So, I wonder if they are going to do something like what BioWare did with Mass Effect 1,2, and 3... where you can keep importing your characters and continue their levels in the sequels....
I would be willing to guess that they are going to keep much of the current code, which would eliminate the need for developing an entirely new game. Instead they can simply redesign the environments and add/improve other areas of the game. This would also greatly reduce the overall development time for a sequel.... Unless they are particularly sadistic and decide to completely revamp the engine.
Right now I am going to guess a late 2016/early 2017 release..... with announcement/official demo during the 2016 E3 and/or TGS.
Also, If I learn anything from my official inside person that I can share without violating anything... you know I'll post it hehe.
