FYI, Arrican is in disposed for a while and I really feel that we're at a part of the story that sort of requires him. Today may be a very light day.

I've been friends with the guy that got me into SWG since I was 8 and I'm now 29 (you old fucks) but I've barely talked to him since he and I moved 6 years ago. The only decent people I've found out here in VA are friends of the wifey but she's 4 years younger than me and she was the oldest of her friends! That and it seems like I've had no time to do anything besides be a father and husband.Dood wrote:My friend, James, and I have been friends now for 23 years. He and our mutual friend, Ken, have been friends for 28 years.Furiel wrote:I was just discussing with my best friend the other night over drinks that we are right around the point now that we've known each other and have been best friends for literally half our lives...which is no mean feat considering we're in our late 30s.Dood wrote:Yeah, dude. We're all totally fucking old now. I've now known you guys longer than pretty much 90% of the other people I hang out with these days.Furiel wrote:It's been 2011 for over 3 months now, so 2003 is over 8 years agoWhiteness wrote:Have we really been members of that forum for 2.5 years?![]()
oh shit, is 2003 really almost 8 years ago?
For comparison purposes, my sister is 27 and Reese is a fucking zygote.
Also, I talk to you guys more than I talk to my own family!

I never know where I fit with the gen-x stuff. I was born in the tail end of it, but North Dakota in 1981 was more like the rest of the country in 1975-78, so I feel older than I am.Blackferne wrote:On the getting old thing.

Yeah gen Xers are dusting off their D&D books. I couldn't help but think of what we are doing here.

We can drag him along to the shipyard and get Zeid to recap where we stand. I'm sure So Leet is just shook up from last night still.Dood wrote:FYI, Arrican is in disposed for a while and I really feel that we're at a part of the story that sort of requires him. Today may be a very light day.

Re: The Taris Event Chapter 2 OOC Thread
On ship modifications:
Ships have emplacement points which allow you to add equipment to your rig. the 578-Rs have 4. Dynamic Class Freighters have 6. Both ships qualify as colossal size ships. You can start looking at modifications you'd want to start considering at approx page 40 of the starships rule book. The cost of the modification is the base price X 5 because of the size of ships you are looking at.

Okay I just want you guys to realize something.
NONE OF YOU CURRENTLY HAVE A CAPTAIN'S LICENSE
Law requires all ships to have 3 pieces of registration on board at all times.
1. Captain's Accredited License: Cost 200 credits Requirements a Pilot Skill check of DC 15 (That makes Dood and Syric your best chances to pass the driving test) 10 years starship experience (Dood again based on background) the experience can be waived for a 300 credit expedite fee. Processing time 1 day
2. Ship's Operating License: Cost 1,000 credits Requirements: Must have Captain's Accredited License, and must pass inspection which includes no illegal modifications. Time: 1 day
3. Arms Load Out Permit: Registers the ships weapons. Cost based on weapon class Time: Based on class of weapon

So if we applied for the captain's license today we wouldn't be able to apply for the operating license until tomorrow, and then wait a day if we want any illegal modifications?Blackferne wrote:Okay I just want you guys to realize something.

Permit cost is 50% of the market value of that laser and processing time is 10 days ( or 1 if you pass a bureacracy DC 25 roll). So how much is a death star?Furiel wrote:What's the cost and permit time for "Planet exploding super laser"?Blackferne wrote:3. Arms Load Out Permit: Registers the ships weapons. Buy the ship today, take captain's test today. Tomorrow you get that permit which allows you to get operating license. After you get that you have to register your weapons which takes minimum a day.Whiteness wrote:So if we applied for the captain's license today we wouldn't be able to apply for the operating license until tomorrow, and then wait a day if we want any illegal modifications?Blackferne wrote:Okay I just want you guys to realize something.

If you just buy the ship and fly away if you won't be able to land in a spaceport without being arrested and fined for illegal use of a starship.

Where did you see that, I only saw it had a Will defense of 25 and was hostile, but I honestly don't know what that means specifically because I didn't plan on trying to hack it myself. It says it's almost impossible to add, edit or remove records, but it doesn'thave info on how to just view it.Blackferne wrote:Hacking the BoSS is a DC 40.
I was wondering if it was possible to look up a similar ship so we could mask our transponder to show up as it instead.

You know, if we were to all say, "We just hang out and work on the ship and licenses until they're ready, I'm pretty sure Pat can then say, "OK, it's 3 days later."Whiteness wrote:Sweet Delia, I don't want to be on Tat for 3+ more days...

Allow me to translate what Pat is saying for you, cause you may not have played a PNP in a while. Pat isn't saying that the DC is 40 in the book. He's saying "You want to do that? HA! Funny. No."Whiteness wrote:Where did you see that, I only saw it had a Will defense of 25 and was hostile, but I honestly don't know what that means specifically because I didn't plan on trying to hack it myself. Great, so then we just have to wait the 3 days for us to come to a consensus on which ship to getDood wrote:You know, if we were to all say, "We just hang out and work on the ship and licenses until they're ready, I'm pretty sure Pat can then say, "OK, it's 3 days later."Whiteness wrote:Sweet Delia, I don't want to be on Tat for 3+ more days...

Right. can't we get Zeid to take us up on a test drive and get Darth Gando to kill him so we can steal his ship?
