afraid, usually we get them from the kindness of wizards or clerics passing by which isn't very often."

@Ham'mon
"It is a puzzle for sure. We found it on the corpse of a vampire we killed who seemed to be in charge of the crypt Drayson pointed us to. The material is low quality gold if I had to guess, but I could be wrong on that front. There isn't much in the way of exterior ornamentation indicating probably a standard minting and not much in the was of craftsmanship beyond the initial sculpting. If there was flares or wreathes or feathers as a form of framing ornamentation, but affixed afterwards you'd assume that a real artisan was in play making either the item rare due to a slow production stream, or conversely reserved for someone of higher status maybe? Now the symbols are what I can't seem to get my mind off of. Ravens and crows are carrion birds. They circle corpses and are seen and known to be agents of the raven queen. Assuming that is the case, what is the snake doing? Typically in art snakes symbolize evil, which is fine and dandy, but rarely do we see snakes showing their teeth. It is an aggressive behavior. snakes are usually reserved for evil that is deceptive, sneaky, not outright aggressive. And so we see this rare form of a snake trying to bite the crow which is attacking it. I mean..." he pauses for a second then gets a flash in his eyes like somethign is clicking, "What if.. now I'm just theorizing here, but what if the snake represents vampires and the spectral alliance. Vampires have fangs, snakes have fangs. But vampires unlike most folks when they die, do not go on to an afterlife. They stay here. Assume that the snakes behavior is a way to validate that decision. like 'We are fighting off death, we strive for immortality!' or some such nonsense. So we have this bird which is the power of the gods, and it symbolizes so much. It is nature, it is the cycle of life. It is the end point for so much, yet here the snake is fighting back. It is denying the bird the easy meal. It is going down fighting. Vampires I would guess see themselves like this snake. They see themselves as misunderstood heroes against the cosmos. This imagery summarizes their internal struggle, their sense of self, this image is them. To them, they are the snakes, they are forging a new path for themselves, rules of teh cosmological order be damned." Beaming with pride he drops the medallion on the table and leans back putting his hands behind his head.

Re: LpDND: Reunions
Once the meeting is finished, Spintik will keep an eye on everyone in the bar. Looking of those paying close attention to our group.
Spintik wanders over to Bran and quietly asks "Is there anyone here tonight other than our group who is relatively new to town, say within the last year?"

Joun, I'll assume I bought a spellbook, and if he's amenable, I'll copy Comprehend Languages into it.

Re: LpDND: Reunions
Sounds good.
Is everyone okay with fast forwarding to the morning at the Baron's?
(please respond in the nex 4 hours. If we have a majority I'll do so. If not we won't. I've got Syric with the Bha'al sack, and the Professor with the Vampire medallion.
