I don't know if this recently changed, if all of our brains have been just misreading it for months or what, but read the header for this forum once. I mean REALLY read it...

When you are done snickering you might want to change it...

In the comments section on the blog, can we make the reply and quote buttons permanent instead of sliding in when you mouse-over the banner? Obvious functions should be obvious...

And I still don't like the blog link launching a new window...and don't like is putting it mildly...it's probably more of a I would like to take that idea, kill it, rip it's eyes out, defile the empty eye sockets, put the eyes back in, then ship it to the person who had the idea with a note saying "This is your idea, if you don't want it to be you, don't ever fucking think again. Hugs and kisses, Furiel"

On blog comments I'll look into that after I update the forum software.

On the new window no new window business on the blog link I have put a compromise since I've had several people tell me that having it link out is useful since everyone should be tabbed browsing anyway. Implications about noobishness were made for those who don't.

Okay forum update done.

I think the disappearing buttons for reply and quote are in the CSS for the blog theme we are using. I'll readily admit CSS is something I am still in the early stages of learning so this might take a while to isolate and turn off.

And now for my next request - the comment indicator on the blog, is there a way to have it color code or some other indication if there are new comments since last you checked them or not? Right now it just seems to be a grey no, green yes and that's it.

Yes there is a way. Do I know where even to begin? Nope.

There were two new registered users that posted spam topics. I banned the accounts and deleted the posts.

I've been getting random error 500s again, and the forum header isn't loading on the main blog page anymore for me...

Good work Gandolfini, and Furiel that is PROBABLY because Jess's post on Schnotzis got linked on WoW Insider so we have a shit ton of tourists checking out her rant. And since our accoutn for murlocparliament and the church are linked, what affects one of us can affect both. It will pass in a day or two. I apologize for the inconvenience.

No biggie and nothing apologize for. Just wanted to mention it in case it was indicitive of something bigger that we might actually care about. Shit like this happens at work and I don't care and tell people to ignore it and hang up on them, but this is important stuff here...

I just picked off another one as well. Might have to start looking at some new protection, this rubber appears to have a leak...

I know about teh 500 server errors, I have a ticket emailed into 1and1 and are waiting for a reply. Unlike last time when it was probably related to MP getting hit hard, I can't see why now would be a high traffic problem day.

Update on the 500 errors.

I've been going back and forth with our host. They do not seem to have very capable techs. I've been referred to our data transfer as a possible source despite out plan saying unlimited. They have also said we might be utilizing too much memory (30mb limit for our plan). But I have no way to be able to see what we have done that uses so much memory (they referred me to daily data transfer logs).

Dood seems to think it might be a PHP bug in either Alvis, the forums, or MP,. I'm going to call tonight and hopefully speed this up a bit.
